The scene was chaos. Thousands of Vampires, losing all reason, Purebloods and half-bloods alike, were fleeing eastward like rabid dogs.
"Are you all insane? The air out there is saturated with garlic essence! Do you have a death wish?" Diken roared in distress. These Vampires were all resources he'd cultivated for his own advancement.
But as soon as he spoke, Diken froze.
Because although these Vampires were screaming in agony, their skin turning to ash from the various forms of damage in the air, they weren't nearly as fragile as the Vampires he'd encountered before.
Have these people also undergone a transformation? Diken thought in disbelief.
Then he counted the number of Vampires present. Roughly half were missing, leaving only two thousand or so. Their speed had also increased.
Clearly, they had undergone a transformation he knew nothing about, sacrificing half of their numbers to significantly weaken their weakness.
"Damn it, what's happening to the east?" Diken suppressed his inner turmoil. He was angry, but there was nothing he could do.
But beyond his helplessness, the U.S. Army personnel facing the vampire horde were gripped by deep fear.
Watching the vampires swarm out, and with the weapons' damage against these monsters diminished, the vampires' superhuman physiques came into play. They were like thousands of Blade-like warriors.
To repair their bodies, the vampires threw themselves at the U.S. Army, and the vampires that had been slaughtered moments earlier became death incarnate, sucking the bodies of the soldiers dry.
However, since their goal wasn't here, they only sucked enough blood to restore their energy and then stopped. Only a few hundred people were completely drained.
After replenishing their injuries, the vampires rushed out of the Sanctuary, still running east without any reason, leaving behind a field of corpses and a bewildered Diken and the U.S. Army.
Inside S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury frowned as he listened to Ross's report: "What did you say? The Vampires all rushed out of the Sanctuary and killed thousands of your soldiers? And now, they're running towards the city outskirts? How are you intercepting them?"
"How would I know? Those vampire bastards suddenly became immune to silver and ultraviolet light, and they're running towards the commercial district like they're insane."
Outside the Sanctuary, General Ross watched the vampires' frantic escape and the heavy losses of his troops, his heart bleeding. These were his soldiers, and a quarter of them had just died here.
Atop the Vampires' Sanctuary, a bald woman in a yellow robe stood, gazing at the Dimensional Passage leading to another dimension.
The Time Gem on Ancient One's chest glowed with a soft green light. Her gaze pierced the passage as she addressed the woman on the other side, "You have overstepped, Blood God."
"I have unfinished business in this world. I'll leave immediately after I'm done," Blood God said, attempting to negotiate. This wasn't her domain, and a fight would be disadvantageous.
Ancient One gently shook her head. "I am aware of your intentions, but I also need someone to guard this universe. He is the best among us, and I cannot allow you to take him."
As her words fell, the Time Gem, facing Blood God's murderous gaze, emitted a blinding radiance.
From the void, Ancient Ones from countless points in time emerged, blocking the entrance to the Dimensional Passage.
The Ancient One of the present, wielding the Time Gem, flicked her Sling Ring. Suddenly, a Dimensional Passage crackled with orange energy, appearing beneath the Power Gem and the Space Gem on other planets and in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s possession.
Ancient One spread her hands, and the blue and purple gems floated into her palms, complementing the green Time Gem on her chest in a mesmerizing display.
In an instant, three of the six Infinity Stones that countless people yearned for – the Power Gem, the Space Gem, and the Time Gem – were all gathered in the Ancient One's hands.
The Blood God on the other side of the Dimensional Passage had a face as ugly as if she'd eaten a fly. Looking at the Ancient One, who was now equipped with three of the Infinity Stones, she understood that she would likely have to return empty-handed this time.
Compared to having no hope, having hope dangled in front of her only to be snatched away was the most disgusting thing of all.
At night, White Night was walking with Camilla on the way home. He then tilted his head in confusion, listening to the commotion in the distance, as if thousands of people were running towards them.
What's going on... White Night became alert. Turning around, he saw a dense swarm of Vampires charging towards them from afar.
"It's him! It's him!"
"Catch him and turn him into a Vampire!"
"We must catch him!"
...
Thoughts surged through the Vampires' minds, controlling their reason. The weaker the Vampire, the more profoundly they were affected by these thoughts.
In this crowded commercial street, the Vampires swept aside the obstructing crowd one by one. People crashed against walls, letting out cries of pain, and the entire commercial district descended into chaos.
'What's gotten into these Vampires? Who pissed them off?' Bai Ye saw the pandemonium hundreds of meters away and decided to avoid it. Grabbing the also-surprised Camilla, he prepared to leave.
With a light leap, Bai Ye, holding Camilla, landed on the eaves. Then, he saw the Vampires' gazes collectively lift and focus on him. Their steps also changed, as they began to run towards him.
Bai Ye's initial plan to avoid them had, instead, confirmed their target. They wanted to turn this man.
"What the hell? Are they after Camilla, or… me?"
Thinking about Camilla's earlier odd behavior, Bai Ye immediately released her and took a few steps back.
Through the eyes of these people, it was finally confirmed that this group was here for him.
Camilla also realized the problem and looked at White Night in surprise, "Why are they looking for you?"
"How would I know? I haven't done anything. Maybe they're here to save you," White Night said speechlessly.
Watching the Vampires charging forward, he waved his hand lightly, "Stay here, don't move. I'll deal with them, and then we can talk."
As he spoke, the swarming Vampire army had already arrived. With their superhuman physique, they leaped onto the roof, aiming for their target.
BOOM!!!
In the blink of an eye, the bodies of three Vampires in front of him exploded instantly, and terrifying blood rain erupted. Then, it was lifted by the howling wind, sweeping several leaping Vampires off the roof.
White Night remained in a fist-pumping pose, spiderweb-like cracks spreading across the tiles around him for two or three meters.
Facing the Vampire army surging towards him like a tide, White Night took a deep breath, stomped on the ground, and charged into them like a cannonball.
