Chapter 19 - Sweeping Away a Thousand Troops Like a Rushing Tide

"Are you going to get involved?"

Daredevil's brow furrowed beneath his mask as he "looked" at Zhou Cheng and asked in a low voice.

"Of course."

Zhou Cheng nodded, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "I wouldn't have known otherwise, but now that I've stumbled upon this, there's no way I can just stand by!"

Daredevil was silent for a moment.

But he didn't say much more.

As a superhero who fights against crime himself, Daredevil could understand Zhou Cheng's decision.

To be honest, if Daredevil were in Zhou Cheng's shoes, he wouldn't stand idly by either.

Isn't that what a superhero should do?

Moreover.

Now wasn't the time to play the hero.

With such a powerful ally, the hostages' safety was that much more assured.

How could Daredevil possibly refuse?

"Alright, let's go together!"

"But, can you take me with you when you fly?"

Raising his head again, Daredevil simply made this request to Zhou Cheng.

Even though he couldn't see.

But with his radar sense, Daredevil already knew that Zhou Cheng could fly.

And hitching a ride with Zhou Cheng was the fastest way to get to Pier 82.

Take Daredevil along?

Zhou Cheng fell into a slight contemplation.

To be honest.

With his current strength, no matter the scale of the ambush, Zhou Cheng was confident he could handle it.

He didn't need Daredevil at all.

But then again…

Well.

This time was truly different, as there were a lot of hostages involved.

Zhou Cheng couldn't just focus on fighting criminals and harvesting Source Points, leaving those hostages in danger, could he?

He didn't want a repeat of what happened to Karen Page.

Because Zhou Cheng wasn't confident he could guarantee the hostages wouldn't get hurt.

Considering all these factors, Zhou Cheng agreed.

Clap!

Reaching out, he grabbed Daredevil's shoulder. Zhou Cheng's mind stirred, and his wings unfurled.

Swoosh, he vanished into the night sky.

Guided by Daredevil, the human radar.

Zhou Cheng arrived at Pier 82 in a mere ten minutes.

Swoosh!

The two landed in a dark corner.

Looking around.

Ahead lay a collection of wooden houses built by the water, along with numerous shipping containers and prefabricated houses.

Well, Zhou Cheng was starting to be grateful that he brought Daredevil along.

Otherwise, he really wouldn't be able to find where those hostages were being held.

"Their hearts are racing, their breaths are rapid, they're crying, they're terrified."

"They're being held there!"

Daredevil just tilted his head and listened for a moment, then pinpointed the hostages' location with precision.

He pointed a finger in the direction of one of the wooden huts.

It had to be said, Daredevil's abilities were incredibly convenient for reconnaissance.

"What about the defenses?"

Zhou Cheng then asked the most crucial question.

"There are eight of them, strong and burly, and there's a pungent smell of gunpowder. They're all armed."

Daredevil frowned slightly. This kind of setup was, to put it mildly, a headache.

Even he felt a great deal of pressure.

So, eight gunmen?

Zhou Cheng was thinking about other things.

Based on his experience of harvesting, ordinary gunmen could only contribute 3 Source Points.

Of course, that was just for handguns, a standard level of firepower.

If they had submachine guns, semi-automatic rifles, or other heavy weapons...

The value might be even higher.

But regardless, even if all the gunmen were using handguns, this haul wouldn't be small.

"Let's divide up the tasks, Daredevil!"

After a moment of thought, Zhou Cheng quickly made a decision. "I'll take on the gunmen, draw their attention, and you focus on secretly rescuing the hostages."

The task Zhou Cheng assigned himself was undoubtedly dangerous.

But considering Zhou Cheng's invulnerable body and his incredible strength, Daredevil didn't object.

He agreed immediately.

He naturally knew that this was the most reasonable and efficient approach.

"Let's move out!"

Nodding at Daredevil, Zhou Cheng wasted no time and began to stealthily approach the small cabin.

Daredevil also moved swiftly, leaping and bounding like a nimble cat.

He vanished into the darkness.

Clang, clang, clang!

Zhou Cheng approached the small cabin as if he were visiting a neighbor, and knocked on the door.

"Who is it!"

A low, deep voice came from inside.

Clang!

At the same time.

Zhou Cheng also heard the faint sound of a firearm being cocked.

If Zhou Cheng was Daredevil, he would have noticed the gunmen inside the cabin had been alerted.

Some held pistols, others carried semi-automatic rifles, and they began to cautiously approach the door.

After a quick exchange, one of the burly men in a leather jacket pressed his gun against the wooden door while carefully turning the handle of the lock.

Hmm?

Zhou Cheng's eyebrows twitched slightly.

Although he didn't possess Daredevil's heightened senses, he could clearly see a change in the light filtering through the door crack.

It was being blocked by a shadow.

Evidently.

"There are gunmen!"

Zhou Cheng didn't hesitate.

He threw a punch forward.

CRASH!

With a loud crash, Zhou Cheng had punched a large hole through the wooden door.

The leather-jacketed gunman behind the door shuddered violently and was sent flying backward.

He crashed to the ground like a dead dog, unmoving.

What's going on?

The other gunmen were all taken aback.

The next moment.

Tat-tat-tat! Tat-tat-tat!

The gunmen mercilessly raised their firearms, opening fire wildly in the direction of the doorway.

In the dead of night, the piercing sound of gunfire was utterly shocking.

It echoed far and wide.

Splinters of wood flew everywhere.

The wooden door and wall were riddled with holes in an instant, reduced to splinters.

Swoosh!

About half a minute later.

A burly man with a scar on his face made a gesture, and everyone stopped firing.

Then.

Two men with semi-automatic rifles began to approach the door.

Go check it out.

However, when they went outside, they found that the area was completely empty, with no bodies on the ground!

Not even a single drop of blood!

So...

Their shooting spree had been for nothing?

Who the hell could dodge that kind of firepower?

Swish!

Suddenly, a shadow emerged from the ground.

The two gunmen immediately became alert and looked in the opposite direction of the shadow.

They saw a person standing on the roof.

A masked man!

A man with a pair of feathered wings on his back!

The two gunmen reacted quickly, immediately raising their guns at Zhou Cheng.

Swoosh swoosh swoosh! But they didn't even have time to fire before Zhou Cheng shot them down with a few feathers.
