Chapter 132 - Nuclear Explosion

Out in the suburbs, fighter jets swiftly closed in within ten kilometers of Byakuya's position.

As they approached, the cabin doors opened, and twenty Sentinel robots were dropped from the aircraft.

Already in an active state, the Sentinels immediately detected the presence of a mutant within a ten-kilometer radius. Their eyes flashed scarlet as they fully activated.

In midair, they twisted, shrouded themselves in gray mist, and teleported straight to Byakuya's side.

In just an instant, seven Sentinels surrounded Byakuya, their right arms transforming into blades that stabbed toward him from every angle.

The rest of the Sentinels' eyes glowed red as more than a dozen fiery beams of light burst forth, blasting toward Byakuya.

Facing their siege, Byakuya only smiled faintly."Using the old model from ten days ago against me? That's underestimating me a bit too much."

In that instant, he clenched his fist. A terrifying power weighing tens of thousands of tons erupted from his body, blasting the Sentinels encircling him away in an instant. Then he simply allowed the lasers to rain down on him.

The scorching beams ravaged his skin, but they only managed to break through the surface—unable to pierce any deeper.

By now, compared to ten days ago, his strength, defense, and regeneration had all increased more than tenfold.

The lasers couldn't even penetrate his flesh. His body maintained balance between destruction and rapid regeneration.

A layer of condensed violet qi enveloped him, forming a battle armor that saved him from the embarrassment of shredded clothing.

"This texture... definitely not Adamantium."Standing in the midst of the laser barrage, Byakuya flexed his right fist, curiously glancing at the Sentinels he'd just struck away.

They weren't made of Adamantium, yet none of them had been destroyed.

"Upgraded again, huh? Looks like S.H.I.E.L.D. has been doing well with their updates," he praised with a faint chuckle.

As soon as he spoke, the Sentinels he had struck away teleported back, their massive fists slamming toward him once more. Byakuya met them head-on with his bare hand.

But the instant their fists collided, surprise flickered in his eyes.

At the point of contact, destructive energy waves surged back—every ounce of the kinetic force he'd unleashed was reflected straight back at him, making his body sway slightly to the side.

As his reddened right hand swiftly healed, Byakuya instantly understood.

"So they've grafted on new mutant abilities again, huh? Judging from this reaction... Black Bolt's energy absorption and release? No wonder I couldn't destroy them."

Realization brought a faint seriousness to his expression.

"I really did underestimate you. If I don't get serious, you might actually hold me up."

His smile returned."In that case, I'll show you my full strength."

As he spoke, Byakuya lightly waved his right hand. A deep-blue holographic interface appeared before his eyes.

Full strength—of course—meant going all in.

Name: ByakuyaStrength: 4.4 + 0.4 (≈ 60,000 tons of force; movement speed ≈ Mach 7)Unspent Attribute Points: 0.2

"Deep Blue… add points!" Byakuya commanded.

The panel pulsed, and the strength stat jumped upward.

In an instant, his physical parameters skyrocketed—power surging, pressure rising, dominance erupting!

Name: ByakuyaStrength: 4.4 + 0.6 (≈ 150,000 tons of force; movement speed ≈ Mach 11)Unspent Attribute Points: 0

"Boom!"

A deafening blast resounded as Byakuya's figure vanished.

Before the Sentinels could even react, his right fist was already buried in one of their abdomens.

From Byakuya's perspective, his all-out punch hadn't left even a dent. All that kinetic energy had been completely absorbed by the Sentinel's ability.

But that wasn't the end.

At Mach 11, the Sentinels—relying only on teleportation to keep up—seemed utterly frozen to him.

Time stretched endlessly in his perception.

In the nearly solidified air, Byakuya moved deliberately.

One punch… ten… a hundred… a thousand…

In less than a second, 2,364 punches slammed into the Sentinels.

Each strike carried over 100,000 tons of force—enough to pulverize a skyscraper hundreds of meters tall.

The accumulated kinetic energy far exceeded what the twenty Sentinels could absorb in such a short span.

Hovering motionless in midair, they barely shifted a hundred meters as Byakuya smiled faintly and restored his time sense to normal.

Time began to flow again.

In that instant, the combined energy overload exceeded the Sentinels' limit. All twenty turned into colossal kinetic bombs—the energy they'd absorbed moments ago detonating at once.

A brilliant white flash—then an ear-splitting explosion.

A vast mushroom cloud bloomed above the earth, light and heat swallowing the landscape.

The shockwave swept outward, reducing everything within several kilometers to dust.

The tremor carried all the way back to New York, shattering windows across parts of the city.

Not far from the blast, Byakuya lowered his hands. What were once perfect, sculpted hands were now twisted and scarred.

As before, the extra 0.2 strength boost far outpaced his other stats. Even a single second of full-power output overwhelmed his physique.

Yet his gaze stayed calm. Within seconds, his arms regenerated completely under his extraordinary healing.

"Director… our Sentinels didn't even last a minute," Coulson reported miserably in S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, watching the satellite feed. Their strongest trump card had been wiped out moments after deployment.

"The President just gave the order," Nick Fury said coldly. "Deploy the hydrogen bomb. Use the highest yield available."

"But, Director," Hill objected, "the missile's speed won't even come close to catching him."

"Don't worry," Fury replied, his tone icy. "I believe he won't dodge."

"Oh? A nuke, huh?"

Seven minutes later, Byakuya looked into the distance. A twenty-ton hydrogen bomb streaked toward him, leaving a blazing trail of exhaust.

"Really now… A warhead this powerful, moving slower than Mach 1—you're counting on me not dodging, aren't you?"

He tugged at the corner of his mouth in exasperation, then grinned widely."Well, you're right. I won't."

Under the watchful eyes of orbital satellites, Byakuya stepped onto the air itself and advanced toward the incoming missile.

"He's… he's really not dodging," Coulson whispered in disbelief as the live feed showed Byakuya meeting the bomb head-on.

And the moment the two touched—

A blinding light erupted, illuminating half the sky.
