Chapter 120 - Infinite Choices

When Gu Yi left, everything around seemed to return to peace, leaving only the Reality Stone suspended in the air, its scarlet light flickering slightly. Dominic stood in place, looking down at the gem with a complex gaze. Gu Yi's words echoed in his mind, making him ponder involuntarily. She indeed knew him, and even knew about his constantly growing power, a potential that even he hadn't fully understood.

"A fragment of the Goddess of Vengeance, huh?" Dominic murmured to himself, his eyes sweeping over the gem. The infinity stone seemed to pulse slightly as if responding to his gaze. He let out a light scoff, "Interesting, but I don't need you." His tone was certain, a certainty that came not just from his power, but from a deeper understanding. Whether it was Gu Yi's warning or his understanding of his own power, he knew that this external object held no attraction for him.

He curled his fingers into a fist and gently squeezed. The gem actually dimmed slightly as if sensing an irresistible pressure. Just then, a familiar deep voice sounded from behind him.

"Dominic." Thor walked over with heavy steps, his eyes scanning from the ground to the gem in Dominic's hand, his face showing an undisguised weariness and gratitude. He glanced at the remaining traces of the battlefield, then looked at the gradually dissipating ashes in the distance, saying softly, "Malekith is finally completely gone. The destruction he once brought is finally over."

"You should thank your hammer." Dominic's tone was indifferent. He casually tossed the gem up and caught it again. The scarlet light pulsed in his palm, like a fierce beast trying to break free from its shackles. Thor took a step closer, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

"You don't want it?" Thor was slightly taken aback, his tone filled with confusion, "The power you just displayed amazed even me. I'm very relieved to have the Reality Stone with you."

"Relieved?" Dominic raised an eyebrow and tossed the gem directly to Thor, "I don't need this thing."

Thor subconsciously reached out and caught the gem, looking down at it with a hint of hesitation in his eyes. He slowly looked up, his tone carrying an incomprehensible sincerity: "This is the second time. During the New York War, the Space Stone was right in front of you, and you didn't want it either. Now you don't want this one either. I don't understand, with the power you have, why aren't you willing to master another 'weapon'?"

Dominic smiled slightly, a hint of playfulness in his eyes: "Thor, do you think I need these gems to enhance my power? Like you need your hammer?"

Thor was choked by the words, scratching his head, unable to find a retort for a moment. He looked at the gem in his hand and then said in a low voice, "My Father once told me that the Infinity Stones are the most primordial power in the Universe, but their very existence is a danger. If controlled properly, they can benefit all things, but if abused... they will destroy the entire reality. He even said it's best not to keep the gems together, as that would at least reduce the danger."

Dominic's interest was piqued, his eyes slightly brightening: "Then I'd like to know, you Asgardians hold such power, why do you never use them? You have the Space Stone, and now you have the Reality Stone. With two gems in hand, isn't that enough to rewrite everything?"

Hearing this, Thor's expression suddenly turned serious. He scratched his head and let out a long sigh, his tone heavy: "This is an ancient lesson, and something my Father Odin repeatedly warned me about. He said that the power of the Infinity Stones is not something mortals, or even extraordinary god, can easily control. They are not tools, but part of the cosmic will. Anyone who tries to use them for selfish desires will be consumed by them."

He paused, looked up at Dominic, his eyes filled with complex emotions: "I heard many stories about them since I was a child. For example, the Reality Stone, it can change matter, even change the rules of the Universe, but the person who uses it will slowly get lost in the 'reality' they create, eventually unable to distinguish between what is real and what is fake. Even the most powerful God may not be able to bear such consequences."

Dominic folded his arms, his gaze indifferent: "Sounds like a very 'Asgard' story. Your Father clearly has his own reservations."

"Reservations are part of wisdom." Thor looked directly at Dominic, his voice low and certain, "The Infinity Stones are symbols of power, but even more so, they are incarnations of danger. We Asgard haven't not tried to use them, but every attempt has been accompanied by devastating consequences. We keep them not to use them, but to ensure they don't fall into the wrong hands."

