Crystal and Felixia, hearing the familiar mechanical voice, tensed.
"Surely... she can't make up a feasible design in 20 minutes, right?" Crystal chuckled nervously; her not-so-loud voice fell into Lana's ear.
Lana flashed a brilliant smile, yet to Crystal it seemed to carry mockery.
Felixia smiled at Lana, friendly, and reminded her, "If you draw an existing design, the feasibility will freeze midway, and you will receive the message stating the design exists. So please remember to check accordingly."
Lana chuckled and nodded. "I will, beautiful sister."
'A stupid person who couldn't even understand the sarcasm.' Felixia thought, her smile still radiating friendliness.
Feasibility tested! Design Plan 99% Feasible. Please select a name for your design.
The mechanical voice froze both Felixia and Crystal, while Lana switched the tab to Obscure view and showed them the design.
"Can I now... request an appointment with the CEO?"
Same cheerful voice, but this time neither Felixia nor Crystal dares to show her any attitude or impatient expression.
99%! That was freaking 99%!
A genius weapon maker requires 20 trials to reach even close to 80%. But Lana... she drew a new design with 99%! Even if it was an F-rank weapon, it was still worth it!
The weapons were usually divided into S-rank, the legendary and unachieved rank in weapons ranking. It can be both offensive and defensive and can be used against a 2000-year-old ghost.
A-rank, mainly offensive with certain defensive powers, can be used against a ghost possessing 1000 years of cultivation.
B-rank, mainly offensive, with close to no defensive power, can be used against a ghost possessing 900 years of cultivation.
C-rank, mainly defensive or offensive, can be used against a ghost possessing 800 years of cultivation.
D-rank, E-rank, and F-rank possess offensive power to defeat a ghost possessing 700, 600, and 500 years of cultivation, respectively!
Soon, Lana was sitting in front of the CEO of XWeapons, Nixon Turner.
The man had faint dark circles under his eyes, yet due to his gel-styled black hair and pale skin, coupled with gold-rimmed glasses, he gave off gentle vibes.
His soulful blue eyes stared at Lana with mild interest and amusement.
"I heard the lady had a design; she wants to pass it to me?"
"Sell." Lana corrected with a smile, "I know CEO Nixon is a wise person, so I will get straight to the point. The design I drew is a C-rank, almost on the verge of reaching B-rank; this type of blueprint is sold in the market for 9 million dollars. But I want a profit share."
Nixon's eyes gleamed under the bright light of the office. "Profit share? That may be difficult..."
"I have another design. A defensive C-rank design." Lana chuckled. In reality, she had more than 50 designs in her mind.
She knew getting a profit percentage share was difficult until she tempted Nixon with future profits.
As to why she never thought of opening a company of her own?
The Almond family will never let her. In her previous life, they blocked all her paths; in this life, it will be the same, too.
Not to mention, in order to enter the weapons industry, one needs connections and start-up capital of 50 million dollars.
Her current bank balance was -30 million dollars.
Nixon's eyes narrowed, and he chuckled, "If that's the case, then I will offer you 5% profit."
"Too low." Lana chuckled, "40%, and you will have to give one of your employees, named Robert Miles, a 3 million dollar employee bonus. He works in your company."
Nixon narrowed his eyes when he realized that the silly-looking Lana was way smarter than she seemed.
'But why Robert Miles?'
'Hm... I have taken inspiration from the original creator, and though I added a few of my modifications, he deserves his share.'
Robert Miles was the original creator, but his design could barely reach between D-rank and E-rank.
In Lana's previous life, Robert didn't get any shares because his colleague had stolen the design and claimed the credit.
By the time he was exposed, Robert, who needed money for his wife's exorcism, had died.
"40% is too much. Let's settle on 20%. I will give Robert 2% too." Nixon proposed.
"No. Let's do it this way: give me 35% and Roberts 5%; otherwise, I will find some other company to sell the design." Lana threatened.
"You won't." Nixon said with certainty, "You could have gone to some huge corporations, but you chose mine because you trusted us!"
Lana chuckled, "No, because only your company will be ready to give me the Patentum paper free because of your policy. Now I can take this patentum paper and find some other company."
Nixon: (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
"Alright." His voice was filled with rage as he agreed, "I agree."
At last, Lana left with a 35% profit share agreement.
Why not opt for 9 million directly? If Lana remembered correctly, the sales of the weapons had reached 300 million dollars!
After the subtraction of material cost, the profit reached 150 million dollars. With her share, she will be able to have 52.7 million dollars!
And that was just 1st year's sales; the sales continued even after that.
In the long run, Lana had raised a golden chicken for herself.
Even after paying off her debt, she will still be left with 10 million dollars! (She suspected that other than the 30 million dollar debt, the Almond family might charge her 10 million dollars more as interest.)
