Chapter 3 - the investigation begins

Chapter 3: The Investigation Begins*

The days turned into weeks and weeks into years, and the investigation into Alex's and lindas death was in full swing. Don Matteo had assembled a team of his most trusted men to dig deep into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Leo watched from the sidelines, his young mind absorbing every detail.

The investigators pored over the footage from the beachside cameras, looking for any sign of the car that had struck Alex and Linda. They interviewed witnesses, canvassed the area, and searched for any potential leads. But despite their best efforts, they seemed to be getting nowhere.

Leo's eyes narrowed. "Who is it?" he demanded.

Marco hesitated. "We're still working on that. But we do have a lead. We found a piece of paper in the wreckage with a symbol on it. It's a snake eating its own tail. Does that mean anything to you?"

Leo's mind was racing. He didn't recognize the symbol, but something about it seemed familiar. He shook his head, and Marco nodded.

"We'll keep looking into it," Marco promised. "We'll find out who did this, Leo. I promise."

Leo nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope for the first time in years. Maybe, just maybe, they would finally get the answers they were looking for...
