The Four Great Kings—also known as the Four Crowned Princes of Hell—are the rulers of the four cardinal directions among the 72 Demon Pillars.
1. Bael – Ranked 1st among the 72 Demon Pillars, holding the title of King. As one of the Four Great Kings, he commands 66 legions and rules over the East.
2. Paimon – Ranked 9th, also a King. One of the Four Great Kings, he governs 25 legions and rules the West.
3. Astaroth – Ranked 29th, holding the rank of Duke. Another of the Four Great Kings, he commands 40 legions and rules the South.
4. Asmodeus – Ranked 32nd, a King. The last of the Four Great Kings, he leads 72 legions and rules the North.
The figure captured by the surveillance footage was Astaroth, the ruler of the South.
This piqued Brunhilde's interest.
Were the Four Great Kings also trying to hide something? To prevent her from discovering someone?
Was this similar to the Babylonian pantheon's actions?
If so, who were they trying to conceal?
It had to be related to a human. So, in the seven million years of human history, which human had ties to the Four Great Kings?
Only one name came to Brunhilde's mind.
"Hahahahahahaha....!"
"Sister Brunhilde..."
Seeing her sister laughing so wildly and terrifyingly, almost like a madwoman, Göll couldn't help but feel worried again.
She must be under too much pressure.
"Isn't this actively helping me find the most suitable candidate?"
Grabbing her own face, Brunhilde was simply too excited.
Previously, it was someone from the Babylonian pantheon who let slip, allowing her to discover the extraordinary existence of King Gilgamesh.
Now, the Four Great Kings had also guided her to another person.
Excellent. Opening the Akashic Records system, she input the name of another human king, though she didn't know how the Four Great Kings had altered and concealed this person's information.
The next second, all the relevant information about the searched individual appeared. Let's see how it had been modified.
"What—!"
Brunhilde's beautiful, makeup-free face showed a shaken expression as her incredulous blue eyes widened.
This was very wrong. Too wrong.
The revealed information was vastly different from what Brunhilde had imagined.
In her expectations, the tampered personal data should have portrayed this king as an utterly ordinary, commonplace human ruler.
The displayed records should have depicted a bland, unremarkable king—perhaps a wise ruler, but certainly not one fit for the battlefield.
In short, it should have suggested that human history was full of kings far more outstanding than him.
The information should have been designed to make her overlook this king, to convince her he wasn't qualified to be one of the chosen thirteen.
That was how the deceptive data should have appeared. Yet the actual revealed information was the complete opposite.
The life story of this king now displayed was nothing short of an outrageous legend.
If what was written here was true, this monarch absolutely had the qualifications to be among the chosen.
Frankly, excluding King Gilgamesh, Brunhilde couldn't think of anyone more deserving than this ruler.
So, should she summon this king now, calling him forth from history?
Meanwhile, Göll, seeing her sister's extreme reaction, squeezed her head in to look at the information Brunhilde had searched.
"S-Sister, isn't this too exaggerated?"
After skimming the general content, Göll also voiced her disbelief.
The introduction here was no less absurd than King Gilgamesh's—perhaps even more so—making Göll doubt its authenticity.
"Sister Brunhilde, this might be a trap!"
It was so unreal that Göll couldn't help but think so.
"Hmm..."
Brunhilde also considered Göll's speculation highly plausible. This could indeed be a trap.
Someone might have deliberately fabricated such an exaggerated figure to make her, upon discovery, immediately include him among the thirteen.
Then, when the battle of Ragnarök began, this person would turn out to be all bark and no bite, causing humanity to lose a round.
But if she summoned this human king, couldn't she simply learn the truth from him?
Wouldn't such forged information be exposed immediately?
There might be one possibility—that this human monarch is someone obsessed with saving face, a braggart who loves to flaunt his presence, the type who constantly pretends to be extraordinary.
If so, then the actions of the Four Great Kings this time were deliberately meant to cost her one spot.
If that's the case, it would truly be a despicable and shameless act.
But is it really necessary to stoop to such lows?
The gods are proud beings; under normal circumstances, they would disdain such petty tricks.
Unless, like in Babylonian mythology, there was an exception—someone like King Gilgamesh, an anomaly. Could they be trying to hide something?
Was the purpose of pushing this human monarch forward to cover up some truth?
No matter how much Brunhilde thought about it, she couldn't unravel the truth behind it all.
In that case, the old method would have to do—she would simply have to travel to that era and witness it firsthand.
The displayed records could be falsified, but the holographic-like observation of that era couldn't be faked—that was the true Akashic Record.
Speaking of which, if they were going to fake it, couldn't they at least put in some effort?
The fabricated records Brunhilde saw were practically identical to those from a book she had read before.
This so-called "fabricated" material was basically copied straight from that book.
And the book in question was titled the 'Key of Solomon.'
Despite its name, the book had no direct connection to King Solomon. Instead, it was written in the Middle Ages by a group of humans fascinated by the occult.
They drew inspiration from the legends of King Solomon and embellished them with mythological elements.
Simply put, it was a self-indulgent story concocted by humans to satisfy their vanity—a narrative that suggested myths weren't invincible against humanity.
Very well, then. She would see for herself what truth they were hiding.
Time calibration initiated. Destination: the 9th century BCE. She would uncover what the Four Great Kings were concealing.
