"I can feel it… an extremely ancient, extremely vast fragment of will is attached to this energy and these ruins. It's filled with greed, destruction, and hatred toward life. Those black-robed men are nothing more than its claws and servants."
Fragments of information snapped together, and a terrifying truth gradually surfaced.
None of this was an accident.
The subway station invasion, the appearance of the dark lord, the ritual deep underground, this ancient cave altar, and that mysterious, dangerous cube…
All of it was part of a massive conspiracy.
Behind it was an ancient dark force that had existed for who knows how long—perhaps sealed away, perhaps sleeping. Their goal was to use the cube's power to awaken a terrifying being called the "Dark Demon God," and then devour the light—ruling, or even destroying, the entire world.
"These lunatics…" Captain America said grimly, tightening his grip on his shield. He'd lived through wars and seen evil up close, but gambling the entire world on a mad scheme like this still made his blood boil.
"We have to stop them. We can't let them succeed." Spider-Man's voice still carried a young man's tone, but his resolve had never been firmer.
Saitama listened to their analysis. He lowered his head and glanced at the cube in his pocket, still faintly hot. "So this troublesome thing is a key?" He thought for a moment. "Then we can just smash it, right?"
"I'm afraid it's not that simple, Saitama," Doctor Strange shook his head. "If it's a key, it might also contain part of that Dark Demon God's power—or serve as a beacon. Destroying it blindly could trigger a more violent explosion, or even alert that existence ahead of time. We have to get it out first and deal with it safely… or seal it completely."
Saitama nodded as if he sort of understood. "Oh. Then we'll take it out first."
The goal was clearer and their determination stronger, but the danger hadn't gone anywhere. The dark forces had obviously realized what they were trying to do—and the crisis of the cube being taken. Even more violent, even more powerful dark monsters were driven out of the spatial rifts, launching near-suicidal charges to intercept them.
The road ahead became harder and harder.
But at the same time, based on Doctor Strange's senses, they were getting closer and closer to that "thin point" in the energy—
Most likely the exit.
Hope was right ahead.
And the final roadblock… was about to appear.
Just as they fought and pushed forward, already faintly feeling a trace of fresher airflow—something different from the filthy air inside the cave—
The entire cavern suddenly shook!
A terrifying pressure that made souls tremble slammed down from the front like a solid weight, instantly surpassing the combined menace of every monster they'd faced so far!
Rumble… rumble…
Along with heavy footsteps, like a mountain itself was moving, an unimaginably enormous shadow slowly rose from the mouth of the massive passage ahead—
Completely blocking their path!
What kind of nightmare of a beast was it?
Its body was truly mountain-sized. Standing before it, they were like ants staring up at a towering peak. Its surface was covered in thick armor that gleamed with an obsidian-dark luster, and that armor was riddled with twisted patterns—like agonized human faces carved into it. Countless thick limbs, like gigantic spears, jutted from both sides of its body to support that unbelievably heavy mass.
