Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: The Rise of Ultron

"We should be meeting for the first time, right? You seem to have a big grudge against me?" Tony's face darkened.

"Yes, I do. Because of you, my father is dead!" Black Panther's voice was filled with fury.

"What do you mean by that? I never killed your father. I could sue you for slander!" Tony's tone was sharp.

"Slander? You still don't know how much harm your arrogance has brought to this world!" Black Panther roared.

With that, he pressed a device on his arm, and a holographic projection appeared before them.

The recording showed Ulysses Klaue leading soldiers with high-heat weapons sneaking into Wakanda. After that, images of Killian and Maya Hansen performing human experiments with the Extremis virus appeared.

"Maya... Killian!" Tony's eyes widened in shock.

"Now you see? Remember that night?" Black Panther grabbed Tony's collar, his eyes blazing with rage.

The recording had audio, so everyone clearly heard Maya and Killian's conversation.

"Thirteen years ago, you fooled this man and abandoned your woman. The two of them created the Extremis virus and later joined forces with Ultron. They infiltrated Wakanda, stole vibranium, and killed my father. All of this started because of you. Do you still think his death has nothing to do with you?" Black Panther hurled Tony to the ground, murderous intent burning in his gaze.

"Everyone calm down. Tony didn't want this, it was an accident!" Banner quickly tried to mediate.

"No, let him say it. He's right. This is all because of my arrogance. I'm sorry!" Tony said with guilt in his eyes as he looked at T'Challa.

"Everyone makes mistakes, T'Challa. If your father were alive, he wouldn't want you blinded by hatred. The real hand behind his death is Ultron. If we don't stop him, more people will die!" Nick Fury said gravely.

"That's right, brother. Tony was a jerk before, but he's trying to make things right. We should give him a chance!" Thor stepped forward.

Suddenly, a thunderous explosion shook the entire Helicarrier, throwing everyone to the floor.

"What happened?" someone shouted in shock.

The scene reminded them of the Battle of New York, and unease spread among them.

"Don't tell me someone hacked our Helicarrier again?"

"Correct!" A cold voice rang out as a hologram appeared.

It was Ultron.

Unlike before, his new body was sleek, refined, and intimidating. Every detail was carefully designed, and the frame was forged entirely from vibranium. His presence alone was suffocating.

This body was practically indestructible, far beyond ordinary weapons or even nuclear blasts. Ultron now held the strength to rival demigods, and he had an entire army of machines backing him.

"Doesn't this feel familiar? Avengers, you've been looking for me, and now I've come to you. Are you ready to be destroyed?" Ultron's chilling voice echoed like death itself, making everyone shudder.

The hologram vanished, followed by another explosion.

Thousands of drones swarmed toward the Helicarrier, firing blue ion cannons.

"Sir, it's bad. The Helicarrier's controls are locked. We've lost all authority!" Maria Hill's face was pale.

"Damn it, he hacked us!" Tony cursed, quickly summoning his armor with a gesture. Within seconds, the pieces snapped into place around him.

"Whoa, automatic suit assembly, that's awesome!" Banner exclaimed.

"JARVIS, what happened? Weren't you securing the system?" Tony demanded.

"Sir, apologies. The intruder's power is far beyond me," JARVIS replied flatly.

"Forget it. Ultron's self-evolution makes him impossible to contain after several iterations. Nick, switch to manual override!" Tony ordered.

Nick Fury nodded, signaling to Hill. "Go switch to manual control. Shut down auto-systems!"

"It's too late. The manual control room is destroyed. We can't switch!" Hill shook her head.

"Director, we're in freefall! Altitude is dropping fast!" a SHIELD agent shouted.

"What!?" Fury's face turned grim. "Where are we over?"

"Sokovia!" Hill replied.

"Damn it. That's a populated region with millions of civilians. If we crash, the casualties will be catastrophic. We must stop this!" Fury's voice was heavy.

Another barrage of explosions shook the Helicarrier. Ultron's drones were breaching.

Tony quickly jumped into the pilot console, his hands flying over the keys. "You guys deal with the bots. Leave this to me!"

"Sir, we only have forty seconds before impact!" JARVIS warned.

"I know. I can't break Ultron's firewall in that time, but I can activate the backup propulsion system!" Tony said confidently.

He struck the keys, and the emergency thrusters roared to life. The Helicarrier steadied in midair, halting its deadly descent.

"We're safe?" relief washed over the group.

"I'd say so," Tony grinned.

In Sokovia below, Ultron saw this and roared in fury. "Damn you, Tony Stark! Wanda, pull that ship down!"

Wanda hesitated. "There are too many people below. If we drop it, countless innocents will die. Our fight is with the Avengers, not them."

"Hesitation is your weakness. Do as I command, or repeat your past failures!" Ultron snarled.

Before Wanda could act, a bolt of lightning struck the ground. Thor landed with Mjolnir, radiating power.

"You worthless traitor!" Ultron roared, and in rage, he turned on Wanda, striking her with brutal force. She was hurled into the slums, coughing blood.

"Sister!" Pietro shouted, rushing to her side.

"I'm not dead yet, but we were deceived. Ultron doesn't just want the Avengers, he wants to wipe out all humanity. We must stop him!" Wanda gasped.

Ultron sneered. "Too late to realize that now."

Thor hurled Mjolnir, but Ultron blocked it effortlessly with a red energy blast from a ring on his finger.

"What is that power?" Thor was shocked.

Wanda's eyes widened. She knew it too well. It was her chaos magic, siphoned and weaponized through Ultron's device.

He had never trusted them. He only used them to fuel his weapon.

Ultron turned to Thor. "This isn't your world, god of Asgard. Leave, or I'll bury you here!"

"Bury me? You're not strong enough," Thor growled, summoning Mjolnir back to his hand.

But once again, Ultron's red barrier deflected the attack and blasted Thor away.

Furious and humiliated, Thor charged again. At the same time, Pietro flashed forward, fists clenched, determined to avenge Wanda.

But Ultron caught him with ease, gripping his throat.

"Impossible!" Pietro's eyes widened in disbelief.

"You thought your speed made you invincible? I've built high-speed trackers into my eyes, improved a million times. I can trace even photons. You'll never outrun me," Ultron sneered.

His arm morphed into a blade, and with a swift strike, he pierced through Pietro's chest.
