Spider-Man and Hawkeye took advantage of the moment—while the Dark Beast's attention was completely locked onto Saitama—and sprinted along the rock walls on both sides.
"Peter, get me to a higher spot on its flank!" Hawkeye shouted.
"Hang on!" Spider-Man fired a webline, wrapped Hawkeye, and used a swinging throw to launch him toward the perfect firing angle. Midair, Hawkeye drew his bow, eyes sharp as a hawk's, searching for gaps in the armor or a point where the energy flow looked abnormal.
When the Dark Beast realized its energy breath wasn't working, it let out an enraged roar and lifted a massive limb like a falling pillar, slamming it down toward Saitama—who was still holding back the surging energy torrent. At the same time, the countless blood-red eyes all over its body began firing searing destructive beams, indiscriminately sweeping the entire cavern!
The battle hit its most brutal phase.
Saitama, tanking the energy torrent, casually dodged or swatted aside the falling giant feet and beams. Wanda's and Strange's spells kept detonating into dazzling bursts of light across the monster's body. They still couldn't deal a fatal blow, but they successfully drew part of its attention and steadily weakened it. Spider-Man and Hawkeye, meanwhile, narrowly avoided beams and falling rubble while continuously probing for openings with relentless attacks.
At last—after Hawkeye fired a string of pinpoint explosive arrows into the same seam in the armor again and again, and Wanda followed with a focused surge of chaos magic—the thick plating on the Dark Beast's lower abdomen finally cracked. Beneath it, a faintly pulsing energy core was exposed, beating like a heart of darkness!
"Abdomen! Its weak point is the abdomen!" Hawkeye bellowed himself hoarse.
"Abdomen, huh?" Saitama heard him.
He stopped resisting the dark torrent—
The instant he let go, the torrent blasted past both sides of him, tearing into the distant rock wall behind and obliterating huge sections—
And he locked his gaze onto the faintly throbbing dark core now exposed by the broken armor.
The Dark Beast seemed to sense the danger. It roared—rage laced with a sliver of fear—and tried to retract its limbs to shield its abdomen. At the same time, it went even more berserk, spraying energy and beams wildly. Dozens of blood eyes snapped to Saitama, unleashing a crushing psychic shock and multiple annihilating light pillars at once!
"No way!" Wanda snapped, her eyes fully flooded with crimson chaos power as she thrust both hands upward. Several of the Dark Beast's massive limbs—those trying to cover its abdomen—were forcibly held in place, as if seized by invisible giant hands, their motion suddenly stalling!
Strange also pushed his power to the limit. The Eye Of Agamotto burst with emerald radiance, and in a localized area near the Dark Beast's head, the flow of time was forcibly slowed—making its attacks and reactions lag by a deadly half-beat!
Spider-Man cranked every remaining web-shooter to maximum and fired at the monster's face and eyes. The webs couldn't hurt it, but the sheer volume of sticky webbing severely disrupted its vision.
Hawkeye fired his last few custom armor-piercing arrows, each one slamming precisely into the connective structures around the exposed core. The arrows couldn't punch deep enough to finish the job, but they aggravated the weak point further. The Dark Beast thrashed in pain, growing even more frantic—yet that same agony pried open an even bigger opening.
Everyone's efforts bought Saitama that fleeting, perfect moment to strike.
