Kevin's reasoning was perfect, and Starlight couldn't refute it.

She looked at the people Kevin had killed with water arrows, and the man with the charred chest she had killed with a light cannon, and hesitantly said, "That's true, but these…"

Starlight wanted to say that the way they killed people had already exposed their identities, and it seemed a bit late to conceal their supe status at this point.

"It's fine."

Kevin picked up a tattered rag, then, using the rag, picked up a gun that had fallen next to a corpse, and fired a burst of shots at the throats of those people that had been pierced by water arrows.

Starlight understood Kevin's intention but found it a bit hard to watch. She pointed inside the warehouse and said, "I… I'll go investigate inside. You continue…"

As she spoke, she also mumbled softly, "Oh God, why do I feel like we're the criminals now?"

"We are criminals right now, miss."

Kevin replied. Starlight didn't expect Kevin to have heard her, even though she spoke so softly. She instinctively shrunk her neck and walked inside without another word.

Kevin was handling the 'crime scene', looking at the charred corpse left by Starlight, feeling a bit troubled.

But soon, Kevin found something good.

"No, how do these people even have grenades?"

The Deep, who had found grenades on these people, was deeply concerned about the city's public safety and, as an afterthought, removed the safety pin from a grenade and threw it onto the man with the charred chest.

Boom!!

After an explosion, the man's body was completely obliterated. Kevin clapped his hands, ready to finish up and go find Starlight.

But in a trance, he remembered something and counted the number of bodies present.

There were four in total.

However, the young man he had seen earlier had prepared seven dinners, which meant that besides Kimiko, there should have been two more people here.

And the guy who made the noodles wasn't here either.

Kevin was deep in thought, wondering if something unexpected would happen with Starlight, when the unexpected occurred.

Starlight, who had just entered a certain warehouse, was sent flying backward, as if she had been hit by a speeding car.

Kevin: "?"

"The way you came out… is quite unique…"

Kevin came to Starlight's side and helped her up after she had been knocked flying.

Starlight said irritably, "That's the first thing you say when you see me get hit?"

"Hmm, then I'll be serious. Does it hurt?"

Kevin looked at Starlight's blood-stained abdomen.

The fist mark on her abdomen was very obvious.

Starlight rolled her eyes, "...You try it and you'll know. She's coming! Watch out!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Kevin saw a dark figure dart out of the warehouse, heading straight for him.

The dark figure was a woman, relatively petite compared to Kevin.

Her face was covered in black ash, making her features unclear, and her hands were covered in blood. It looked like she had killed someone before they arrived.

Well, it was no longer strange why there were fewer people. It turned out they must have been killed by this wolf-like girl.

Kevin's thoughts flashed by, and the dark figure had already lunged in front of him.

Kevin, not particularly skilled in combat, chose not to confront the girl head-on.

He swiftly retreated a step, waving his right hand. The blood on the ground nearby was drawn by his power, forming a blood orb the size of a human head.

The blood orb spun rapidly and, controlled by Kevin, slammed into the girl.

Bang!!

The blood-red orb exploded on the girl's body, directly sending her flying, giving her the same treatment Starlight had just received.

Before the girl could get up, Kevin pressed his advantage. Seeing bottled water in the room, he directly controlled the water inside to break open the bottles, forming a larger water sphere that enveloped the girl's mouth and nose.

"!"

With her mouth and nose sealed by water, the girl, completely unable to breathe, began to struggle.

She continuously tried to tear and scratch at the water sphere on her face, even drinking a lot of it because she was choking.

However, the size of the water sphere barely changed, sticking to the girl's face as if refusing to fall off.

"Wait, you'll kill her like that!"

Upon seeing this, Starlight immediately tried to persuade Kevin.

"I know what I'm doing. She's a supe, she won't die that easily!"

Kevin refused to stop.

The girl was clearly Kimiko Miyashiro, the Female, a supe with powerful healing abilities.

Given Kimiko's healing ability, even if her head had a large hole, it would recover after a while, let alone just being suffocated for a moment.

Hearing Kevin say this, Starlight stopped trying to persuade him, only watching Kimiko with concern.

When facing criminals, Starlight could be ruthless, killing without hesitation.

But when facing Kimiko, who was clearly a victim, Starlight felt enough sympathy, even though the other party had just beaten her up.

The girl… Kimiko struggled in the water sphere, but as the air gradually disappeared, her strength also weakened.

Finally, her eyes rolled back, she completely lost consciousness, and her body fell forward to the ground.

Once Kimiko fell, Starlight immediately ran to her side, placing her fingers on Kimiko's neck and under her nose.

Only after confirming she was still breathing did Starlight sigh in relief and explain to Kevin, "When I went in, I saw the bodies lying on the ground, and her. But before I could say anything, she started attacking me…"

"You didn't fight back?"

"She's a victim! And I initially thought she was a normal person!"

Starlight offered her explanation.

Because she thought the girl was a victim and didn't realize she was a supe, Starlight didn't use her powers to fight back.

As a result, she was hit squarely by the girl and was embarrassingly sent flying out, which is when Kevin saw her.

Kevin had no intention of mocking Starlight. He looked at the two bodies lying on the ground, his gaze sweeping around the room.

Finally, he knelt down in front of a box.

"What are you doing?"

Starlight finished examining the girl's physical characteristics and, seeing Kevin's actions, couldn't help but ask in confusion.

Kevin took an empty syringe out of the box and said, "It looks like these criminal gentlemen were injecting this girl with illegal drugs."

"Oh, my God… Are they experimenting on supes?!"

Starlight immediately expressed her shock.

Kevin glanced at her, saying nothing.

They weren't experimenting on supes; they were experimenting on humans to turn them into supes.

But this matter involved Compound V, and Compound V was related to Vought International. Not to mention that according to the setting, Kevin shouldn't even know about the existence of Compound V. Even if he did, he didn't want to go against Vought International because of it.

Lost in thought, Kevin bent down and found a piece of an address next to the small box containing Compound V.

The address on the fragment belonged to a church. If Kevin remembered correctly, the leader of this church was a Christian named Ezekiel.

He was a supe whose ability was similar to Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four; he could stretch his skin and limbs.

What a rubber man with a Gum-Gum Fruit…

Kevin silently complained to himself. Starlight walked over and asked, "Did you find anything?"

"No, nothing at all."

Kevin casually stuffed the fragment into his pocket and said to Starlight, "Let's go back. Let's find a place to settle her first."

"Are we… not taking her to the police station?"

Starlight asked hesitantly, then added after a moment, "At least to a hospital?"

"And then wait for her to wake up, go crazy, and kill a bunch of people? Please, wake up. She's a supe, and she looks like an illegal immigrant! The outcome of sending her to the police station or hospital will be that those interrogators drive her crazy, and then she goes on a rampage!"

Kevin's words were not an exaggeration.

Even if Kimiko had no connection to Homelander and Vought International, as a supe and an illegal immigrant, she simply couldn't walk openly on this land.

Moreover, Kimiko had previously 'trained' with terrorists, so her combat skills and tactical awareness were superior to ordinary people.

Coupled with her Wolverine-like superpowers, once she went berserk, only other supes or heavy firepower could stop her.

But after going through all this trouble to rescue her, should they send her off to be killed by superheroes to boost Vought International's reputation?

Kevin would never do something so foolish.

"Alright, then what now… we settle her first?"

"Mm."

Kevin nodded, then looked at the gruesome corpse whose head Kimiko had crushed with her bare hands, and added, "And also prepare a bigger cage…"
