Chapter 25 - The Return of Titus

Next, Marcus continued to test other aspects of his physical fitness.

Eyesight, hearing, bite force, resistance to impact, and so on.

Finally, he obtained a series of complex data.

After completing all the tests, Marcus followed the two Astartes out of the testing room.

At Marcus's request, the two Astartes took him on a tour of various areas on the Severian.

However, since Captain Archellan only allowed Marcus to move within limited areas, the places Marcus could visit were quite restricted.

He could only go to public areas like the crew deck, the mess hall, and the chapel.

But Marcus didn't mind; since he couldn't complete the system's mission on Avarax right now, he might as well just pass the time.

While touring with the two Astartes, Marcus began to summarize the results of the previous test.

If viewed purely from the data.

Marcus's current physical fitness level was roughly equivalent to three-quarters of a Primaris Astartes in unarmored state.

This was just pure physical fitness; if he were to cover his arms, legs, and other areas with Mind Power.

Then, in terms of strength and speed, Marcus would only be slightly inferior to a Primaris Astartes who had just finished their modification surgery.

However, the Astartes' power was not only in their formidable physical fitness.

It was also in the combat experience accumulated over long periods of fighting, their fearless spirit of sacrifice, and their extremely well-coordinated combat teamwork.

And most importantly, the support of various cutting-edge weapons and equipment from the Imperium of Man.

Marcus knew that his current identity was merely a suspected Emperor-blessed individual.

Therefore, he would temporarily be unable to obtain any excellent weapons or equipment from the Imperium of Man.

Moreover, Marcus knew that if the Ultramarines' Chief Librarian Tigurius hadn't already left the Recidious System with Calgar.

Captain Archellan would probably have already had this powerful psyker directly probe his memories.

And this was something Marcus absolutely could not accept.

He didn't think exposing his identity as a transmigrator, or the existence of the system panel, to the Imperium of Man, or even to the Ultramarines, would do him any good.

However, fortunately, due to the obstruction of the Hive Shadow.

Currently, the Ultramarines' Second Company in the Recidious Star System was temporarily unable to contact the main force.

Thus, there was no talk of having the Librarian directly probe Marcus's memories.

But according to the original game's plot, it wouldn't be long.

Titus would send the chosen squad—Talasa Combat Squad—to eliminate the Tyranid Hive Tyrant on Avarax.

This was to temporarily weaken the Tyranid's offensive against the Astropathic communication station.

Thereby covering Titus himself, allowing him to send a message to Calgar via the Astropath.

And at the end of the game, Calgar did indeed bring a portion of Ultramarines reinforcements to support the Recidious System.

Although the game didn't explicitly state that Calgar brought Librarian units.

Marcus did not intend to take that risk.

He had to complete the main quest given by the system before Calgar arrived.

Thereby leaving the Warhammer Universe, a world that was still too dangerous for him at the moment.

Just as Marcus was touring the mess hall for the mortal servants on the Severian, led by the two Astartes.

One of the Astartes suddenly stopped, as if listening intently to something.

Half a minute later, this Astartes turned his head and said to Marcus in a deep voice:

"To the bridge, Captain Archellan wants to see you."

Marcus was stunned for a moment after hearing this, but quickly reacted and nodded.

Subsequently, the three of them rushed to the bridge of the Severian.

Stepping out of the elevator, Marcus immediately saw Titus, Chairon, and Gadriel.

They were standing beside Acheran.

And after looking around, Marcus also found that all the mortal servants on the bridge had been cleared out.

Only the Astartes and Tech-Priests remained.

Seeing this, Marcus's eyes narrowed slightly.

He immediately recalled the plot from the original game, which occurred after Nozick's death, Titus's first contact with the psychic disaster energy source, and his return to the Severian by ship.

At this time, although Titus already knew about the aurora project, he didn't know it was related to the psychic disaster energy source he had crushed on Glaia.

After reminding Acheran of the signs of Chaos Gods in the system.

Titus and his group would receive new orders to locate and find Morias Leuze, Nozick's apprentice.

This was to ensure the aurora project could proceed smoothly, thereby eliminating the Tyranid within the system.

Marcus thought, Captain Archellan probably called him for this matter.

Seeing Marcus enter the bridge, Acheran directly said to those present:

"Lieutenant Marcus Aurelius will temporarily join your team to complete the mission on Avarax. Titus, you are responsible for explaining the mission details and objectives to him."

"Yes, sir!"

After giving the order, Acheran looked at Marcus again, and said with a serious expression: "Lieutenant Marcus Aurelius, I hope you do not disappoint the blessing the Emperor has bestowed upon you."

"In the name of the Emperor and by Holy Terra, I swear to complete the mission!"

Marcus hammered his right fist against his left chest, stating firmly.

After hearing Marcus's words, Acheran didn't say much more, simply waving his hand to signal everyone to leave.

Subsequently, Marcus followed Titus, Chairon, and Gadriel into the elevator and left the bridge.

On the slowly descending elevator, Titus didn't idle; he began to use the free time to explain the mission objectives to Marcus.

It was exactly as Marcus had guessed.

Titus and his two companions were to go to Hive World Avalax to locate Morias Leuze.

After listening to Titus's explanation, Marcus nodded, indicating he understood.

After Titus finished explaining the mission objectives, the elevator also reached the bottom, arriving at the hangar.

Stepping out of the elevator, Marcus noticed.

Inside the hangar, numerous Tech-Priests were calibrating various war equipment and vehicles.

And even more mortal servants and servitors were rapidly transporting war materials, loading them onto Thunderhawk Gunships, Repulsor tanks, and other vehicles.

This was the mobilization work before a war.

At this time, most of the Imperial fleet had already sailed from the planet Kadaku, advancing towards Avarax.

This action indicated that the Imperium of Man had abandoned the jungle world Kadaku.

After Nozick's death, there was no longer any need for the Imperial fleet to remain on Kadaku.

Once above Avarax.

Hundreds of Astartes on the Severian would need to be urgently deployed to various important positions within the Hive City to assist the Imperial Guard in defensive work.

Without further delay, the four of them immediately walked towards a Thunderhawk Gunship in the hangar.

As they passed a facility of the Adeptus Mechanicus, a voice with an electronic tone suddenly stopped them.
