Chapter 59 - Don’t be dramatic

Was there meant to be this much screaming? It was just bots, and I didn't believe they were meant to kill. Only to disqualify when caught, but whoever had screamed sounded like they were in great pain. My back brushed against an object. Wide-eyed, I jolted, whirling around, and I glared at Cassie as she stood beside me.

"Seriously?" My hand flew to my chest, feeling the frantic thud of my heart. But that didn't calm the anxiety swelling inside me.

I flinched as the third scream echoed. This time, it was unfamiliar and really close to us. I turned to Cassie. "What do we do? Do we keep staying here until time runs out or return to the pack?"

"If we leave here, we stand at risk of running into those damned bots and getting disqualified. Additionally, we are unsure of the individuals who will be taking over this shelter. Likewise, if we run to the pack house. We are getting disqualified without being verified."
