He murmurs to himself:

Long ago, the world was bound by the Book of All Fate, a tome dictating destiny.
Yet one page was torn out—left blank. That absence became the source of "Fate Erasure."
Umbra was once a guardian of the book, punished for attempting to erase a page. Cast into darkness, he became the Shadow.
His goal is not mindless destruction, but to free all beings from destiny's chains—by force.

Each erasure Ael performs weakens Umbra's prison.
Thus, Umbra won't kill him. Instead, he'll drive the boy to erase again and again.

He sends them to spread chaos, ensuring Ael will have to choose: erase to save others, or let them fall.
His laughter echoes:
"Erase, child… The more you fight to save them, the faster I am reborn."
