Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Come to My Room After School

Chapter 8: Come to My Room After School

Beep, beep, beep!

The heart-stopping demonic sound filled the room.

Hoshikawa reached out a hand, broke the seal of his blanket, and turned off the alarm.

Technology in the ninja world was strangely developed; they had computers, refrigerators, and air conditioners, not to mention alarm clocks.

He checked the time; it was exactly six o'clock.

Although he wanted to see Konoha Village at four in the morning, he was still a child and needed plenty of sleep.

Hoshikawa changed his clothes and went out.

His plan was to run for half an hour to an hour, doing what he could.

Suddenly exercising intensely after a long period of inactivity was akin to repeatedly dancing on the edge of the underworld.

He had never had such a wonderful start; he didn't want to enjoy it for just three days.

Hoshikawa began running along the street.

He woke up quite early, so there weren't many pedestrians on the street, meaning no obstacles.

As time passed, Hoshikawa's breathing grew heavier, sweat poured down, and even his vision blurred.

Just then, a green light shone on his face.

Hoshikawa instinctively glanced.

Too early!

He saw legs flailing in the air.

He steadied himself; it was Might Guy, running on his hands.

"Are you running too?"

Might Guy asked excitedly.

He felt a thrill of encountering a kindred spirit.

In the current ninja world, taijutsu users were considered the lowest tier and weren't well-regarded.

His unusual training always drew ridicule from many people.

One could see a glimpse of this from Might Guy's father, Might Duy.

He alone kicked the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist into a "lucky trio," yet he was still a Genin.

Hoshikawa nodded, too out of breath to speak.

"You look familiar."

Might Guy blinked and suddenly recognized him. "You're yesterday's transfer student, what was your name, Hane-something?"

"Hane... Hoshikawa..."

Hoshikawa said, gasping for breath.

"Hane-what?"

Might Guy hadn't heard clearly and asked again.

"Hoshikawa!"

Hoshikawa raised his voice.

He finally understood Kisame Hoshigaki's feelings.

"Hoshikawa-kun, hello, I'm Might Guy."

Might Guy revealed his sparkling teeth and said, "Just call me Guy."

"Mm."

Hoshikawa was slightly startled and said, "You go ahead and run; I'll rest for a bit."

Besides his stamina reaching its limit, there was another reason: the system had a notification.

"Alright then."

Might Guy didn't force him, waving his hand.

Of course, the main reason was that Hoshikawa wasn't his eternal rival.

If it were Kakashi Hatake, he would definitely squeeze out all of his stamina.

"What an alien physique."

Hoshikawa muttered, watching him run on one hand.

He plopped down on a nearby step and, with a thought, opened the entry panel.

[E-rank Talent Entry: Robust Physique (Not Yet Acquired).]

[Trigger Condition: Body reaches minimum Genin level.]

[Current Progress: 1%.]

Since it's the minimum level, it couldn't be a Genin like Naruto Uzumaki.

Hoshikawa felt that the trigger condition for this entry wasn't particularly difficult; it just required persistence.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead and closed his eyes.

"Hoshikawa-kun, I'm back!"

Might Guy's voice was as full of vigor as ever.

Hoshikawa opened his eyes and saw him doing frog jumps.

He smiled and waved back.

After Might Guy left, he got up and ran towards Kurenai Yūhi's house.

By seven o'clock, the streets started to get lively.

Hoshikawa saw the meeting point with the Kumogakure ninja, the Konoha Knowledge Bookstore, but he didn't go in, to avoid any slip-ups.

As he passed a dango shop, he thought of Kurenai Yūhi and bought a box of takoyaki.

Hoshikawa returned home, just as Yūhi Shinku opened the door.

"Did you go for a run?"

Yūhi Shinku looked at the panting Hoshikawa, who seemed like he'd just been pulled out of water, a surprised expression on his face.

So diligent at such a young age?

Combined with his Yin Release talent, this child was destined for greatness.

"Good morning, Uncle Shinku."

Hoshikawa explained, "My body is a bit weak, so I decided to run and train."

Just then, a nearby door opened.

Kurenai Yūhi walked out, barefoot on the carpet, her hair disheveled.

She yawned and asked, "Why are you two up so early?"

"Kurenai, you should learn from Hoshikawa."

Yūhi Shinku sternly said, "Don't sleep in all day."

"Eh?"

Kurenai Yūhi looked around, still a bit confused.

What happened?

She looked exactly like a sleepy kitten who had just woken up.

"I bought you takoyaki."

Hoshikawa smiled and handed her a paper box.

He never thought he'd one day become 'the neighbor's good kid.'

"Not bad, you're already an understanding little brother."

Kurenai Yūhi's eyes sparkled as she looked at the takoyaki.

"..."

Yūhi Shinku showed a subtle expression.

He felt like some 'blondie' was trying to steal his precious daughter.

It must be a delusion.

Yūhi Shinku shook his head; they were just children, what was he thinking?

"This is just to thank you for lending me your study notes."

Hoshikawa explained earnestly.

"Abba abba."

Kurenai Yūhi mumbled indistinctly while chewing the takoyaki.

If it were anyone else, it might sound like cursing, but with her, it was just adorable.

After breakfast, Hoshikawa and Kurenai Yūhi headed to the Ninja Academy.

"Hoshikawa, did you finish your homework yesterday?"

Kurenai Yūhi turned to him and asked.

"Do you want to copy it?"

Hoshikawa raised an eyebrow and asked.

"How could I?"

Kurenai Yūhi put her hands on her hips and said, "I mean, if you have any questions you don't know how to do, I can help you."

"I actually do."

Hoshikawa had already figured out her personality and played along with her.

"Since you've asked so sincerely, I'll tell you then."

Kurenai Yūhi's lips curved into a smile, her eyes narrowing into slits, looking very pleased.

Hoshikawa asked questions as they walked.

He had enrolled two months late, so some questions he just guessed.

As the saying goes, "if it's three short and one long, pick the longest; if it's three long and one short, pick the shortest."

Anyway, Eiichirō knew his situation and wouldn't blame him.

"Understand?"

Kurenai Yūhi licked her lips and asked.

"I understand, but not completely."

Hoshikawa said with a smile.

"It's like this at first."

Kurenai Yūhi, acting like an experienced senior, said in a mature tone, "Come to my room after school, and I'll teach you properly."

Oh no, Sister Kurenai.

Hoshikawa returned to his seat.

He greeted Shizune and then opened the entry panel.

[E-rank Talent Entry: Academic Ace (Not Yet Acquired).]

[Trigger Condition: First in theoretical classes in the first semester.]

[Current Progress: 1%.]

Hoshikawa stroked his chin.

This entry was likely triggered because he had just had an academic exchange with Kurenai Yūhi.

He just wondered what an 'Academic Ace' did in the ninja world.

In the original story, Sakura Haruno was a top student, but before becoming Tsunade's apprentice, she could only hold her team back.
