Chapter 15 - Chapter 10 The Farmer and the Knight

Word spread quickly through the Rift and neighboring lands that Hassan, the farmer who bridged worlds, had been challenged by Haroun—the Cyclops warrior known for his strength and honor. No one knew what to expect from the duel, but all sensed its importance.

At dawn, the fields became the arena. Hassan arrived wearing simple clothes but carrying the weight of his community's hopes. Haroun stood tall, a massive figure with a single eye that gleamed like polished obsidian. He nodded respectfully, but his stance was firm.

"Farmer," Haroun said, his voice deep and steady. "I challenge you not for conquest but for respect. If you win, your rule here is accepted by my clan. If I win, the Rift's newcomers must leave."

Hassan met his gaze without flinching. "I accept."

The duel began with a clash of raw power. Haroun's mighty arms swung heavy blows, each one threatening to shatter the earth. Hassan, quick and resourceful, dodged and countered with moves learned from years of farming—using the terrain, his staff, and sharp instincts.

As the battle wore on, it became clear that Hassan was more than just a farmer. His deep connection to the land gave him strength beyond muscle. He summoned the earth's energy, causing vines to rise and entangle Haroun's legs.

The Cyclops struggled but laughed, impressed. "You fight with the spirit of the Rift itself."

With a final, careful strike, Hassan disarmed Haroun. The warrior fell to one knee, breathing hard but smiling.

"You have my respect, Farmer Hassan," Haroun declared. "May your rule bring prosperity and peace."

From that day, the Rift's newcomers looked to Hassan not just as a farmer, but as a leader worthy of trust and honor.
