"Two awakening stones and a bag of healing pills?!"Luke asked. More of an exclamation than question but still a question .
"Yeah. I'm surprised as well "
Luke sighed with barely controlled excitement. "Now I feel like hunting every wolf in that damn forest "
Luck nodded solemnly "Your head's in the right place brother ".
Luck suddenly remembered that he was still gravely injured as he instantly reached for the pouch of healing pills.
In seconds, he had popped one into his mouth.
*Whoosh *
A breeze blew out of nowhere as Luck immediately began to feel the effects of the pill.
"Whoa "Luck exclaimed in amazement as a white comforting aura enveloped him. All bodily injuries began to heal that within seconds, there wasn't even a sign of a scratch on him.
(High ranked healing pill!) Luck shouted in his mind as he stretched his limbs for any sign of discomfort.
Thankfully, they were none.
"I could get used to that feeling " Luck muttered wistfully as he sat up lazily."Now for the awakening stones ".
They glanced at the stones that laid a few inches away from them.They could almost pass for a common rock.
Luke looked apprehensive. "You understand we've only got one shot at this?".
Luck shrugged "Yeah"
They both placed their hands on their respective stones as it abruptly began to glow.
*Voom*
They simultaneously fell onto the floor as they felt a foreign energy invade their bodies, freely roaming and coating their entire body structure.
They gritted their teeth in pain as a pain that they should have never felt in their entire normal lives coursed through them.
Their structure began to change. They could feel their bones and constantly melting as their blood reached boiling point and scorched their blood vessels, muscles, tissues, effectively making them denser
and more durable.
Their organs weren't spared from this torture as they were being fused with the seemingly malevolent energy.
It was akin to having a thousand needles each pricking at specific points in their bodies.
The worst part however, was another organ was being formed in their bodies. They could feel their other organs readjusting to make room for this new addition.
Feeling the swirl of energy beginning to condense, they could roughly guess it was the size of a liver .
At this point, the boys instantly passed out as their threshold for pain had already been crossed several times over.
*Ding* "Hahhhahaahah"
A dinging rang in their heads but they couldn't hear it as they had passed out.
Along with the malevolent laughter that echoed with power through the land
