Fenrik potshot against my rib cage, urging me forward. My knees weakened, my heart throbbed, and my head felt heavy.
Closing my eyes, I opened them, swallowing. Elizabeth was dead. I held her in my arms. She had smiled at me with bloodied lips, drawing her last breath.
