Chapter 31 - When a Hero Knocks on the Door

The morning sun streamed into the office through the glass curtain wall of the tall building. Hammer sat in his luxurious boss chair, his eyes fixed on the fluctuating stock data on the computer screen. His fingers gently tapped the desktop, and a self-satisfied smile played on his lips, as if the World was under his control.

"Look at this trend, it's beautiful," he murmured to himself, his eyes filled with deep satisfaction and pride. "Hammer Industries' stock has risen again. Yes, that's right, everything is going according to plan."

He casually clicked open several charts, scrutinizing the steadily climbing curves as if every number was telling him that success was within reach. His eyes gleamed with greed, and his heart was filled with ambition and anticipation. "America's number one weapon manufacturer? Hmph, Stark Industries will be left far behind by me sooner or later." He nodded slightly, as if cheering himself on. "That's right, that's how it is. I, Justin Hammer, am destined to become the most powerful arms dealer in this country."

He swiveled his chair and gazed out at the New York skyline, a confident smile on his face, as if he already saw the moment he would stand at the pinnacle of power, looking down on the World. "I won't be that joke suppressed by Tony Stark anymore. Haha, yes, I'm destined to surpass him and become the one everyone looks up to."

Hammer slightly narrowed his eyes, imagining the future glory. He could even hear the reverent tone people used when talking about him, the news media rushing to report his name, and high-level government officials arguing over his opinions. A deeper smile curved his lips, and he said confidently, "Hammer Industries will rule the World, and I will become the true King of Arms."

His hands tightly gripped the armrests of the chair, his eyes filled with ambition and confidence, as if the World was already under his control. He gently patted his chest and continued to himself, "Justin, you are the best, you are destined to win, you are destined to become America's number one, even the World's most powerful weapon manufacturer. Before long, the World will completely remember your name."

Hammer stood up, his hands clasped behind his back, and walked proudly to the window, looking down at the city below. He took a deep breath, and endless ambition surged in his heart. "Whether it's Stark or other competitors, no one can stop my progress. As long as I continue, the World will be mine."

"Really?"

Hammer's body instantly froze, as if the whole World had paused. A cold sweat broke out all over him, and he stiffly turned his head. This voice, yes, it was him! Dominic! A fawning smile instantly appeared on Hammer's face as he mechanically greeted the man before him who filled him with both fear and awe.

"Oh! Dominic! My god, I never thought you'd come to my little company!" Hammer immediately stepped forward, adopting an extremely solicitous posture, his hands unconsciously rubbing against the seams of his pants as if wiping away non-existent sweat. "You, how do you have time to visit? You're a busy man! Just saved the World or something... Is there something you need here in my small place?"

Dominic smiled and shrugged slightly. "Oh, nonsense, I'm not that busy. I just messed around with two 'big guys' and saved New York on the way. You know, just a little thing I did casually." He laughed as if he had just done an insignificant chore, his tone so relaxed it made one want to roll their eyes.

Hammer's fawning smile widened, and he nodded like a pounding garlic pestle. "Not at all, not at all! What you did was no small feat! My god, it truly is you, simply a miracle! Look, how can my small company compare to the glorious achievements of a great hero like you!" As he spoke, he carefully took half a step back, his heart pounding constantly, thinking, "My god, what does this guy want today? He's not here to cause me trouble, is he? I don't want to be played around with like those two unlucky big guys."

Hammer's eye twitched, and the "comical battle" between Dominic and Abomination, Hulk instantly appeared in his mind. He watched the farce via video at the time, seeing Abomination being spun around by Dominic, and finally rolling on the ground laughing like a lunatic, while Hulk was so angry he kept pounding his chest, and in the end didn't even want to fight anymore, transforming back into Banner and falling awkwardly to the ground.

"My god, if my small body is targeted by him, the scene would be unimaginable..." Hammer's heart trembled, and he imagined himself being toyed with by Dominic, instantly feeling as if he had fallen into an ice cave. He subconsciously touched his chest, as if already beginning to mourn for himself.

Dominic, however, seemed to have seen through Hammer's thoughts. He grinned, gently patted Hammer's shoulder, and said with his usual frivolous expression, "Oh, don't worry, Hammer. I'm not here to spar with you today. I heard your company's stock has soared recently, so I came to see if my old friend needs any 'special attention'."

Hammer immediately put on a flattered look and nodded repeatedly. "Haha, not at all, not at all, thank you for your concern! However, the company is developing quite well, it's just that it doesn't have the protection of an international superstar hero like you yet, Hahaha!" He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, his legs trembling slightly.

"Don't say that, Hammer," Dominic said, pretending to be serious, then revealed his cynical smile again. "Actually, I really think you could develop some new business, like... holding a 'Super Combat Weapon Exhibition'. Maybe you could even attract customers like me, haha!" His final laughter contained a clear hint of mockery, sending a chill down Hammer's spine.

Hammer gave a stiff smile, his heart already crying out bitterly, "My god, this guy really has bad intentions. He's here to torment me today, isn't he? My god, please let him just be joking!" He tried his best to appear calm, squeezing out a fawning response, "Ah ha, Super Combat Weapon Exhibition? That's a very novel idea! I will definitely consider it carefully!"

"That's good then." Dominic smiled slightly, nodded in satisfaction, then snapped his fingers as if suddenly remembering something. "Oh, right, Hammer, have you considered adding some freshness to your product line? For example, manufacturing products that are more attractive to 'special clients'?" As he spoke, he deliberately dragged out the words "special clients" with a meaningful tone.

Hammer's heart pounded wildly, and he quickly nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes, of course! I will definitely meet the needs of any special client, and I will absolutely not disappoint you!"

Hammer gave a stiff smile, wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, and said mechanically, "So... did you come this time because you have any special needs?" His voice trembled slightly. Although he maintained a hospitable appearance on the surface, his heart felt like it was being crushed by a large stone, and his breathing was somewhat uneven.

Dominic leaned back in the chair, smiling confidently, his tone casual yet full of mockery. "Oh, it's nothing big, it's just that Abomination and I recently have some... 'space' requirements." He deliberately paused, raised his eyebrows slightly, and a mischievous glint flashed in his eyes. "You know, 'big guys' like us always need big houses to live comfortably. So, I thought of you, Hammer, we're friends, right? Friends can always help each other, right?"

Hearing this, an alarm instantly went off in Hammer's heart, and the smile on his face completely froze. He forced out a smile and responded dryly, "Haha, friends... of course, of course! But... 'big house'? What kind of 'big house' do you want?"

Hammer's mind raced as he thought, "My god, this guy isn't really planning to bring that giant monster to live at my company, is he? With my small arms and legs, how can I withstand their 'large space requirements'? If this continues, my company will probably turn into a demolition site! And Abomination? My god, the place that guy can live in probably needs to be explosion-proof and shock-resistant!"

Dominic narrowed his eyes, revealing a mischievous smile, and gently patted Hammer's shoulder, saying meaningfully, "Hammer, don't worry, your company is one of America's top weapon manufacturers in my eyes. Dealing with these 'small needs' is just a piece of cake, isn't it? As for the house, as long as it's big enough to 'play freely' in, that's fine." When he said this, his tone became a little heavier, and a dangerous light flickered in his eyes. "After all, Abomination and I don't like restraints."

Hammer forced himself to swallow, and the sweat on his forehead was about to drip down. His heart was already crying out in despair, "What sin have I committed? This guy is simply a walking disaster! If they really move in, I might not even be able to keep my life! A house? Even building a prison might not hold them!"

He forced out a smile, silently praying in his heart, "My god, please let him just be joking! Don't let me become his next 'toy'!"
