Virginia, East Coast, Marvel Universe.
At a harbor on the eastern seaboard, a man in a long black robe embroidered with the image of a Tree of Life knelt solemnly on the ground in prayer.
Behind him, more than fifty others men, women, young and old were also kneeling, all dressed in the same black garb. Many had bandages wrapped around their bodies: burn victims, people with broken bones, patients with damaged eyesight… injuries of every kind.
Their voices rose together in reverence:
"Great Lord of Life, you have given us hope!"
"You light the road ahead for us!"
"You are the source of our lives!"
"You are our faith!"
"You are the supreme existence!"
Even the children, too young to fully understand, bowed their heads under their parents' guidance.
The man kneeling at the very front was the leader of this group the priest of a newly formed sect known as the Church of Life.
His role was akin to that of a high-ranking pastor.
With passion in his voice, the priest proclaimed:
"Great Lord of Life, you are the master of all living things, your divine might is supreme!
May your power be eternal, your holy fire never extinguished!
Please accept our humble offerings!
Please bless your lowly followers with your protection!"
The gathered worshipers echoed:
"Great Lord of Life, please accept our offering!"
They waited anxiously. Would the god they worshipped truly accept what they had brought?
It was an unusual sacrifice a retired Benson-class destroyer. Offering a warship to a god was… unconventional, but the priest had insisted it was a direct divine command. If the ritual succeeded, the Lord of Life would bless them, curing their ailments.
That was why the congregation consisted entirely of the sick and injured. Ordinary people wouldn't believe such a claim. Even among these followers, most were new converts only "shallow believers," outwardly devout but inwardly doubtful.
The Divine Realm, The Domain of Life
In the divine realm, Jason Kin sat cross-legged on a massive branch of the Life Tree, his expression calm.
A month ago, he had transmigrated into the Marvel Universe not as an ordinary human, but as a god. More precisely, a demi-god who commanded the power of life.
In Marvel's power scale, this put him at roughly sub-Skyfather level, comparable to early-stage Thor. In an ordinary world, that would be more than enough. But this was Marvel a universe where Earth could be wiped out on a whim.
Titans like Thanos, the Ancient One, the Grandmaster, and Surtur possessed not only near-immortal lifespans but also terrifying might far beyond his own.
If he wanted to survive, even as a demi-god, he had to grow stronger much stronger.
His path was clear:
Recruit believers.
Gather faith.
Condense divine power.
Ignite his divine fire.
Raise his divine kingdom.
Become a true god.
Thus, he had founded the Church of Life, appointing the priest, Wogg, as his earthly agent to recruit followers.
The fifty-plus people praying at the harbor were the first batch. And today was the first time he would personally receive an offering.
And the reason the sacrifice was a retired destroyer? It was directly tied to his divine authority and yes, it was his idea.

Most Marvel heroes are Tier 4 or above; some even reach Tier 9. Even as a demi-god, he wasn't far from them in power but that wasn't enough for him.
His domain, Seed of Life, allowed him to command the essence of living things a mighty, almost overpowered authority. Yet, in his current weak state, he could only rely on two Lv1 divine arts:
Holy Light of Life - heals the wounds of his followers.
Vitality Drain - absorbs the life force of living beings to temporarily strengthen his own body.
Both were useful, but his true favorite was the third:
Mechanical Life Awakening - a unique, unlevelled divine art that could not be given to followers. Using faith power, he could grant life to machines, transforming them into humanoid forms… always female.
Yes he could literally turn warships into ship girls.
And with that, the Church of Life's future was about to change forever.
