Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

His New Resolve

Virgil didn't feel like going out that morning let alone go to

school and meet with Anna, he had zero options other than go

because he wouldn't want to anger his mom that early in the day

so he just forced it in and got into the shower, put his uniform on

and headed out.

He got to school having put this thought at the

back of his mind, not to avoid her just because of what happened

as that wouldn't be mature on his part or look good in public.

They met up in school the first time but he walked past her

class without looking in to see if she was around, not like he did it

intentionally but he felt ashamed to look for her, he still felt bad

about what happened thinking he did something and so it was,

through that day he avoided her through the whole day.

That day was over... The next day, the same thing but as

fate would have it Virgil never stayed in class at any free period

that came his way, he would always spend it outside the class

either the spot where Anna left him or the school's geography

laboratory unknownst to him that Anna always came looking for

him. A time where he was about to leave class again when his

best friend came up to him and told him he had heard what

happened between them.

Virgil didn't wanna talk about it and just walked away

leaving the class, she didn't come back until the day was done. At

the end of school she wanted to try to get hold of him…again.

Immediately stepping out of class she notices him at the

other stairway, moving quickly to catch him before he

mysteriously vanishes Anna calls out to him he turns to identify

the voice that called to him only to see her. They exchange

pleasantries as she comes up wasting no time she gets to her

point.

"What's wrong, Virgil?" he stands a little confused she then

explains that he has been ignoring her since that day but he on

the other hand tries to explain to her that whatever he did hedidn't mean to do. Looking a little worried with feeling of slight

guilt in her eyes she proceeded to ask him if she was his first.

Virgil doesn't respond openly but she could tell that was a

yes and she didn't look too remorseful getting that response from

him thinking it was some kind of joke, but soon after he didn't

respond anymore or look at her face she knew he was actually

serious she drew closer and apologized to him, she didn't mean to

hurt him the way she did.

She draws closer trying to reach to touch him slowly

drawing back her hand and reeling it forward, at an impasse

whether or not touching him in that moment was going to help

this situation. Virgil was doing his best to stay strong but he badly

wanted to know what he did wrong and not to break down into

tears.

He sat down on the staircase area to think through, she had

refused to give him her reasons for letting him off in such a way,

he always thought things like this that was shared between

people was always about communication and trust. He had high

hopes for them both since she was the first girl he has ever

really had feelings for.

Virgil had never really looked at any girl with any sort of

special affection or paid serious attention to them before, he

could always see a girl and think to himself "oh she's pretty" and

that would be the end else whatever he felt would leave him in

the span of a week. Given he had kept feelings for this girl for a

whole session he thought it had to be something special.

Then again he also thought "what's done is done, I should

just live with it and try not let it show so it doesn't affect her or

make her feel awkward or guilty even"

Having steeled his resolve a little Virgil steps up and walks

down to the school courtyard to join his bus home, bidding Anna

farewell with a little smile.
