Chapter 19 - Chapter 4 Humans Arrive

The Rift Farmers' Guild had barely settled into its rhythm when news spread like wildfire: people from neighboring villages were approaching the Rift.

Hassan stood at the edge of the fields, watching as a caravan of villagers approached, their carts creaking under the weight of goods. They carried sacks of grain, pottery, and woven cloth, but their eyes held more than just curiosity — some glinted with suspicion, others with greed.

Patrick, standing beside Hassan, whispered, "They're not just here to trade. I can feel it."

As the villagers crossed the threshold, Hassan stepped forward, hands raised in greeting. "Welcome to our land. We seek peace and cooperation."

The village leader, a tall man named Juma, nodded curtly. "We've heard of your Guild. Some say it's a miracle, others a threat. We come to trade — and to see if this Rift holds anything valuable."

Among the villagers were spies, subtle and watchful, trying to uncover the Guild's secrets and weaknesses. Hassan sensed their intent but kept his calm.

Over days, trade deals were made: seeds exchanged for tools, magic charms for livestock. Trust grew slowly, but the tension lingered beneath the surface.

One night, Patrick confronted Hassan. "We can't let our guard down. These villagers might be our allies or our enemies."

Hassan nodded solemnly. "We'll welcome them, but the Guild must stay united. The Rift is our home now — and we will protect it."

As the humans mingled with spirits and farmers, a new chapter of cooperation — and caution — began.
