Chapter 22 - INVASION

In the now repaired sitting room, Riven and Aeon sat calmly, not daring to move an inch forward. They had faced hell in the private space Levi trapped them in; they did not want to experience it again.

Levi sat calmly in the elite hall of the academy. Around him were faces he had seen continuously for 3 months. Although not him, at least his clones had seen them every day.

"You are required to finish in 10 minutes," Cross warned as the papers that lay on his table flew towards each of the students, before dropping neatly on their tables.

'As expected, the academy is not even giving time to think at all,' Levi mused as he took his pen to start ticking the answers.

But Levi found the time reasonable. At their level, they could definitely tick all the answers in less than 5 minutes, and he could even do it in just 1 minute.

The students started to tick, some occasionally looking up as if trying to remember something.

Then, everyone's gaze was drawn to a seat in the middle. No words, no warnings. The boy who sat there just disappeared.

Everyone's eyes instinctively moved to Cross, but they saw him sitting calmly, his eyes not as much as leaving the book he was reading.

The students noticed the disappearance. Why would a god not notice it, unless.

All the students concluded in their minds. The answer was already obvious, but the reason was what they did not know.

Did he gaze wrongly at the teacher? Was he handling the paper too roughly? Several thoughts echoed in their minds. But Levi already knew what it was. Cross had caught the boy cheating.

'To think someone is dumb enough to cheat in a class supervised by a god,' Levi thought. 'Even with how developed brains are in this world compared to Earth, there will still be dumb people,' he sighed.

The Exam continued, with no other student vanishing. As the ten minutes was up, the papers vanished, and Cross closed his book. He looked up at the students.

"Since I never mentioned anything about cheating, your previous classmate will only receive a light punishment, leaving his position and getting replaced. Also, wait for your next Exam here," he said, then stepped out of the class, leaving the astonished students in awe.

Levi rested his head on the desk, oblivious to the murmurs spreading across the class.

"Yo, Levi," Blaze interrupted his peaceful moment. Levi raised his head slightly to look at him. Beside him was Atlas, whose bulky frame overshadowed both of them easily.

"What's up?" Levi asked.

"How was the exam? Number 20 was crazy as hell. What the fuck is the origin of abyss seeds?" Atlas began lamenting.

Seeing him, both Blaze and Levi scoffed. They were sure the answers he geo correctly were less than 60. He only had brute strength; when it came to books, he was useless.

"Just perform well in the next Exam," Levi commented.

"Well, it depends on the type of Exam," Blaze said.

They all laughed at those words.

"But he should be good with the next one, it is probably fight-based," Levi said.

"I hope so," Atlas said in a low voice. He also knew how bad he was at books.

"Just rest, conserve your energy," Levi said.

They nodded and wished him luck before going to their seats.

'It is definitely an Exam to prove our strength,' Levi thought.

Murmurs had begun to spread across the school. The students had waited for over 2 hours, but nothing, no one had entered to conduct the Exam.

Just then, alarms blared. The students furrowed their brows; even Levi was confused.

The academy has been breached, and demons have invaded the academy.

The words sounded like thunder in the ears of all the students. It felt like a nuke had been dropped in the minds of all the students.

The professors have engaged the gods and high-tier demons; the students are required to face the lesser demons gathered in the academy square. Initiate tier demons give 1000 points, adept tier gives 5000 points, and master tier gives 10000 points. Good luck, and don't die, the voice gave the final speech and disappeared.

A smile formed on Levi's lips as he heard the rewards. He had planned to only sit back and watch. It was only a matter of time till the professors would be done with the demons they were fighting, and they would clear the rest. But now there were rewards, he was not going to lose it.

"Yay!" Atlas jumped up, reaching Levi in a single leap. "Let's fight those bastards together," he yelled, his voice sending gusts of wind around the class.

Blaze was clearly disappointed at Atlas's behavior. But even he was excited to fight demons.

"It seems you all are happy," Levi smiled. "Alright, let's go," he said. With that, he vanished.

Atlas and Blaze stared at his seat. "That fucker, he ditched us," they yelled as they dashed out of the class.

Like it was a trigger, all the students followed suit. All, except 4.

"Why did you stop me?" Selene asked Selora with a sharp gaze, her crimson ponytails swaying lightly under the gentle breeze.

"Nothing, just wanted to ask how you were," Selora replied.

"You could not come to my dormitory, or when we are alone, you had to ask when they were here," Selene pointed at Caelen and Vorin.

Caelen smiled. "We were also curious about your well-being, so we tagged along," he countered.

Selene scoffed and walked out. She could not be bothered with them when she had other things to do.

"I thought you had her under control, cause it doesn't look like it to me," Vorin said, clearly mocking Selora.

"Watch your tongue if you really need them," Selora threatened.

"Ehh! Who the hell do you think you are threatening?" Vorin asked, clearly angry by her taunts.

"Hey guys, calm down. Let's just get the mission over with, then we'll talk later," Caelen interjected.

Selora hissed, Vorin snorted. With that, they left the room, with Caelen in the middle.
