Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 – Clash of Shattered Chains

Varok's roar split the sky as molten fire erupted from his body, spraying streams of magma that scorched the stars themselves. The battlefield became an inferno of collapsing constellations, each impact echoing like thunder.

Kento rushed forward, his blade of light flaring, carving through streams of molten rock. "Furi! Now!"

Furi's chains lashed outward, splitting into a thousand links that wrapped around meteor fragments, hurling them back at Varok with brutal force. The black-armored giant swatted some aside, but others struck his body, cracking the stone plates further.

"Your resistance is meaningless!" Varok bellowed. His molten cracks burst like volcanoes, and his fists came crashing down, creating shockwaves that nearly tore the trio apart.

Kento staggered, his arm bleeding, but he pressed forward with a wild scream.

"Even if you break my bones, you'll never break my promise!"

He clashed head-on with Varok, light blade against molten fists. The impact shattered the void, throwing ripples of pure energy in every direction.

Furi dashed in, chains spiraling around Kento's strike like twin serpents.

"Then let's finish this together!"

The child extended both arms, releasing waves of shimmering memory, transforming them into crystalline wings of light that attached themselves to Kento and Furi.

With new power surging through them, their combined strike tore into Varok's chest, splitting his armor wide. Lava and shadow spewed outward, his roar shaking the heavens.

"Impossible!" Varok bellowed, staggering back. "How can fragile vows defeat destruction itself?!"

Kento leapt high, wings of light blazing.

"Because promises aren't chains—they're what keep us moving forward!"

With a final cry, he plunged his blade deep into Varok's molten core.

Furi's chains tightened, binding the giant in place.

The child's voice rang like a bell, sealing the blow with pure memory.

The sky exploded in a storm of light and fire. When the brilliance faded, only fragments of molten stone remained, drifting quietly through the void.

Varok was gone.

Kento collapsed to one knee, panting heavily. Furi wiped blood from his mouth, while the child placed a small hand on both of them.

"You did it," the child whispered softly. "One Oathbreaker has fallen… but many more are waiting."

Kento lifted his head, his eyes burning with resolve.

"Then we'll face them all. Together."

And so, under the shattered constellations, the trio prepared for the battles yet to come.
