Levi woke early the next day. It was finally time for the mid-term examination. "Definitely going to shock everyone today," he mused as he walked out of the bathroom, with a smile, his body still dripping water and a towel wrapped tightly around his waist.
Quickly, he put on his uniform. "Riven, Aeon," he called out.
Since he was going for an exam and did not know how long he would stay, he decided to take them both.
He could even display Aeon's powers fully in the academy.
He furrowed his brows after waiting for 2 minutes, and there was no response. "What are they doing?" He murmured as he walked to the door.
Slowly, the door opened to reveal the disaster that had occurred. A silent huff escaped his lips. He closed his eyes calmly and regulated his breathing.
'I need to control my anger,' he thought.
After some time, he opened his eyes. He walked down carefully over the stairs, if it could still be called that.
Several holes had been created from top to bottom. Even the rails had been destroyed. He had to stitch nanites together to make it passable.
'Did I make a mistake leaving them here last night?' He wondered.
'But Max, I asked you to call repairers from the academy,' he said to Max.
Master Levi, it was late yesterday, and the academy maintenance team only works from 10 to 6, Max explained.
Levi nodded in realisation as he descended the stairs.
'But where are they?' his gaze passed through the sitting room, but he found no one.
He spread nanites through the house. "I can't be bothered with finding some incompetent subordinates," he said with a sigh.
He relaxed on the nanite chair that formed beneath him as he waited for the search to find them.
He did not wait long; the nanites alerted him to their finding.
Levi faded from the sitting room, the nanite's chair dissolving soon after.
Levi appeared in the kitchen. His brows twitched as he looked at Riven and Aeon, cuddled in a cabinet.
"They slept here. How the hell were they even able to enter?" Levi whisperep with a hiss.
Then a smile crept up his face. "I might as well teach them a lesson."
"Riven, Aeon, wake up," Levi called out.
Like they were sharing minds, they both opened their eyes slowly, the world revealing itself to them.
"Where are we?" Riven was the first to notice the abnormality. Aeon made a low growl as if sharing Riven's confusion.
Just then, dense, red smoke began to fill the atmosphere. With it came several disfigured beings, some walking on their head with legs attached to their eyes, some had eyeballs larger than their eyes, and some even carried their brain with their hands as they walked. They all varied, each one more grotesque than the next. But they had one thing in common.
Their target. They all ran towards Aeon and Riven like crazed beasts.
Riven scoffed. "I don't know what is happening, but I am sure Levi is behind this. But to think he will send measly stage 9 adepts to me," he spoke aloud, as if seeing Levi there.
Levi sat calmly on a pitch grey chair, his hand curled around a blue transparent orb. He smiled at Riven's deduction. "How long can you say that for?" He asked quietly, turning his head to his right. "Or what do you think, Aiden?"
"Master, I don't think they can even see half the horde before they collapse," Aiden stated the fact.
Levi smiled, turning back to the orb.
The grotesque beings in the small space were all creations of Aiden. Levi found them too bizarre, so he decided to dispose of them. Thankfully, the right cleaners appeared at the most appropriate time.
His mind trailed from the orb for a while. 'I have mastered all elements to a ridiculous level, even creating something as a private space easily, and a poisonous fog,' he mused. 'How time flies.'
In the space, Riven brandished his daggers for a collision. Lightning danced across his frame as he darted to the heart of the monsters. 'Why wait when I can kill them quickly?'
He swung his dagger lightly and severed the heads of 3 monsters at once. The remnant of the energy went on to kill 2 others behind him.
Not wanting to be left behind, Aeon moved. He flashed with a golden light. His paws descended among monsters, and with them came pillars of light that shot down with force, incinerating everything in their path.
Shadows moved as 3 other Aeon appeared. They moved with might, crushing numerous monsters with each attack.
"Show off," Riven said, his form blurring before appearing above a monster. He brought his dagger down, cleaving through it like butter against a hot knife.
Then a silent huff. Flames roared to life as he landed, erupting in waves that burnt monsters down.
The battle raged on for over 30 minutes before it ended.
Amidst the cracks of lightning and the swirling of shadows, Riven and Aeon stood, their breathing steady but heavy. Their eyes scanned the battlefield, checking if they had missed anyone, but they were all dead. They had killed over 5000 monsters in just 30 minutes.
Levi watched calmly outside the space. "They have gotten stronger," a quiet smile formed on his lips as he muttered. "But if they think that is all, they are gravely mistaken," he said.
"Aiden, send the next wave of monsters into the space," He commanded, waving his hand.
The next instant, a blue shimmering portal appeared in front of them.
The portal was linked to the private space, but it was far from where Riven and Aeon stood.
Aiden willed it, and strange monsters began to emerge in thin air, entering the portal in a composed manner. The portal closed again, and attention was returned to the orb.
In the space, just as Riven and Aeon were about to relax, they felt something. Their mana had stopped regenerating.
Naturally, Riven knew it was due to the fog that covered the place. But there was nothing to do. "Thank goodness we dealt with those monsters before this happened," he heaved.
But Aeon pointed somewhere. Riven's eyes widened. Several monsters were already coming for them again. These were stronger and definitely more dangerous.
