Chapter 1 - Where It All Started

What about a woman whose life is a quiet symphony of elegance, where every detail is curated and nothing is accidental. And Everyone dreams of living in the lap of luxury, but this woman is already living that lavish life. Let's find out what goes on behind her fabulous life.

The room was silent except for the low hum of the air conditioner and the occasional creak of the old floor beneath the bed. Sunlight spilled through the half-drawn curtains, painting golden lines across the sheets. She stirred slightly, curled beneath the covers, lost in that fragile space between dreaming and waking.

Then-

Knock. Knock.

A slow, deliberate sound. Miss Clyde, are you awake?

Knock. Knock.

Pardon the hour, Miss Clyde, are you up?

Clyde: Yes, I am.

Can you please open the door?

Clyde: Wait a minute.

She slid her legs out from under the blanket, feet touching the cool floor. She moved cautiously toward the door and turned the knob.

Good morning, Miss Clyde.

Miss Clyde, it's time to begin your duties. And I prepared some food for you. How much time do I have? One hour, Miss.

Clyde: Okay, I'll get ready and wait for me on the ground floor.

Half an hour later...

She arrived on the ground floor, dressed in formal attire, pulled out a chair at the dining table, and began eating. Then her assistant broke the silence with a few careful words. There's something urgent I need to tell you.

Clyde: Alright, go ahead.

Miss, your mother said she'd like to have a conversation with you about marriage. She inquired about why her calls have been unanswered. Alright then, can we discuss my schedule? Miss, you're scheduled for a meeting with the department heads. And after that, you have free time. Okay then, I plan to see my mom.

five hours later...

The afternoon sun streamed through the spotless glass windows, casting warm golden patterns on the polished floor. The house was neat and clean, every cushion perfectly in place. In the corner of the living room, a soft cream-colored sofa stood like a cozy throne, and Clyde sat on that sofa waiting for her mother to talk about the marriage. It was a quiet afternoon.

She walked slowly into the room, holding a small plate of food in her hands. Her eyes searched for the sofa, and there, right at the corner, she sat on the sofa. Without a word, she smiled and lowered herself onto the cushion beside them. The food was warm, but the closeness felt warmer. They began to talk in low, easy voices. Why bring up marriage now, Mom? Minnie, it seems you've forgotten you've reached thirty. I'm not saying that you are old, but life moves faster than we think. She reached for Clyde's hand. I just want to know that when I'm not here anymore, there's someone who will care for you as much as I do. Okay, I got it, Mom, but where is my brother nowadays? What about his marriage?

After a brief pause. Her mother answered.

He is already married. When did this happen? Why wasn't I invited? I ask you, but you say you have to work on some important business and can't come. What is going on? Okay, Mom, bye, then I'll be back in the evening. But Clyde, if marriage isn't on your mind, still, take a look at this one person. Okay, Mom, I'll do as you wish. After a little conversation, Clyde stepped out, leaving her mother deep in contemplation about the consequences of her marrying.

With a quick motion, Clyde pulled the car door toward her. Inside the car, she sat with an unreadable expression. After a moment of wordless stillness, Clyde began to talk.

Clyde: You need to track down some info about this person.

Lara: Yes, miss.

Clyde: What's got my mother suddenly curious about marriage?

Clyde: Could you please let me know my next schedule, Lara?

Lara: You'll have to review certain issues in the office.

Six hours later....

After a long day, Clyde comes home and sits on the sofa. She asks the maid to bring him some cold water. Exhausted, she takes a moment to rest on the couch. At that moment, her mother comes in and asks how her day was. Clyde hugs her and replies, "It was a hectic day."

"What do you want to eat, my dear?" her mother asks.

Dodging the question of her mother, she asks

What kind of work does he do?"

"I don't have a clue, but I've heard that his family is very wealthy."

"But Mother, you need to gather more information about his family."

"I know that, Minnie. You don't need to worry about it; after all, you are my daughter."

"But, Mother, where is my brother these days?

He's in the city at the moment. I'll give him a call so he can join us for dinner

.Mother: Take a shower; I will make noodles for you, and your brother is also coming. We have a lot to discuss about this matter.

After showering, Clyde entered the dining hall and pulled out a chair to sit down. A maid then placed a full plate of noodles in front of her. As Clyde began to eat, someone approached from behind and placed a hand on her shoulder. "What are you eating, my little sister? If you want to eat, ask our mother; I won't give you any," her brother said. With that, he pulled out a chair and sat right beside Clyde.

