Chapter 34 - Dried Corpse

In the gym, Bai Ye was enduring a relentless beating from Peter.

The strikes rained down, targeting his back, arms, thighs, and finally his chest and abdomen.

The areas struck first turned red, then bruised, and finally, the skin was torn, drawing blood.

After half an hour, blood continuously seeped from Bai Ye's wounds, staining his clothes crimson, turning him into a bloody mess.

But Peter Parker was faring worse. After swinging the steel rod for half an hour, he finally released it, the rod still clinging to Bai Ye's flesh, and slumped to the ground.

"Why aren't you hitting anymore?" Bai Ye asked, looking at the fallen Peter with confusion. He, the one covered in blood, hadn't fallen, yet his attacker was down.

"Bai, I've hit you over ten thousand times already, and my arms are killing me."

Peter Parker massaged his arms, staring at his friend with the eyes of someone who had just seen a monster. Any normal person would have been turned into pulp by such a beating, but this guy was still standing firm in his horse stance, not even swaying.

"You... young people these days have no stamina," Bai Ye said, displeased.

He clearly had a physique of 2.8, yet he needed a break after only half an hour. Even a donkey in a production team wouldn't dare slack off so much.

However, although dissatisfied, Bai Ye understood that this was indeed the limit of the other person's stamina.

Although Peter's physique attribute appeared to be 2.8, Bai Ye knew that this category represented the body's defense, stamina, aptitude, and recovery speed.

Peter might only have a body defense of 2.8, the extreme value of these four items, while the other three were far behind. Unlike his panel data, which was developing in all aspects.

"Then you take a rest first. We'll continue in half an hour, and I'll keep training," Bai Ye said helplessly.

While he was speaking, the bleeding wounds all over Bai Ye's body had already stopped and healed. It would only take another four or five hours to fully recover.

Watching his energetic friend, Peter could only step aside and ask, "Bai, how much longer do I have to work today?"

"I can keep this up with you all day," Bai Ye said, throwing punches with the Iron Weight.

"That's not what I asked," Peter said, speechless. "I asked, what time do I get off tonight?"

"It's six o'clock now, you can leave at ten," Bai Ye said. "Remember to come here right after school tomorrow."

"I know," Peter nodded helplessly.

But he had already received two thousand dollars, so he couldn't refuse. He felt a thick barrier made of money had formed between him and Bai Ye.

Ten minutes later, Peter had mostly recovered his stamina and continued to punch and kick at Bai Ye. After half an hour of this, he would take a ten-minute break, and then repeat the process.

During this process, Peter also began to notice that as his exercise increased, his already strong stamina and strength began to see a slight improvement.

It seemed that the potential within him that hadn't been developed yet was being activated during the training.

This discovery piqued Peter's interest, and he began to cooperate with Bai Ye's training. The effects of the exercise increased significantly, and by ten o'clock that night, he didn't even want to go home.

He lingered until 11 p.m., and only then did Peter, utterly exhausted, leave the gym. After he left, Bai Ye, without his experience package, also stopped his training.

At this moment, his physique experience bar, which had just reached 1.7 in the afternoon, soared to 1.7 + 0.2 (70%) after a night of training. He would definitely be able to increase it by another 0.1 tomorrow.

Marveling at the benefits of Spider-Man as an experience package, Bai Ye took out paper and a pen from the corner and began to write down the Purple Cloud Divine Skill he would teach Smith tomorrow.

Based on his mental attribute of 1.7, Bai Ye now possessed near-perfect memory and millimeter-level precision. Holding the pen, Bai Ye quickly sketched without any auxiliary tools, his hands leaving afterimages.

In just two hours, the entire Purple Cloud Divine Skill, along with Yue Buqun's annotations, had been replicated by Bai Ye.

After finishing this, Bai Ye put away the manual and felt that the bloody wounds on his body had not completely healed. So, Bai Ye simply sat cross-legged on the cold marble and began to gather qi.

An hour later, when three strands of Purple Cloud True Qi had accumulated in Bai Ye's Dantian, the wounds on his body had completely healed. After eating some food to fill his stomach, he stood up and continued to work on his muscles.

Now, he found that he no longer seemed to need sleep. The toll of staying up late on his body had begun to be less than the speed of his physical healing.

I don't seem to be human anymore. Bai Ye thought silently, lifting the Iron Weight beside him and starting to work out.

Late at night, most people in New York City were already asleep, only a few still striving for their respective goals.

In the hallway of a residential building in Brooklyn, a woman in her twenties stared wide-eyed, her body shriveled, dead at her doorstep.

"Too late again."

Standing in front of the Dried Corpse was a man, six foot three inches tall, with blue eyes, a black slicked-back hairstyle, a tall and strong physique, and a trench coat.

On the man's chest, a white skull was printed on the T-shirt, looking menacing.

The man knelt down and gently moved the woman's head aside, revealing two gaping holes in her neck.

"Damn Vampire Scum." The man cursed under his breath, stood up, and turned to walk into the darkness. Then, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Hey, Matt? When will your body be ready for missions?"

In the hospital, Matt, lying back in bed, said with a troubled expression, "Victor, I might need another two weeks to recover before I can walk normally. Is there something you need me to help with?"

"It's those never-ending Vampire Scum. Although the previous ones were restless, their hunts were usually at specific times and locations. But there have been seven cases of drained corpses this month. I suspect they're up to something big."

"What about Blade? Isn't the vampire issue usually his domain?" Matt's expression turned serious.

"I tried to contact him, but he lost contact yesterday. That's why I'm coming to you."

"How about I recommend someone to you?"

"Who do you recommend?"

"That student who was on TV a few days ago. I think he has potential, and I want you to guide him," Matt said.

"You know I don't like taking on new people, but I'll keep an eye on him. Compared to him, I appreciate that murderer more."

"Murderer? Who!"

"That Mutant who wiped out three gangs these past few days. I think his actions suit my taste," Victor said, then hung up the phone.
