The endless sky trembled as a meteor tore through the constellations, spiraling directly toward Kento, Furi, and the child.
From its flaming core emerged a warrior clad in black stone armor, cracks glowing with molten fire. His eyes burned with hatred, his presence suffocating.
"I am Varok, the Oathbreaker," he thundered, voice echoing across the stars.
"All vows are chains. All promises are lies. And I will shatter them all!"
The child stepped behind Kento, trembling. "He… he's one of them. A Devourer given form…"
Kento raised his light, unwavering. "If you despise promises, then you despise hope itself. We won't let you win."
Furi's chains rattled, spreading like wings. "Bring it on."
Varok slammed his fists together, and meteors rained like spears.
The battlefield turned into chaos—flames clashing against chains, starlight against molten fury.
Kento surged forward, his blade of light cleaving meteor after meteor. Furi lashed his chains, snaring fragments and hurling them back. The child raised their hands, creating a shimmering barrier of memory to protect them.
But Varok was relentless. His molten cracks flared brighter, and with a roar he drove his fist down, splitting the void itself.
"You are bound by weakness! I will crush your oath and bury it beneath fire and ash!"
Kento staggered under the impact, his blade trembling. Furi clenched his teeth, blood dripping, yet refused to yield.
Then the child's voice rang out, clear and strong despite the fear.
"Promises are not chains. They are wings! Wings that let us fly beyond the sealed sky!"
For a brief moment, Varok hesitated, his fury faltering.
Kento seized the chance, his light igniting brighter than ever.
"Then let's show him the strength of a promise!"
Together, the three surged as one—light, chain, and memory colliding against Varok's molten might. The void shook with the force of their clash, and the outcome hung in balance…
