Chapter 51 - No one at home

I sat in the library, my pen scritching away on my jotting note when my phone lit up with a text message.

I glanced at it and saw it was from Duck-Hwan.

He probably already picked the place he wants us to have dinner in.

I picked up the phone and opened our chat.

[Hey, this is Duck-Hwan. I've made the reservation for the dinner.

The Location is Soirée Grill, 7:30 PM. I made a reservation.

I'll be there before you arrive so please show up (⁠っ⁠˘̩⁠╭⁠╮⁠˘̩⁠)⁠っ]

The last bit of the text held a bit of desperation, and I could tell Duck-Hwan was worried I wouldn't show up even after he went so far as to pick a place like Soirée Grill.

It was a fancy restaurant, one that I was slightly familiar with.

And it wasn't just fancy. It was the kind of place people went for anniversaries or proposals, romantic dates... not apology dinners.

I could tell what he was trying to pull, but just knowing doesn't mean anything is going to change anyway.

I rubbed my eyes, exhaling tiredly.
