My heart stopped beating as I stared at the red envelope. It was in the same design as the one from Christmas Eve. Also, the scrawny writing looked the same. I observed my environment as I sensed being watched and let out a staggering breath. However, I saw no one.
My attention went back to the envelope, wondering who could have sent it and what they wanted with me. I could come up with nothing. I had only made friends with two people in this pack. I didn't think anyone knew me well enough even to send a letter.
My hands shook as I bent to pick it up, and slowly, I opened it, pulling out the paper inside. My eyes scanned the content.
