"Huh!" Freya grunted as she walked toward her room, holding the uncomfortable broken heels in her hands.
It wasn't walking across the garden to the Alpha's manor, barefooted with her footwears in her hands that made her angry and looking grim, it was the day's events.
"What could that possibly mean? Has my touch suddenly become a deadly poison? I mean, even if I can't..." She was wondering inwardly but the thoughts died in her mind when she caught sight of what awaited her.
Sabine!
The maid sat slumped by the room's door. And from her crouched form and posture, with her hair disheveled, anybody could see that she was exhausted.
However, the moment she spotted Freya approaching, her once worried face broke into a small smile, her eyes lit up with relief.
"My Lady! Oh, thank the Moon Goddess, you are safe!" Sabine shouted, scrambling to her feet and rushing toward Freya with arms outstretched for an embrace.
