Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Fall of Darkness

When spirituality evolved the sharp edge of intellect, when the gods possessed the capacity to observe and think more deeply.

The great Sky-Father, the supreme sovereign of the cosmos—Uranus—instantly felt that this newborn world was far too crude.

At the same time it was rife with disorderly chaos, and the invisible threat from Tartarus clung like a shadow, forever entangling the world's edge.

Thus the structure of the cosmos and the framework of the world manifested outright with the turning of Uranus's divine thought.

Beyond the vast heaven-and-earth and the boundless encircling ocean current, the great Lord of the Cosmos, by His supreme divine power, used the immensity of matter, dark matter, and dark energy to create countless celestial bodies.

Countless stars filled the boundless void outside the world; they obeyed the will of the Lord of the Cosmos and cycled through the universe. For the first time, the universe had a concrete and majestic manifestation.

At the outermost layer of the material world, the world thus gained an indestructible barrier.

The primordial chaos and devouring power of Tartarus was completely repelled beyond the space of "existence," no longer able to encroach with ease.

Next, the supreme sovereign deftly employed dark energy to bring all matter, dark matter, and dark energy under the control of the framework He had carefully devised.

He established a tight linkage between the material world and dark matter/dark energy, using the aether element as the invisible medium by which this connection operated.

By now, He had completely fixed the grand framework of the cosmos!

Everything—whether the vast cosmos or the specific world—ran without deviation within the structural framework He had set.

For His "new son," this cornerstone upholding the order of the cosmos, the Lord of the Cosmos, Uranus, gave the name Crius (Ancient Greek: Κρο or Ancient Greek: Κρεο; English: Crius; also rendered in Chinese as "克瑞俄斯," meaning "ram").

The name bore profound import: "ram," symbolizing the solid cornerstone that supports cosmic order.

Likewise, the name held another far-reaching meaning: the great Sky-Father Uranus is the shepherd, while the vast cosmos is His boundless pasture; as for those beings who have only just acquired spirit, all intelligent life, they are but His flock.

At this time the universe did indeed possess the manifestation of brightness and day.

However, these brightness and day existed only by the conversion of dark matter and dark energy, and all their radiance was wrapped by the primordial darkness and night.

Within the existing cosmic space, darkness and night still occupied the overwhelming majority; the world was swathed in that original, eternal blackness.

This kept the material world from making ultimate use of the aether element; it remained greatly constrained by the power of darkness and night.

The countless celestial bodies created by the Sky-Father were all dim and dead, their light faint; the Sky-Father was greatly displeased.

So, by His unsurpassed divine power, He created light upon those dim celestial bodies.

And with a brute and irresistible force, He forcibly altered the very root of the authority over brightness and day.

From that moment on, wherever there were celestial bodies, there would be radiance.

The glow of the stars thereby tore the curtain of darkness and night, breaking through the primordial, age-old dark and night.

The brightness and day that had been nurtured out of dark night—the very source of their existence—were, at this moment, ruthlessly and forcibly seized by the supreme sovereign.

From then on, the existence of brightness and day was due to the shining of heavenly bodies.

The source of brightness and day was mercilessly plundered by Uranus from the dark-night system and forcibly, completely transferred to the material system.

In this silent plundering, the authority of darkness and night suffered yet another grievous blow.

Although darkness and night still occupied the widest reaches of the cosmos, the power of the material system had already and utterly pressed down the dark-night system.

Darkness and night were but existences the Sky-Father could scatter with a casual wave.

The great Lord of Darkness, Father of Night, the primordial Gloom, the Silent Realm, the One Who Shrouds All, the Bottomless Deep, the Impenetrable Stillness, the Bringer of Quiet, the Place Where All Things Vanish, the embodiment of dark nether-gloom—Erebus!

This incomparably mighty primordial god felt an unquenchable fury blaze within His vast divinity; He could no longer endure!

Having already possessed a sacred self-awareness, He could not bear such forcible seizure of His authority, could not bear such humiliation!

He, in wrath, launched an incomparably fierce counterattack against the omnipotent Sky-Father, the very source of spirituality!

He would shroud all in endless darkness, extinguish all stellar radiance!

He would seize back the authority that belonged to Him!

Under the wrath of Erebus, the entire universe expanded violently, as if to be torn asunder.

In the crushing press of pure darkness, countless galaxies and clusters, countless heavenly bodies, were easily ground to pieces, reduced to pure darkness.

The just-born Crius, emblem of the cosmic framework, shivered within the boundless dark.

In but an instant He was grievously wounded, nearly annihilated; His very structure was on the verge of collapse.

Oceanus, the vast encircling ocean that had been steadily expanding around the world, under this violent impact almost fell to pieces, His flowing body trembling on the brink of dissolution.

The material world was nearly shrouded once more by endless darkness—on the verge of returning to primordial chaos!

Tartarus, that endless abyss of void, sensing the upheaval of the law of darkness throughout the cosmos, was driven by instinct to seize the moment and swallow the world to nothing.

The cosmic framework created by the great Sky-Father Uranus tottered under the violent shock; the world He had designed with such care seemed about to be utterly destroyed in the very next instant.

Even the entire cosmos and world were about to plunge into eternal nothingness!

The victory of Erebus, Lord of Darkness, seemed right before His eyes!

The dawn of triumph seemed about to descend upon His domain—

Then, in an instant, His surging divinity lost all spirituality; an invisible force wiped away all consciousness.

The darkness that had shaken the entire cosmos, that had raged so wildly, was wholly stilled in the blink of an eye.

The supreme Sky-Father, Lord of the Cosmos, the source of all spirituality—by a mere sweep of His awareness—easily quelled this cataclysm.

From that moment on, darkness was only darkness, and no longer consciousness.

The silent universe, because of this absolute dominion, grew even more silent.

From then on, the darkness of the universe held only silence.

From then on, darkness became wholly nether-gloom, a pure and unconscious tool.

The cosmos at once returned to calm; from then on dark energy was completely held under the control of the material world.

It was cleverly set by the Sky-Father Uranus to become, entirely, the source by which the material world's energy is transformed.

Those celestial bodies that had been destroyed, under the conversion of nearly inexhaustible dark energy, recovered with visible swiftness and shone anew.
