Luck crossed his legs as he began to dissect his new skills one by one.
Unknown to him though, he was actually increasing his Appraisal skill.
"So let's see..." Luck's voice trailed off as he rubbed his chin in excitement "I got Appraisal when my soul tier hit Rank 2. I guess that explains why I've been such a natural observer ".
Unlike other stats,Soul ranks couldn't be seen, which made it very hard to actually improve them.
(I guess it was kinda of a good thing that did)Luck thought.
Souls were literally the host's core existence so an improvement in them was a tremendous improvement in the rest of the body.
Only Soul magicians had the power to see their soul stat.
(Which is why I prefer to always be overly cautious when facing Luck".
He shook his head getting back on track to what he was doing.
"Mana Circulation, Mana Regeneration, Mental Resistance and Soul Fortitude must have come from when I used that cursed technique "
He shivered as he recalled how his body moved without his consent, replicating every single step of the technique that he had jokingly learned through one of his dad's treasures.
He shook his head, realigning his thoughts to its original point.
"Parry"Luck muttered monotonously "Must have picked it up during one of the numerous spars with Luke. It just adds to my already decent parrying skills.
With that done , he laid down on his bead in laze.
A thought passed through his head, making him immediately sit back up.
"My affinities need work. since I can't use bone right here, might as well start with ..."He glanced at his shadow.
Focusing on the black figure, he willed it to wave.
Surprisingly, it did.
(I wonder if it can detatch)he thought and the shadow immediately detached itself from his body.
Luck opened his mouth for a few seconds before closing it back again.
(I gues it was right when it said that)he thought excitedly.
He began to make his shadow take on various shapes of different sizes and each te, it never failed to deliver.
He finally settled for a dagger which he held in his palm.
Immediately he stabbed at his bedside desk. It passed through.
Luck was visibly disappointed but he oished it to the back of his mind. If he was proficient enough in shadow magic then it was okay.
A thought suddenly passed h9s head making him grin like the fourteen year old you actually are.
(My shadow would make the perfect recon partner.)
Who would think a shadow was there.
And even if he got caught, he could make it change its shape to hide.
"Now"Luck said as he rubbed his palms expectantly. "Time for the main test "
Luck's shadow returned back to its original form as it slowly sank through the ground, landing onto the ground floor of the villa.

Luck stretched his perception in an effort to locate his shadow.

He immediately poured mana into it, allowing his energy to take care of the finer details.
His black vision blurred, soon replaced by by the scenery of his house.
(It worked!)
Luck's excitement over his achievement was short lived though as he stared af his family who appeared to be having breakfast.
They look glum with his mum and dad not even eating well.
(I'll go and meet them)he decided as he immediately sprang off his bed and raced downstairs.
Naturally, Luck's movements did not escape his parent's perception. So they immediately left the dining room, much to the confusion of Luke meeting their other son in the hallway.
The three stared at each other for a good minute , giving Luke enough time to finish his breakfast and join them.
"Luck you're awake!"Dan cried out as his wife appeared beside Luck instantly and hugged the poor almost to death.
"Mum why you crying?"Luck said to the crying mess that was his mother as his brother soon joined her."It's not like I was in a coma "

Unease grew in Luck's heart as his family exchanged glances
"Actually you were "
Luck looked at his brother as he tilted his head in confusion. "Huh?"
"You've been in a coma for a month now"Luke explained with a dark look."And tomorrow's the deadline ".
