Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 - The Past

Bronya's words left Fu Hua unable to voice her refusal.

If I could recover...

She wanted to remember them—the people who were so important to her.

She also wanted this broken body to be able to walk a little further.

And so, she slowly reached out, took the restoration serum from Bronya, and said with profound gravity, "Bronya, regardless of whether this serum works or not, I will remember this kindness."

With that, she twisted off the cap and drank the serum in one go.

Then, she closed her eyes, feeling the changes within her body.

As expected of a serum produced by the System, the effects were swift.

Mere seconds after Fu Hua drank it, she felt a strange energy spreading through her body, flowing with her blood to every corner of her being.

A gentle warmth filled her, as if she were immersed in a hot spring. The utmost comfort nearly made Fu Hua forget where she was.

Then, the energy gathered and moved upward, entering her brain.

Along with a slight stinging sensation, scenes of memories that had been sealed away began to unfold in her mind.

Fu Hua remembered the past. She remembered Taixuan Mountain five hundred years ago, and she remembered the people who had accompanied her for thousands of years, only to leave her in the end.

(Note: To prevent any misunderstanding, the memories restored here are only those Fu Hua lost after being betrayed by her seven disciples 500 years ago. The memories she regularly purges or has burned using Fenghuang Down have not been recovered.)

An unknown amount of time passed. Perhaps it was a long, long time, or perhaps it was only a few minutes.

Fu Hua slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw were several faces filled with worry and concern.

"Class Monitor, why are you crying?" Kiana asked cautiously.

Fu Hua paused, subconsciously raising a hand to her cheek.

The wet, cool sensation on her fingertips made her realize that at some point, tears had begun to fall.

"I... I just... remembered some things from the past."

Fu Hua wiped away her tears. The expression on her face was complex, but more than anything, it was one of relief.

"It must have been something very sad," Raiden Mei said empathetically.

"Not entirely," Fu Hua said with a light smile.

Although their partings were painful, the warmth and beauty of their time together also remained in her heart.

She was grateful that she remembered.

And...

Fu Hua clenched her fist, feeling the earth-shattering change in her body.

This was the best she had felt in hundreds of years.

However, although her body had been restored to its peak, her shattered sword-heart could not be healed.

It was a slight regret, but Fu Hua didn't dare ask for more. To have recovered this much was already a stroke of immense luck.

"Class Monitor, your body..."

"Mmm, don't worry. It has fully recovered." Fu Hua nodded. "The effect of this restoration serum far exceeded my imagination. I believe that even someone on their last breath could use it to be instantly restored to their optimal state."

"Wow, as expected of a serum from the System. It's ridiculously powerful," Kiana couldn't help but exclaim.

"It would be great if we could get a few more bottles in the future," Theresa licked her lips, a greedy look in her eyes.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's hurry and answer the question." Himeko smiled. "Fu Hua, this one's for you. No problem, right?"

"Mmm. I choose A," Fu Hua said without a moment's hesitation.

Now that she remembered her past, this question was a complete giveaway.

[Answer... correct.]

[Congratulations, you have obtained one Micro Arc Reactor.]

[Micro Arc Reactor: Capable of providing high-density, high-intensity energy. A small piece of the arc reactor contains enough energy to power a city for fifty years.]

The void tore open, and a palm-sized object radiating a faint blue light, the arc reactor, fell into Fu Hua's hand.

If a scientist were present, they would likely have jumped for joy on the spot.

The value of this tiny arc reactor was absolutely unimaginable.

Unfortunately, no one here was an expert in technology. At most, they could tell the item was impressive, but they were not fully aware of its hidden value.

Upon receiving the arc reactor and reading its detailed description, Fu Hua's first thought was of the companion who had been with her for a thousand years but had to enter a deep slumber after its energy was depleted—the Book of Cangxuan.

I wonder if this can awaken her... Fu Hua thought to herself.

Just then, the corresponding vision appeared in the Q&A Space.

---o---

In the vision, within a house built by green mountains and clear water, two twins with identical faces but different colored eyes—one red, one blue—were beaming as they welcomed the return of their Celestial.

"Chiyuan, welcome home! Quick, tell me the stories from your journey so I can write more myths about you," said the red-eyed Danzhu, the more vivacious of the two. She affectionately took the Celestial's arm and smiled at her.

"Danzhu, stop clinging to Chiyuan. She just got back, let her rest properly," the blue-eyed Cangxuan, who was more calm and reliable, admonished her sister.

"It's alright, Cangxuan. Danzhu likes hearing stories, so I'll tell them to her," Fu Hua said softly.

"Sigh, you're always like this. It's because you indulge Danzhu so much that she's getting more and more mischievous," Cangxuan sighed, but she was helpless against their Celestial.

"Heehee, Cangxuan, I think you're just jealous that Chiyuan likes me more," Danzhu said, still holding Fu Hua's arm, as she cheekily made a face at her sister.

"Hua, you should change your clothes. Look at you. You don't even take proper care of yourself when you're traveling. Your clothes are all torn and tattered." Noticing the dirt, grime, and tears on Fu Hua's clothes from her long journey, Cangxuan said in exasperation.

"It's fine, I can just patch them up," Fu Hua said, shaking her head, not wanting to trouble her two friends.

"How is that fine? If you're always so messy, and people see you like this, it won't matter how much I embellish the great name of the Immortal Celestial Chiyuan in the myths."

"You, after all, are still a girl. You need to pay more attention to your daily life."

And so, amidst the chattering and nagging of Danzhu and Cangxuan, Fu Hua was pushed into the house.

After a hot bath and a change into clean clothes, Cangxuan and Danzhu mysteriously pulled Fu Hua into an inner room.

"Chiyuan, we have something to give you."
