It included their original Skrull forms, their current human disguises, permanent residences, and other pertinent information—everything clearly marked.
"So these are the Skrulls? Ugly as hell."
Tony couldn't help but wrinkle his nose, his usual sharp tongue at work. Then he glanced at Fury."All of them here?"
"All the Skrulls I have located are here," Nick Fury replied, serious as ever.
"With this few people, they can't possibly pull off a secret invasion."
A smirk crept across Tony's face. He couldn't resist mocking Fury—not out of malice, but because this operation really was a bit amateurish.
Fury, the master spy, getting played by his own Skrulls? It was almost laughable.
"This is exactly why I'm sitting here," Fury said, unbothered, placing his coffee down."Notify me immediately if you discover anything."
He stood, waved at Tony, and walked off without looking back.
Tony followed suit about five minutes later, sliding into his luxury car and driving off as if nothing had happened.
Back at his mansion, Tony immediately spoke to J.A.R.V.I.S.:
"All the people on this list—monitor and track them twenty-four-seven."
Whirr!
J.A.R.V.I.S. instantly scanned all the names, confirming the command with Tony.
"For how long, sir?"
"Until we find more Skrulls," Tony replied.
"Understood."
True to form, J.A.R.V.I.S. began linking into every networked camera and microphone, locking onto every Skrull on the list. For J.A.R.V.I.S., this was effortless.
Leaning back on his luxurious sofa, Tony mused lazily:"Has it been a while since I last spoke to Helen Zhao… maybe I should check in?"
He had already reviewed her papers and research reports. While she hadn't created a regeneration cradle yet, her research trajectory suggested she would eventually. Tony was seventy percent certain—the Zhao in the diary and Dr. Helen Zhao were the same person.
Even for Tony Stark, he had to admit: a regeneration cradle would be a world-changing invention.
Meanwhile, aboard Sanctum One, the vast hall was dark, cold, and oppressive—like the deep, lonely night sky.
For mere mortals, it was intimidating. For Thanos, it was ambiance he enjoyed.
Seated on his throne, Thanos looked down at the kneeling Chitauri leader, The Other.
Yes, that was actually his name—a minor villain in the Marvel universe, mostly known for liaising with Loki on Thanos's behalf. Though he had limited appearances and wasn't heavily relied upon, The Other was still powerful enough to serve Thanos directly.
"Master, Ronan has agreed. He will use his power to locate the Orb," The Other reported, voice respectful.
"He made the right choice," Thanos said casually.
Ronan's fury over Xandar made him a useful tool. Still, he wasn't fully loyal—so Thanos decided to send Gamora and Nebula along as supervision.
Thanos then asked, "Besides the Orb, any leads on other stones?"
The Other's expression twisted; the Infinity Stones were notoriously difficult to track. Even the Orb's intel had been a struggle, often relying on partial leads.
"Only the Orb and possibly the Tesseract. No other information currently."
Thanos was unsurprised—he knew the power of the Stones.
"And the Nine Realms? Any disturbances?"
C53 was a trivial planet by galactic standards—far below most civilizations Thanos had conquered. But it was Odin's domain—a dangerous one.
Even an aged Odin remained formidable. If provoked, he could easily defeat Thanos, so Thanos approached Earth cautiously.
The Tesseract remained on his radar, but only at the right time.
"Recently, Asgard faced chaos. Frost Giants invaded, attempting to kill Odin, but failed. The second prince nearly destroyed Jotunheim. During this, Loki fell into the void," The Other reported.
Thanos's eyes gleamed.Opportunity.
Loki, Odin's son, was a perfect wild card. Dangerous, yes, but a potential trump card.
"Has Loki's body been recovered?" Thanos asked, voice deep and chilling.
The Other froze, then stammered: "Apologies, master, I didn't realize—"
Wham!
He felt the oppressive air thicken. Thanos glared.
"Whether it is important is for me to judge, not you."
The Other broke into a cold sweat: "Yes, master!"
"Confirm this immediately."
"Yes, master!"
Without hesitation, The Other mobilized all his resources to locate Loki or his body—though he feared it was futile, he dared not disobey Thanos.
Back on Earth, Tony Stark had no idea of Thanos's maneuvers. After teaming with Fury to monitor the Skrulls, Tony had been tracking their movements.
In just six months, Tony discovered numerous Skrull gathering points around the world—primarily in the U.S., but also in Japan—ranging from thousands to tens of thousands in each location.
By Tony's estimates, there could be hundreds of thousands of Skrulls hiding on Earth.
Stark immediately met with Fury to relay these shocking findings.
"Hundreds of thousands?" Fury almost couldn't believe it.
"The last list you gave me was thirty-four. Now… hundreds of thousands in just two weeks?"
Tony explained—while Skrulls could disguise themselves perfectly, infiltrating Earth at such numbers was astounding. Perfect camouflage might fool a few people, but hundreds of thousands? Impossible to hide entirely.
The implications were staggering. Earth could be facing an invasion on an unimaginable scale.