Dominic smiled upon hearing this, a hint of playfulness in his eyes: "So the main point your Father told you is to hide dangerous things so others can't find them?"

Thor sighed with a bit of helplessness: "It does sound a bit conservative, but it is indeed the safest approach. The Infinity Stones represent the initial chaos and order in the Universe. They are not meant for anyone to use, whether that person is a mortal, a God, or... a special existence like you."

Dominic didn't respond immediately, but instead took a deep look at the Reality Stone in Thor's hand. The scarlet light pulsed in Thor's palm, like a restless heart. He slowly turned around, a barely noticeable smile on the corner of his mouth, and murmured softly, "Hide it... that really is an Asgardian approach."

Daisy Lewis ran quickly towards Dominic, her eyes as bright as neon lights, and threw herself into his arms. She hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest, as if trying to feel the sense of security seep from him into her heart.

"You're a miracle! I don't even know how to describe you!" Daisy looked up, her face full of adoration, "What you just did... that's not something an ordinary person can do, I mean, really, it's just incredible." She paused, her gaze softened, and her voice lowered, "But are you hurt? I saw those earlier... Oh god, is it finally over now?" she murmured softly, then deliberately said in a suggestive tone, "Should we celebrate properly tonight?"

Dominic looked down at her, a faint smile on his lips, and gently patted her shoulder. He didn't respond immediately, just let her immerse herself in that sense of security.

On the other side, Eric Selvig stood in front of Thor, looking at him with a complex expression, seeming to have something to say but not knowing where to start for a moment. Finally, he forced out a sentence: "Thor, how is Jane? Is she okay?"

Thor's face twitched, as if asked a question he'd rather not answer. He scratched the back of his head and mumbled in a low voice: "Uh... she's in Asgard, recovering, things are... getting better quickly."

Eric stared at Thor, his eyes full of suspicion: "Getting better? Then why isn't she coming back herself?"

"Once she's fully recovered, I'll bring her back." Thor tried to make his voice sound firm, but his tone still revealed a hint of guilt. He gripped his hammer tightly, as if using it for support to avoid being pressed further by the other party.

Eric narrowed his eyes, his expression full of disbelief. Just as he was about to ask something else, his gaze suddenly fell on the Reality Stone in Thor's hand, which was flashing with scarlet light. He frowned and pointed at the gem: "What is this? Why do I feel like it looks... a bit like that thing I saw during the New York War?"

Thor looked down at the gem in his hand, sighed, and decided to give a simple explanation: "This is the Reality Stone, one of the Infinity Stones. What you saw in New York was the Space Stone. They are both extremely dangerous things, powerful enough to change the rules of the entire Universe."

Hearing these words, Eric was first stunned, then his whole body froze. He looked at Thor, then at the gem, his face full of horror. He raised his hands and waved them repeatedly, as if warding off some plague: "No no no! Keep it away! This kind of thing is best kept far away from me, I don't want to get involved in any more messy stuff."

Although his expression was fearful, there was a faint smile at the corner of his mouth, as if he had just thought of something mischievous. He suddenly put on a grinning expression, his tone carrying a greedy hint of probing: "But seriously, Thor, since you're so strong, and have this energy or whatever... could you perhaps use your electricity to charge my RV and warehouse? After all, you know, electricity bills aren't cheap!"

Thor was stunned for a moment, then his eyes widened as he looked at Eric in disbelief: "Are you kidding me? You want me to use Thor's power to charge your... RV?"

Eric shrugged, his face full of a matter-of-fact expression: "I'm serious, Thor. Look, I helped you look after Jane's Earth friends, you should return the favor, right? Besides, I have a lot of important experimental equipment in my warehouse, and lack of electricity will affect research. This small favor from you shouldn't be excessive, right?"

Thor's mouth twitched, his face full of speechlessness. He took a deep breath and ultimately said nothing, just giving Eric a look that said, "You're really something," before turning his head away and ignoring him.
