Nick took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the urge to kick Dominic's head like a ball. He frowned slightly, looking at the two individuals who clearly didn't take the World crisis seriously, especially Dominic's lazy and narcissistic demeanor, which was giving him a headache.
"Dominic, you need to understand, this isn't one of your usual absurd 'entertainment shows'." Nick's tone carried suppressed anger. "We're talking about a potential global crisis, not some soap opera casting call. You need to—"
Dominic interrupted him, still wearing that carefree expression, his eyes full of mockery: "Oh, I know, we need to be serious. A superhero team, right? But honestly, it feels like forming a singing and dancing idol group. Do you want me to walk the runway for my entrance?" He straightened his back dramatically, mimicking a catwalk, then deliberately added in a childish, mischievous tone: "Oh, Mommy, I really hope we can save the World together! Don't forget, we need to wear shiny spandex."
Tony was amused and couldn't help but laugh, casually tossing the hot dog wrapper he had just finished into the trash can. With his usual arrogant smile, he teased: "You know what, buddy, Dominic has a point. Unless aliens suddenly invade Earth, I really think we shouldn't interfere with this 'saving the World' job, right? After all, our good friend the 'World Police' is never absent. Wouldn't it be more stylish if we only made our move after those guys with 'justice' halos mess things up?"
After speaking, he couldn't help but add: "Hey, Nick, seriously, it's not that I don't believe you, but the 'World Police' protecting the World? That sounds funnier than 'Invincible Harem Squad'."
Nick's expression didn't change at all, but the helplessness and exhaustion in his heart were undeniable. Dominic and Tony were clearly not easily convinced, especially Dominic—he was too lawless, too fond of 'playing'. However, Nick knew very well that despite their treating it as a joke on the surface, his 'seed' had been successfully planted in their hearts.
Tony Stark, on the other hand, was relatively easier to handle. Nick had long known Tony's arrogant personality; he didn't need to waste too much effort. Just give him a little challenge and a sense of crisis, and he would automatically enter 'savior hero' mode. What truly gave Nick a headache was Dominic. This guy was like a ticking time bomb, ready to cause chaos at any moment because of some absurd idea.
Nick gently rubbed his temples, contemplating his next move: "Tony is starting to get into the zone. As for Dominic... I need to find a way to give him some sense of responsibility, but this guy's concept of 'responsibility' is basically zero."
Dominic saw through Nick's thoughts, squinted his eyes, leaned back lazily in his chair, and stretched with a big yawn: "Hey, Nick, I know what you're thinking. But you know, I'm not against joining your little team, I just hope you understand that we need to have some fun, understand? Like I just said, a superhero team can't be too boring." He made an exaggerated gesture. "I'm going to be the man who not only saves the World but also conquers all the female heroes. See, that's the perfect ending, right?"
Tony was so amused he couldn't close his mouth, and couldn't help but add: "Aha, conquering female heroes? Dominic, brother, don't say I didn't warn you, how about we call this team 'Dominic and His Bizarre Adventures'?"
Nick took a deep breath and finally spoke: "Dominic, Tony, you both know this is no time for jokes. Maybe the Avengers aren't the main focus right now, but the threat we face is far more serious than you imagine. This isn't just the responsibility of protecting Earth, it concerns all of us."
Dominic took a sip of his ice-cold cola, smiling nonchalantly: "Alright, Nick, I'll listen to you, but you need to know, I can't have less fun."
Tony shrugged, with a cynical smile: "Me too, but, you have to make it fun for me."
Just as an annoyed Nick was about to leave the hot dog stand, an urgent message came through his earpiece. His face instantly darkened. After a moment's pause, he turned to look at Tony and Dominic, his voice low and serious: "The fun you wanted has arrived."
Meanwhile, in downtown New York City.
Abomination's massive figure was rampaging, the streets turning into ruins under his onslaught. Glass shards from buildings flew everywhere with each of his roars, and vehicles were tossed around like toys. With every step he took, the ground seemed to tremble. Pedestrians ran in all directions, Screams echoing one after another, and chaos spread through the streets.