Brother, I know that it's all your plan, right? Oh, my dear sister, why am I the only one who has to suffer? After all, we are brother and sister, so how can you live so happily? Clyde angrily says For sure, one day I am going to kill you.

Clyde: Hey, brother. Mom says you have already gotten married..

Mickie: Yes,

Clyde: You didn't even invite me.

Mickie: Mom called you that day, but you said you couldn't come.

Mickie: Don't overthink it; the marriage is being held privately.

Clyde: It sounds safe

The conversation continued, and listening to Mickie and Minnie's discussion made Mother very happy because their days were always busy. I thought they should take a week off.

After a long time, Mother called out to Minnie, saying she had gathered more information about him. However, Minnie replied, "But, Mother, you mentioned that his family is very wealthy. You know that people like that often have secrets. What if he is involved in some shady business?"

"Why are you thinking so much about it?" Mother responded. "Just go on a date and ask him."

Mickie interrupted the discussion and said You are right, Mom.

"You should keep quiet," Minnie shot back. "It's right to go on a date.

Didn't you arrange one already?"

"Of course! Why not?

But, Mother, if he isn't good-looking, I'm not going to marry him," Minnie insisted.

"Why would you even say that? You're not exactly the prettiest either," came a retort.

"Shut your mouth, you idiot!" Minnie snapped.

"Minnie, don't curse, and you too, Mickey, keep quiet," Mother interjected.

A week later....

Place: Clyde's office.....

"Miss, your mother mentioned that Mr. Leon Johnson is arriving today, and you need to go on a date with him."

"What about my schedule?"

"It is your mother's order, miss."

"Hey, Lara, do you have any ideas for the date? What kind of dress should I wear, and which restaurant should I book?"

"No need to worry, Miss. I have already prepared everything for you."

"What time will he arrive?"

"He will arrive at five PM, miss."

After finishing all her work, she walked toward the bedroom, her steps slow but graceful. Pushing the door open, her eyes fell upon a beautiful purple dress lying out neatly on the bed. Its soft fabric shimmered under the warm light. Clyde picked up the dress, a smile lighting her face. It's beautiful, she murmured

After all, she knows about my taste. Where should I start first? I should take a shower first. After showering, she fixes her hair and applies makeup, and wears a beautiful, simple chain with a red diamond on her neck. After she put the dress on, she misted her neck and wrists with the fragrant spray.

The soft scent of lavender body spray wafts through the air, adding a subtle touch of elegance to her evening. She takes a moment to relax, calm any nerves, and remind herself that it's okay to be herself. She confirms the date details to ensure everything goes smoothly. Before leaving, she does a final mirror check to ensure everything looks good and she feels confident.

One hour later

They are in an upscale rooftop restaurant, and city lights are twinkling below. The table has crystal glasses, a wine bottle with a price tag that could pay someone's rent, and two people who clearly know they are rich - but in very different ways.

Clyde: Nice to meet you, Mr Leon.

Leon responded with a slight nod, but Clyde was buried in thought on how to start a conversation, and the silence wrapped around them. Interrupting the stillness, Leon says What do you want to eat, Miss Clyde. But Clyde can't listen to his words, and Leon leans forward to move his hand toward her shoulder with a little shake. Clyde escapes through his imagination and says What happened? With a response, Leon says What do you want to eat, Miss Clyde.

Clyde: I'd like a cappuccino.

Clyde: What about you, Mr Leon?

Leon: I'm good with wine.

Clyde: Ok, then, tell me a bit about yourself.

Leon: What do you want to know, Miss Clyde?

Clyde: Like what kind of work do you do?

Leon: What about you, Miss Clyde? What kind of work do you do?

Clyde: I manage our family business.

Leon: I also play a role in our family business.

After a brief pause, Leon raised his glass and sipped his wine, and asked Clyde if you are looking forward to the date. Then we could arrange another meeting.

Clyde: Okay, then one more time.

The night air was cool as they stepped out of the restaurant. Streetlights painted a soft golden glow on the sidewalk. Leon walked her to her car, and as soon as Clyde unlocked her car. he opened her car door and waited until she was seated. Drive safe, he said, giving a small wave as she started the engine.

Goodnight, Miss Clyde, he called with a smile.
