Chapter 30: Rin, What Are You Doing?
Jiraiya didn't hesitate and walked into the bookstore.
As one of the Legendary Sannin, he absolutely had to offer some criticism.
"So lively?" Jiraiya's curiosity grew as he saw the bookstore packed with customers.
It seems this isn't just clickbait; there's actually something substantial here.
Jiraiya, seizing an opening, quickly managed to grab a copy.
His appearance didn't cause a stir.
Although he was famous, in a scene like this where everyone wished for "good people to live in peace," his fame didn't really matter.
Men, in this regard, were incredibly harmonious.
Jiraiya casually flipped open "Taimanin" and began to sample it.
Moments later, his expression changed.
He felt as though the door to a new world had opened, as if he had lived for thirty years in vain.
The popular ninja-themed stories in the ninja world were based on reality, making them quite common.
But "Taimanin" was different; it could be called a new genre of ninja fiction.
A near-future world, a sci-fi leaning style, sexy and hot heroines, and enemies like unheard-of demons.
"This novel truly delights me!" Jiraiya said, his face full of excitement.
He remembered the feeling from his first time at an izakaya, with two hostesses accompanying him.
Excited, anticipating, stimulated, and impatient.
"What's next?" Jiraiya reached the end, involuntarily exclaiming, "Why is there no more? Damn it!"
He took a few deep breaths, calming himself down.
After "The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi" was published, he had been thinking about a new novel, but he hadn't had any ideas.
Now, having read "Taimanin," inspiration suddenly burst forth.
Thinking of this, Jiraiya picked up the book and left the bookstore.
He needed to go back and start writing!
Konoha Hospital.
Hoshikawa, who was practicing his sword, stopped.
[E-rank Talent Entry: Hero.]
[Trigger Condition: "Taimanin" published.]
[Effect: Memory increased by 10% on top of original.]
[Note: Publishing more novels can evolve into D-rank entry Novelist.]
This works too?
But it had to be said, everyone had moments when they wished for a hero to appear.
Because they would leave after leaving a string of mysterious codes.
Disclaimer: No Calabash Brothers, no Journey to the West.
Hoshikawa closed his eyes.
He felt many vague pieces of knowledge become clear, and the knowledge he had already memorized became even more vivid.
Very good.
Hoshikawa was now confident he could secure first place in the final theoretical exam.
"Not practicing anymore?" Tsunade opened the window and asked.
"Are you going gambling again? Take a break," Hoshikawa looked at Tsunade, unable to resist complaining.
"You're so annoying, kid!" Tsunade clenched her fist, asking with an unfriendly gaze, "Are you coming or not?"
"I'm coming!" Hoshikawa said, giving in.
"That's a good kid," Tsunade casually pulled down the window, then walked up to him in her high heels, asking, "Leaving now?"
"Wait, I have a condition," Hoshikawa suddenly remembered something and asked, "Tsunade-sama, can you teach me how to use a scalpel?"
"A scalpel?" Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "You're too young to be a lead medical ninja for surgery right now."
Medical ninja scalpels came in two types: crafted scalpels and chakra scalpels.
Chakra scalpels were an A-rank difficulty medical ninjutsu, usually only mastered by Jonin.
"Not for surgery; I want to familiarize myself with its use beforehand," Hoshikawa, realizing her misunderstanding, explained.
"Is that so?" Tsunade mused for a moment. "Alright."
"Thank you, Tsunade-sama," Hoshikawa secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Actually, anyone could teach the use of a scalpel.
But Tsunade had more authority, making it easier for him to be convinced.
Evening.
Hoshikawa followed Tsunade home.
They had just come from the casino and then had a big meal on the way.
"Using a scalpel isn't too difficult," Tsunade took out a scalpel. "The hard part is precision, especially during surgery; there can't be even a millimeter of deviation."
Hoshikawa stood in front of her, listening and following her instructions.
Their operating subject was a live chicken they had bought from the izakaya earlier.
After being carved up, it eventually became their late-night snack.
Aside from everything else, Tsunade's roasted chicken technique was good.
The kid loved to eat it.
Hoshikawa inwardly gave her a five-star review.
The weekend was spent gambling and training.
It was a new week again.
The difference was that it was the beginning of March, and March was the last month of the first year.
In other words, Hoshikawa was about to go from a first-grade elementary student to a second-grade elementary student.
Truly commendable.
Hoshikawa suddenly thought of Kakashi Hatake.
According to the original timeline, he graduated from the Ninja Academy after one year and became a Genin.
With Hoshikawa's current strength, he could also graduate early.
But that's too dangerous!
Why could Kakashi Hatake still be on a team with Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara, even though he graduated several years early?
Because all of his previous teammates died, every single one.
Even with just his duodenum, he knew that the Ninja Academy was better.
Unless he became the "Tenri Pond Sword God," Hoshikawa would absolutely not graduate.
"Hoshikawa," a familiar voice rang out.
Hoshikawa looked up and saw the cute little loli standing gracefully in front of him.
"There's a problem I don't understand," Rin Nohara asked with a hint of embarrassment, "Can I ask you for help?"
Once was enough to lead to countless times.
Ever since Hoshikawa explained four ways to solve a problem to her last time, she would come to him whenever she encountered a difficult question.
Besides that, there was another reason: Tsunade.
"Let me see," Hoshikawa opened her notebook, thought for a moment, and then said, "This problem is quite difficult. Let me elaborate."
In the hallway outside the classroom.
Obito Uchiha walked excitedly and eagerly.
He had arrived exceptionally early today.
Because the old lady had something else to do, she didn't need him to help her cross the road.
"Rin is definitely going to be surprised," Obito Uchiha thought of Rin Nohara's reaction when she saw him, and the smile on his face grew wider.
He took a few steps forward, walked into the classroom, and then froze.
Oh my god!
Obito Uchiha saw Hoshikawa and Rin Nohara chatting and laughing happily. He, who usually loved to laugh, suddenly couldn't.
He quickly reacted, asking urgently, "Rin, what are you doing?"
"Obito?" Rin Nohara asked in surprise, "When did you get here?"
Hoshikawa was also surprised.
The always-late Obito Uchiha isn't late anymore?
"Hoshikawa is explaining a problem to me," Rin Nohara explained.
"Is he good?" Obito Uchiha couldn't help but frown.
He remembered that Hoshikawa's scores in last month's theoretical exam weren't ideal, far inferior to Rin Nohara's.
"Very good!" Rin Nohara said, a genuine emotion spilling out.
"I can do it too!" Obito Uchiha said quickly, looking at her expression.
"Huh?" Rin Nohara tilted her head, a little bewildered.
The reason Obito Uchiha was the "dead last" was because he always came in last in theoretical exams.
In the original story, he could use the Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu while still in school, so he certainly wasn't at the bottom in terms of actual strength.
"Here," Hoshikawa casually handed him the notebook.
Obito Uchiha instinctively glanced at it, and immediately broke into a cold sweat.
He recognized each individual character, but combined... was this even Words anymore?