Abomination's eyes were filled with endless rage and hatred. He punched down the outer wall of a building and roared up at the sky: "Hulk! Come out! Where are you?!" His voice echoed like thunder through the ruins, filled with immense hatred and challenge.
And at this moment, aboard the helicopter, Bruce Banner stared intently at the scene below through the window. His face was full of conflict and pain, his fists clenched. He knew that only he could stop this disaster, but at the same time, he was afraid of losing control again and turning into that monster that destroyed everything.
General Ross stood behind Banner, his face as dark as the sky before a storm. His eyes were fixed on Banner, his tone cold and full of pressure: "Bruce, don't forget, this battle is not only about the fate of New York, but also about your responsibility. You have an obligation to protect these innocent people. Are you going to just watch the city be destroyed?"
Every word he spoke felt like a thorn, piercing deep into Banner's heart.
Betty saw Banner's pain. She held his hand, her voice soft but filled with obvious worry: "Bruce, don't let him force you. This isn't your battle, you don't need to sacrifice yourself again." Her eyes were full of pleading, as if she only wanted him to stay away from these dangers.
Banner's inner torment deepened, his thoughts in turmoil. As Hulk, he knew he could stop Abomination, but every transformation came with a huge psychological cost. "I can't turn into that monster again... but I'm also the only one who can deal with him."
Just as Banner made up his mind and was about to jump from the helicopter, suddenly, a blur of motion streaked across the sky. A figure descended from the heavens, moving as fast as a meteor, and with a roar, delivered a heavy kick to Abomination's chest.
"Boom!" Abomination's massive body was sent flying by the immense force of the kick, crashing into the ruins hundreds of meters away, sending up clouds of dust and debris. The figure landed gracefully on the ground, standing tall, as if this was just a part of his daily routine.
Dominic! His signature confident smile was on his face, he lightly brushed the dust off his shoulder, his eyes full of disdain and cynicism: "Hey, buddy, calling for Hulk to deal with you? Come on, I'm enough. Besides, our green friend is busy with his 'inner drama', he doesn't have time for you, does he?"
Betty saw Dominic's arrival from the helicopter and was instantly overjoyed: "Great! It looks like we're saved!" She turned to Banner, her worry for him finally easing a little.
However, General Ross's face was a different story. He stared intently at Dominic's figure, his heart filled with confusion and anger: "Damn it! Who is this guy?! Where did he come from? Is he a super soldier?" He continued in a low voice, "No matter what, Banner, only you can completely stop Abomination. You can't let someone else bear this fight alone."
Every word Ross spoke was like an emotional blackmail, forcing Banner to face the reality he didn't want to face again.
Banner had felt a slight relief at Dominic's appearance, but Ross's words plunged him back into internal conflict. His heart was a battlefield, wanting to retreat, but knowing he couldn't stand by and do nothing.
"Maybe he... can... No, I shouldn't let someone else take the risk. But I also don't want to turn into Hulk again..." Banner was deeply struggling, his brow furrowed, his hands covered in cold sweat.
Just then, Dominic clapped his hands, a confident smile on his face, and slowly walked towards Abomination, who he had kicked away, still not forgetting his mockery: "Hey, Abomination, get up, I haven't had enough fun yet. As for 'responsibility' and stuff, sorry, I'm not the kind of person who makes things too complicated. I only care about one word—'awesome'!"
He glanced back at the people in the helicopter, his eyes full of playfulness and teasing, and shouted: "Hey, Banner, how about we team up? You transform, I attack, and we take this guy down together? But..." He paused, a mischievous grin on his face, "If you're scared, I can handle it alone. After all, I'm Dominic."
Banner's inner conflict surged again. Facing Dominic's arrogant confidence and Ross's pressure, he could only take a deep breath and continue to fight with himself in his heart.
And Abomination, having climbed out of the ruins, glared at Dominic with eyes like fire, roaring: "You bastard! I'll tear you apart!"
