"..." Kujou Sara said nothing. She silently took off her own Vision and brought it close to the extinguished star. As expected, the surface of the Vision began to emit a faint glow.
"Your foresight is admirable." After saying this with a straight face, she left the Commissioner's Office. There was still much to do. Now that she knew how it worked, it was time to begin.
"This Sakoku Decree really is a great help." Kujou Takayuki leaned back, a smug look on his face. "Those guys from Snezhnaya, how did they even get their hands on something like this?" A few days ago, when they had delivered this item, it had given him quite a shock.
…
A few days ago
A man in a half-plague-doctor mask suddenly appeared in the Commissioner's Office, the Fatui liaison cowering beside him. This must be one of the Fatui Harbingers, Kujou Takayuki thought, wondering why he was here.
"Honorable Lord Kujou Takayuki." Contrary to his arrogant-looking mask, his voice seemed to be filtered, coming out respectful and pleasant. "It seems our cooperation is proceeding quite smoothly. I believe it won't be long before the Kujou Clan is permanently seated in the position of Commissioner, will it? However, there seems to be a small loophole in your plan. If it were to be exposed... I'm afraid not only would Inazuma become a laughingstock, but the Kujou Clan would also be shamed."
He was, of course, referring to the possibility of fake Visions, but he had placed the Kujou Clan at the highest level of his rhetorical argument. Inazuma becoming a laughingstock was just a stepping stone; the Kujou Clan was the real target of his 'persuasion'.
"Therefore, we have specially brought you the final piece of the puzzle to complete your plan~"
In the center of the metal block was a meteorite fragment. In his words, this was all a show of sincerity from the Fatui to their collaborator. "If anyone asks, you can just say you got it from Liyue. We've already informed the Kanjou Commission."
So this thing isn't from Liyue, then…
"Where did you get this?" Kujou Takayuki asked.
"It fell from the sky into the sea off the coast of Inazuma about half a month ago," the man said without hiding anything, even adding, "Not long after the arrival of that currently famous blacksmith."
He didn't understand what he was implying, but the true purpose of their visit might lie within that hint.
"Why are you telling me this?" Even though it was his own question, he hadn't expected the other man to answer truthfully.
"For our long-term cooperation, of course." The Harbinger spread his hands, a gesture of 'I've told you everything' helplessness. His words now smelled like bullshit. But the Commissioner didn't care. No matter how foul, bullshit could only be used as fuel. And right now, he was the one holding the match. What was there to worry about?
So he nodded, letting the bullshit-spewing man leave.
Outside, the subordinate who had been silent all along finally gathered his courage. "Lord 'Dottore'... this time, I suppose I've rendered some meritorious service?" He had spent a great deal of effort repairing the Delusion and collecting data on that blacksmith.
"Mm," he grunted, then, as if just remembering, made a promise. "Don't worry. You'll get what you want."
Hearing this, the Fatui agent breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing that the man wasn't as difficult to talk to as he seemed, he asked one more question. "By the way, that... meteorite fragment you gave him? What is that?"
He didn't even turn his head, but he seemed to be in a good mood. "A fragment of a Constellation. A rather special one at that."
How it was special, he didn't say. What a Constellation was, he didn't elaborate. The Fatui agent naturally didn't dare to ask, afraid that another word might cost him his head.
"By the way. After I leave, call that puppet. Consider it... a touchstone."
…
Somewhere on the continent of Teyvat
"Your Highness." A tall, crimson monster knelt before a young girl. The girl had short, blond hair with a white flower pinned in it. She was not even half the size of the monster, yet he was silent as a cicada in winter before her. After a moment, carefully chosen words emerged from his mouth. "In the skies of Teyvat, the 'Viatrix' constellation that accompanies you can no longer be found."
Half a month ago, when the girl had suddenly sensed a fluctuation around her own 'Constellation', she had sent people to investigate.
"Is that so." Her tone betrayed no emotion, making it impossible to tell if it was a question or a statement.
"Yes…" the monster continued. "I'm afraid... that 'Traveler' has also been permanently... expelled from Teyvat."
After hearing his report, she opened her cold eyes, her gaze fixed on the sky. "That's fine. The rest of the journey, I'll walk it alone. This..." The kneeling monster wanted to speak, but the girl in white waved her hand. "Enjou, leave. Whoever has replaced that part of the sky, and what it has become, I don't care. Not now…"
"Right now, I just want to be alone."
Hearing the command, the monster called 'Enjou' lowered his head and silently retreated without another word.
…
In Inazuma City
After Kujou Sara left the Commissioner's Office, work quickly came her way. Several Tenryou Commission soldiers were knocked to the ground. Still standing was a white-haired man with red horns on his head. "Come on! If you want to take this Great Arataki's Vision, you'll need more than that!" he taunted, gesturing for them to come at him. He held no weapon, having taken them down with sheer brute force.
Kujou Sara recognized him. The red horns marked him as an oni, and his attitude and tone immediately identified him as the famous Hanamizaka delinquent—Arataki Itto.
"No matter how many reinforcements you call, this Great Arataki will take them all on." He stomped his feet alternately, shaking his head with a whoosh, taking on a sumo wrestling stance.
"The Tenryou Commission is on official business. I advise you not to resist arrest," the general said, stepping forward alone and warning him as per regulations.
"Hah? You want me to give up my Vision, and you expect me to kneel and hand it over? Dream on! Today, I—"
Before he could finish, Kujou Sara closed the distance and, while he was still in his intimidating sumo stance, landed a heavy punch to his stomach.
"Gah...! How could you... still..."
"What?" Unexpectedly, the delinquent didn't pass out from her blow. She had seen he was an oni and had deliberately put more force into it. But it was not too late. Even that oni couldn't immediately recover from such a blow. Kujou Sara immediately followed up with an elbow to the back of his head, and the fierce oni finally collapsed.
"Phew…" Seeing him finally subdued, she looked at the Geo Vision. She bent down and picked it up. When she brought it close to the meteorite artifact, it emitted a faint glow.
It's real…
Taking a deep breath, she handed the Vision to a doushin who had come as reinforcement. "Mission complete. Thank you for your hard work."
There was no joy of completion on her face. In fact, her brow was furrowed even deeper than usual.
