Chapter 4 - Elder Mo Fu's Conclusion

[You have converted one Mid-Grade Spirit Stone to 100 System Points.

Congratulations, you are now 410 System Points in debt.]

Liu Wei was stunned. He had just put the Mid-Grade Spirit Stone in his pocket and it suddenly vanished.

Liu Wei could not be bothered arguing with the system as he has to entertain Elder Mo Fu.

Elder Mo Fu, on the other hand, tried his best to hide his reaction.

The spirit stone suddenly vanished! Just like that! Was it instantly consumed by Mr. Liu Wei? As expected of Mr. Liu Wei. There's no doubt. He is an immortal who ventured in the Mortal World, hoping to understand the world to ascend in the higher realm.

Elder Mo Fu was not aware how much his thoughts ran wild.

In the end, after the tea was finished, their conversation ended.

Elder Mo Fu was now in a dilemma.

His main agenda in coming here, aside from returning the book and paying the Mid-Grade Spirit Stone to Mr. Liu Wei, was finally here.

However, he was not able to find the courage.

In the end, his actions betrayed him as Liu Wei noticed his hesitation.

Liu Wei said, "Speak what comes into your mind, Elder Mo Fu."

Elder Mo Fu was startled.

He exhaled for quite a long time.

Now that Mr. Liu Wei himself took the initiative, he did not want to hesitate.

He stuttered, "C-Can I borrow the book of Senior Yan Qingshan? When he transcended to Sword Master?

How much if I borrow it for six months?"

Liu Wei was surprised.

However, he anticipated it.

He sighed.

He was silent for a minute, as though pondering.

Elder Mo Fu broke into sweats, as a result, lowering his head, not daring to stare at Mr. Liu Wei.

Silence ensued, the only noise echoing was his rapid heart beat.

Liu Wei heard it and inwardly sighed.

He was not silent out of pondering, he was silent because he was waiting for the system itself to initiate a mission.

Books of Dao, especially insights from cultivators in the past, obviously have levels.

In fact, at the moment, in all library sections, he was only able to gain access on the basic level.

For instance, in cultivation technique, he only has access to Body Tempering.

For him to gain access on another level, he has to buy it from the system… out of System Points.

However, how would he be able to buy now he was heavily in debt?

He could not help but sigh for a long time inwardly.

Since the system was being silent, he asked, "System, can you not give me a mission to invest in him once again?"

[No. If he is really worth being invested in. He must give a High-Grade Spirit Stone first.]

Liu Wei's eyes widened.

And then he tilted his head sideways.

He pondered. I'm not sure how valuable that is. But it should be a hundred times more valuable than a Mid-Grade Spirit Stone.

Liu Wei rarely interacted with the outside world. His library was located in the outskirts of the Radian Flame City, the capital city of the Kingdom of Jinwu.

His competitive businesses were foods and clothing. As a result, even his library was quite a bit hidden.

Although it was eye-catchy since there was a library when there was already a Grand Library of Kingdom of Jinwu in the city, people would only spare a glance at the inside and decided to not enter.

After all, the library was a hundred times less attractive than the Grand Library of the Kingdom of Jinwu.

What would they expect?

Knowing he did not have a single coin in his pocket, he did not leave the library.

His food and accommodation was already provided by the system anyway.

With books around, why would he have to leave and touch some grass?

Hence, he was unaware of the actual value of the type of Spirit Stones.

Without hesitation, he replied to Elder Mo Fu, "Elder Mo Fu, you know that I will only be able to provide the original. In other words, the price might be higher.

Now that I have shown my credibility, I won't be shy anymore.

If you are able to give a High-Grade Spirit Stone in advance, then I'll let you borrow it."

Elder Mo Fu received a massive shock in his life.

At first, he was extremely delighted.

But now, he despaired.

His thoughts screamed loudly.

Where will I find such a treasure?! Only the royal family has access to it!

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

He ruminated. Mr. Liu Wei obviously has not known much about the Mortal World. As expected of a man from the Immortal World. I should remind him of that. Politely. Mhm.

After calming himself down, he opened his eyes and smiled brightly.

He said, "I'm afraid I won't be able to find one, even if I work hard for the next ten years."

Liu Wei was surprised. He pinched his chin. I guess, the system is being too much. System, what do you think?

[Then, 100 Mid-Grade Spirit Stones. Half a year at most. If he is unable to provide, then we will not invest in him anymore.]

Liu Wei was shocked, especially from the system's tone.

The system's voice was tailored to his taste, according to her.

Hence, he was already used to her feminine, middle-aged voice.

Now, she was talking in a rather harsh tone.

In contrast with her usual gentle tone.

He sighed.

He repeated what he said to Elder Mo Fu.

Elder Mo Fu was flabbergasted.

However, he quickly realized something.

Mr. Liu Wei would not suggest it if it is really impossible. He must have believed I'd be able to do it. Of course, if I have to work hard and be smart. Since he has that much trust in me, to the point he gave me the opportunity to become a Sword Master in the future, I should not waste it.

He felt like crying after reaching his own conclusion.

He immediately grabbed Liu Wei's hands and exclaimed with teary eyes, "Thank you, Mr. Liu Wei. I won't disappoint you. Half a year is enough. If I fail, I'll retire cultivating!"

Liu Wei was stunned.

Before he was able to process what had just happened, Elder Mo Fu already stood up and walked to the door with a determined expression.

Liu Wei was helpless.

As if I can still say something with that resolution!
