Kaito is sitting on the training ground floor with his mother.
"Kaito, as you know magic is something that flows all around us. It's our way of life." Moon explains.
Moon is explaining the basis of magic to Kaito. The planet they exist on is called Shea and from the early stages of the planet Magic has always existed. Humans evolved to weild and harness this magic as a ways to defend themselves from the monsters of this world.
The monsters on this world are fierce creatures, so the humans always found new ways to fight them. Moon explains all this to Kaito. "Mom, is all this necessary?" Kaito asks his mother. "Well of course it is, Kaito. You plan on leaving home for your adventure once you turn 14, so you need to know this stuff," Moon tells him.
Kaito sits silent. Moon notices. "What's wrong Kaito?" Moon asks him. "Why have we been inside of this forest, I mean ever since i was born it's all i can remember." Kaito asks his mother.
Moon sighs. "That's a bit harder to explain." Moon says. "Simply put, Kaito, the world just hates us we Kaya are seen as monsters. No better then the ones you see growling and attacking people." Moon explains. "But why?" Kaito asks.
Moon smiles and shrugs. "I don't know." She playfully says. "But mom!" Kaito says but Moon playfully pinches his cheeks. "Let's change the subject back to your magic." Moon instructs.
Kaito seems confused. "But mom, it's just fire magic, not like it's anything special." Kaito responds. Moon laughs. "You never know Kaito, there could be more to it then what meets the surface." Moon says. "Kaid and Kate can use tons of magic. Why am i stuck with just one." Kaito says disappointed.
Moon pats his head. "Kaito, the world gives what it gives. I believe you just need to give yourself time. You are a late bloomer afterall." She says. "But i'm not even a flower." Kaito responds innocently and Moon laughs.
Mages magical properties can change person to person. Some people who use flames can only fire them off like a ranged weapon. Others can use it as armor to enhance their bodies and increase the potency of their attacks. Moon explains this to Kaito who is trying his best to keep up.
"You Kaito can do both which already makes you quite special. Also." Moon holds her hand out for Kaito to grab.
Kaito reaches his hand out and grabs Moons hand and his eyes glow a vibrant red. "You are like me." Moon says as she releases Kaito's hand.
He inspects his hand and he wonders what just happened. "Watch closely now Kaito." Moon says as she just vanishes.
Kaito blinks twice and rubs his eyes. "Mom...?" He silently questions. She appears back. "That's just a quick teleport trick i can do. Well you can do it too now." Moon says and Kaito is surprised. "How?" He asks.
Moon laughs. "Just think about wanting to go somewhere and poof!" Moon explains. Kaito begins thinking.
Moon then remembers something and starts to tell Kaito, "Since you're so new to this, you can only teleport one-" But Kaito disappears before she can finish her explanation.
Kaito teleports in his room on the bottom bunk of his bed.
Kaid looks down from the top bunk and notices him down there. "Have you been there this entire time?" Kaid asks him.
Kaito laughs. "That is so cool!" Kaito exclaims. "Kaid look at this, I can teleport!" Kaito says.
Kaid hops off his bunk and begins watching. Kaito thinks real hard and tries to teleport and nothing happens. "Wow dude, super cool." Kaid sarcastically says.
Across the room Kate has her face burried in a book. "Guys quiet down!" She demands.
Kaid ignores his sisters shouts for them to calm down. "You two wanna go out and do something fun?" Kaid asks them. Kaito is curious. "Like what?" He asks.
Kaid smiles. "How about we try to hunt a big monster!" He says. Kate pulls her book from her face. "Hunting today? Everything inside of the forest is weak, how would that be interesting?" Kate questions Kaid. "That's where the fun part comes in, we'll sneak out of the forest!" Kaid says and Kate gasps. "We can't leave the forest Kaid, mom says never to go outside of the forest!" Kate objects.
Kaid scoffs. "Come on, Kate, mom never even said WHY we can't go outside." Kaid brushes his mothers warnings off as nonsense. "I think it could be cool!" Kaito says.
Kate is reluctant to go along with her brothers' plan, but they give her the puppy eyes, and she eventually agrees. "Fine," she says, rolling her eyes. "But if we get into trouble, I'm telling Mom this was your idea!" Kate says.
She begins to glow, and gold streaks appear at her cheeks, as a portal open up behinds her. The golden striped white tiger comes walking out. "Yes, Kate what is it?" The tiger says. Kaid shakes his head. "i'll never get used to snowball talking." Kaid says.
Snowball spits at him. Snowball isn't a big fan of Kaid.
Kate pets snowball. "We're going on a hunt." Kate tells him. Snowball nods in understanding.
Kaito looks at Snowball with glistening eyes. "Summon magic is so cool, i hope i get to use it!" Kaito says as he pretends to summon something. "Come on guys. Let's get out of here." Kaid says to them. "Is Amire coming?" Kate asks. Kaid shakes his head. "Couldn't find her." He responds.
The three of them begin sneaking through the village. They're careful enough not to let anyone see them as they sneak through town. They jump into the trees to further avoid eyesight. They look down and they can see Moon looking around for where Kaito ended up.
They also see May, Jake and Lucy walking around the village chasing little Kai around their youngest sibling at the age of two.
They continue hopping tree to tree with surprisingly good agility, and they make it to the town gate without a hitch. Once Kaito drops from the trees however the worst possible thing happened.
"What're you doing?" Kailey one of the twins have found them. Kaid sighs in relief that they didn't jump down yet even though Kaito wasn't that lucky. "Just walking around." Kaito responds.
His little sister isn't fooled by this. "You were in a tree, what are you roleplaying like a monkey?" She asks him.
Kaito sweats because his little sister is being surprsingly calm. As he thinks this the other twin Kaley shows up, and then they smile at Kaito. "It looks like you were sneaking out." Kaley says.
Kaito is surprised by this. "No." He says in a panic. They look at him blankly. "That's your entire excuse?" Kailey asks in disbelief. Kaito is caught red-handed sneaking out of the village. Kailey begins laughing. "Mom's gonna be sooo mad." She snickers with a sinister grin.
Kaito is at a loss for words, but he realizes that one of the twins is holding a shovel, and the other has dirt on their hands. The twins look at Kaito, and then they start whistling.
Kaito then gets curious. "What are you two doing?" He asks them. Now the two of them are shocked. "It doesn't matter." Kaley says.
A muffled scream can be heard from behind the twins. Kaito peaks around and sees a straw sticking out of the ground.
He goes over to it and the twins try to stop him. "Mind your own business big brother!" Kailey yells at him, attempting to stop him. Kaito digs into the ground with his sword revealing Amire. "Kaito help me!" Amire yells.
Kaito turns to look at his little sisters slowly, then he looks back at Amire. "Why are you buring her!?" Kaito shouts as he pulls Amire from the ground. Amire bows to Kaito. "Thank you!" She yells.
Kaley WHACKS Kaito in his head with the shovel. "GRAB HER!" Kaley yells. "I haven't seen how long you can breath under there yet!" Kailey yells. Amire begins running from the twins and they chase her through the village. Kate and Kaid drop down from the tree laughing.
Kaid rubs a tear from his eye. "There is something really wrong with those two!" He laughs while holding his belly. Kate giggles. "Amire is gonna have her hands full today." She says still chuckling.
Kaito rubs his head. The pain still evident.
