King Apollo's POV
Apollo's heart broke as he stared at the impossible choice before them.
"I can't abandon my people," he said, watching the visions of his realm burning. "But I can't abandon Sunny either."
"And I can't lose Luna," Celeste whispered, tears streaming down her face. "She's all I have left."
The Shadow King watched them struggle with obvious sadness. "You're facing the same choice you made twenty-three years ago. The same choice that destroyed your happiness forever."
"What do you mean?" Apollo demanded.
"Show them," the Shadow King said to the portal magic. "Show them the real beginning of their story."
The visions around them shifted to show something Apollo had tried to forget. He saw himself as a twelve-year-old boy, standing in a secret garden where the Day and Night Realms touched each other.
"I remember this place," Celeste gasped. "The Hidden Garden."
