Chapter 14 - Departure

Arin's engagement with princess Seraphina is not normal. This ring is actually a chain to bind Arin's loyalty to the Veylor kingdom.

Today is the day when Arin and Seraphina are going to depart for the 'Aeternum Academy'. This academy was built when contracts binded with birth. King of Veylor kingdom realised that this contract curse has already been binded with generations. If children of Veylor kingdom misuse their unique powers they will die before became an adult.

He built two academies, 'Veylorian Arcane Institute' for commoners to educate civilians and get strong soldiers for his army and Aeternum Academy for nobles and royal families so the hierarchy of power will not shift in future.

Knock knock knock

A cute maid named Naira is continuously knocking Princess Seraphina's room door, she is the same age as the Seraphina and she is the princess' first companion. "Princess, it's already time for our departure. The king and queen are waiting for you in the teleportation room. Please hurry up."

Seraphina opens the gate. She was wearing a blue gown. She was looking like a fairy in this gown. Naira's eyes were glowing blue and they were sparkling.

Seraphina snapped in front of Naira's face and asked gently. "Should we go now?"

Naira just nodded her head in yes.

Atahsaia, Serene, Arin and Jean are standing in a teleportation room waiting for Seraphina. And Arin looked annoyed because Serene is styling Arin's black hair.

"Fewww, now you are looking like a proper noble." Serene wipe sweat from her forehead.

"But I think joker term will suit me now." Arin looks at himself in the mirror.

"Appearance is fine Arin but accent is most important. If you don't want to blow up your cover on first day." Jean said.

"I understand prime minister." Arin bowed and apologized with one hand on chest.

Teleportation room's door opened and Seraphina came inside the room from dark. When everyone saw her they got charmed but Arin was simply standing there. She first approached her mother.

"How am I looking, mother?" She asked.

"Gorgeous my dear, isn't it Arin." Serene asked Arin.

"Yes my queen you are right she is really an angel." Arin's tongue now has some butter on it.

Atahsaia ordered mage to prepare the teleportation gate. That mage loads a red mana crystal in on the hole made on the wall beside the teleportation gate. Slowly a pattern appeared on the frame of door.

"Do you know Arin, our predecessor hid Aeternum academy because they know if you want to collapse a kingdom first destroy their education and culture." Atahsaia looked into Arin's eyes. "That's why nowadays not a single person is alive that knows its location."

"(When will this gate open? I don't want to die from these boring speeches.)" Arin just nodded like he was listening everything.

Teleportation gate is now finally open. A white light is coming from that door.

"(Wait, is that a door to heaven.)"

Arin, Seraphina and maid Naira approach the door but Arin was walking slowly behind both of them.

Jean saw this so he mocked him. "Arin, do you know when this kingdom was built…"

Arin suddenly ran at his full speed and entered the gate, Seraphina and Naira also entered the gate. When they all entered suddenly that mana crystal blew into pieces.

Atahsaia ordered Jean to take out another crystal from the vault. After that they all leave the room.

Arin finally escaped that boring speech. "(Damn that was so close.)"

Arin moved his head upward and saw a massive building in front of himself. This building was made by using red stones to increase its beauty.

"Aren, why did you run away?" Seraphina approached Arin but he didn't listen because Aren is his new name and he is not familiar with it.

Seraphina touched Arin's shoulder from behind. "Aren what happened."

Arin instantly realised the whole situation. "Ohh, I am just appreciating this magnificent view."

Suddenly they heard a voice. 'The unbeatable council President arrived.' Many girls and boys students surrounded her and started appreciating and welcoming her in the school.

"(What unbeatable i defeated her easily.)" Arin saw a blue little mana stone on the ground he picked it up.

[130 years]

Arin burst that stone in his hand.

"(Hee hee, I literally found a world treasure. But wait if one fell on the ground from someone's pocket it means, they have more.)"

Arin jumped into that crowd while cheering 'princess please shake hand with me' and started pickpocket mana stones.

"(I'll become immortal at this rate. Heee heee.)"

Suddenly a professor appeared from nowhere. She dispersed every student and ordered them to go to the seminar hall. Then she approached Arin standing there holding many blue mana stones in his pocket. She glared into his eyes.

"(Did she already saw me stealing these mana stones.)" Arin's whole face is covered in sweat.

"You seem like a new face in this academy." Professor asked.

"Yes…mam I am Ari..Aren Vale and I am just a companion of…princess Seraphina." Arin's heart beat becomes like a drum.

"Ohh really then why are you sweating this much. It seems you are hiding something." Professor asked Arin.

Before he could say something, Seraphina interfered between them. "He is my second companion professor. And here is a letter written by the king himself."

Professor takes that letter and reads it. "Hmm so you are the second son of Vale household and you are escorting princess as her guard, Fine. Naira will escort you to the servants room." She rolled that letter."And I will be your professor this year. my self is Lily but never call me by name. Now move to the seminar hall."

Professor Lily left that place to gather other students.

"(Why isn't her attitude and name match.)" Arin is grinding towards her.

"Should we go now Aren" Seraphina said.

Arin and Naira are sitting in the crowd. Seraphina left them because it's council President's job to address new students and encourage them to work hard throughout the upcoming whole year.

"Aren sama, why are you looking annoyed?" Naira asked him.

"It's nothing naira, you should not have to worry about it." Arin makes a fake smile on his face. "Look, the princess is on the stage."

"(Damn those useless mana stones.)"

Seraphina stood on the stage. Her long blue gown reflected the light of the mana stone chandelier above, giving her the aura of a goddess. She raised her hand slightly, and the whole crowd fell into silence.

"My fellow students of Aeternum Academy," her voice was clear and strong. "Each of us here was born with a gift—power flowing in our blood, engraved into our very existence. But do not mistake it as something that belongs only to you. That power is a responsibility."

She paused, her eyes scanning the rows of students, catching the pride and arrogance that lingered in some noble faces.

"Without discipline, power becomes poison. Without loyalty, power becomes a dagger aimed at your own kingdom. And without unity, even the strongest among us will fall like dust in the wind."

The silence became more deepened.

Seraphina's voice rose. "The enemies outside these walls are not weak. Monsters are crawling outside of our borders. Kingdoms are sharpening their blades against us. But the greatest danger…" she touched her chest, "…is the betrayal that grows inside."

Whispers spread, but she raised her hand again. "Veylor is more than a kingdom. It is our home, our pride and our legacy. If we fail it, then every life we hold dear will vanish. But if we rise together—then no monster, no enemy, no betrayal can ever bring us down."

The mana stone above flickered as if resonating with her words.

"Remember this!" she shouted, her voice echoing across the grand hall. "Here in Aeternum Academy, you will not only learn strength—you will decide the future of Veylor. And I swear on my blood, I will carve my path to protect this kingdom until my last breath. If you dare to stand beside me, then raise your heads high… and prove your loyalty with your actions, not just your words!"

The entire crowd erupted in cheers, some pounding their fists against their chests, others screaming her name.

Arin smirked from the corner of the crowd, leaning back. "(So this is the unbeatable council president. Not bad, princess… not bad at all.)"

The sound of the cheering continued to shake the hall, burning into every student's heart.
