Siya's POV:
Ahh, today I was the first one in class. No one was there. Oho waaq, I am actually the first one! I sat at the back and instantly remembered Ayyan, Nayaan, and Ayesha—the trio, always laughing, teasing… and me? Just a side character sitting beside them, helping in between. I actually miss my last bench where I had them.
And honestly? I'm missing Anisha too. It's been 25 days, she still hasn't come back. I can't even talk to her properly—she's at her village for a wedding, so busy.
I sat in my place, looking around at the blank benches, imagining them soon filled with chaos, laughter, and noise. I was lost in that thought when someone walked in. He came straight towards me. Not for me… but for his place.
It was Ayyan.
He sat right behind me—or I should say, behind me and Ayesha.
Everything was normal, but also awkward. He was murmuring something. I leaned back a little and asked, "What did you say?"
"Nothing… just wondering. It's already 8:10 and still no one's here. Like, school starts on the 30th too…"
I smiled, "I'm here."
He looked at me, then laughed. "Even I am. I'm asking about others."
I teased, "Oho, just others? Or… her?"
The way he blushed. And then he asked, pretending, "Who?"
I rolled my eyes. "Don't act. I know you think I don't understand anything, but I do. So… between you and her, is everything fine?"
For a moment, he looked straight into my eyes. And for that tiny second, I forgot everything. His gaze wasn't romantic… it was like he was debating if he should say something or not.
Then silence broke. He said softly, "I guess everything will be fine…"
And he just left.
Maybe he didn't like that I was interfering. But I was only trying to help. Even if it hurts me.
I was still thinking about it when Era entered. She caught me off guard, "Siya! You're early today. Ohoo, even Ayyan is… hmm, what's going on?"
Thank god Ayyan wasn't in class. I quickly ran to Era and hushed her before anyone heard. We sat down, and she teased, "Nowadays you're always with them."
"With them? Ne? Ahh, what should I even say to her…"
I forced a laugh, "There's nothing like that."
"Then what about Ayesha and Ayyan? Something's going on, right?"
I sighed. "Why do you even think so?"
"Because it's obvious. The whole class knows. And everyone also thinks you're closer to Ayesha now."
People think so ridiculously sometimes.
I told Era clearly, "Listen, I'll always be yours. Not Ayesha's. She's just my benchmate, nothing more."
Slowly the class started filling. By 8:30, it was full. Today was assembly, so the first lecture was canceled. Which meant—ugh—the trio would again start their teasing, their silly love-fights.
But today was different. Ayesha didn't talk to him. And he kept trying again and again.
At one point, he asked me for notes. I had them. Still, I lied, "I don't."
I don't even know why. Maybe because deep down, I wanted to know what was happening. So I asked, "Is something serious?"
He replied coldly, "If I tell you, what will I even get in return?"
Seriously? Still, I pushed. "If you tell me, I'll tell you what Ayesha said about you."
His eyes lit up instantly. "Really?"
I nodded, "Yes. But… first you have to answer my questions."
"Fine," he agreed, smiling. "Deal."
He was so excited to know what she'd said. It was honestly cute… but it hurt a little too. Still, I had promised Ayesha I would help her, and that's what I was doing.
Because earlier this morning, before assembly, she had come to me and whispered, "Siya, please… help me with Ayyan."
And now here I was. Stuck between my own feelings and her request.
But the worst part? The way he kept looking at me now, as if my words mattered a little too much.
And for the first time, I wondered—
What if, while trying to fix their story, I accidentally start writing my own?
Well now way , I know what I want and he knows what he want !
