Chapter 13 - Huo Yuhao's Choice

"You could have slept in a bit longer, actually," Old Chen said to Huo Yuhao, who had just walked into the living room, while sipping his tea.

Huo Yuhao felt that Old Chen couldn't be separated from tea. "I'm used to getting up early. As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm."

Old Chen's eyes lit up, and he smiled. "That's not wrong. Go get your breakfast from the kitchen."

Huo Yuhao immediately turned and headed towards the kitchen without a moment's hesitation.

Food is the most important thing in life. If you don't eat, you get hungry.

The breakfast wasn't particularly extravagant, but it was incredibly nutritious: a bowl of fragrant milk tea, two boiled eggs the size of an adult's fists, and a piece of roasted meat.

Huo Yuhao quickly finished it. Feeling the satisfaction in his belly, he clenched his fists. At that moment, he felt the surge of 'power'.

He could definitely punch a goose, the king of the countryside, to death.

Back in the living room, Huo Yuhao stood respectfully to the side, not sitting down.

Old Chen saw Huo Yuhao return and said, "Sit down. It's still early. Luo Li won't be back for a while. I'll tell you a few things while we wait."

Huo Yuhao nodded and sat on the sofa.

Old Chen pondered for a moment, then said, "Let me ask you, what profession is most respected on our Douluo Continent?"

"Naturally, it's the Soul Master," Huo Yuhao immediately replied.

"Yes, Soul Masters are the most respected," Old Chen said. "But besides Soul Masters, there's another profession that is also respected, and that's Soul Engineers."

"You can understand Soul Engineers as a branch of Soul Masters. Soul Masters aren't necessarily Soul Engineers, but Soul Engineers must be Soul Masters. The role of Soul Engineers is to be proficient in creating various powerful weapons."

Huo Yuhao naturally knew all this, but Old Chen didn't know he was a transmigrator and would only treat him like a novice student.

Huo Yuhao listened intently, his expression focused. Old Chen nodded in satisfaction. "Although I don't want to discourage you, you know that your innate soul power deficiency will make it difficult for you to become an outstanding Soul Master in the future. So, my advice is to strive to become a Soul Engineer."

"Why?" Huo Yuhao asked, voicing his question.

He had a god's-eye view, but Old Chen didn't. He knew Old Chen was genuinely offering advice, hoping for his future success.

Old Chen explained, "It's simple. Your Martial Soul is the Spiritual Eyes, which gives you naturally stronger mental power than normal Soul Masters. This will allow you to achieve more with less effort when creating soul tools. While it might be difficult for you to become a powerful Soul Engineer, lower-level Soul Engineers won't be a problem for you."

"The use of soul tools is constantly increasing on the Douluo Continent. Just in Star Luo City, there are over a dozen shops that manufacture soul tools. They may not be extremely wealthy, but they live comfortably."

"Don't look at those nobles, who all reject soul tools, believing that using them is a disgrace to Soul Masters. But the lower-level Soul Masters don't think that way. Especially those mercenaries who live on the edge of danger; if a soul tool can save their lives, do you think they won't eagerly seek them out?"

"Does Old Chen mean for me to go to Star Luo City and find a shop that makes soul tools to be an apprentice?" Huo Yuhao looked at Old Chen.

"No." Old Chen shook his head. "Since you plan to leave the Duke's Mansion, why stay in the Star Luo Empire? My plan is for you to go to Shrek City and find a shop that makes soul tools to be an apprentice."

"Shrek City?" Huo Yuhao was taken aback.

After transmigrating and becoming Huo Yuhao, he had actually considered whether to go to Shrek Academy or the Sun Moon Empire in the future.

But for now, he was still undecided.

Hearing Old Chen mention Shrek City, a thought flashed through Huo Yuhao's mind.

Old Chen chuckled softly, "The strongest place on the continent for manufacturing soul tools is definitely the Sun Moon Empire. But if we're talking about which of the original Douluo Continent's three great empires is the strongest in soul tool manufacturing, it's definitely Shrek City, which houses Shrek Academy. It's also an economic center, where a lot of trade between the three empires takes place."

"Once you go there, you'll have more opportunities. And Shrek City is very close to the Star Dou Great Forest, making it relatively feasible for you to obtain soul rings in the future. After all, your Martial Soul is too special, and spirit-attribute soul beasts are not easy to find."

"Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who works with soul tools in Shrek City, otherwise I would have recommended you directly. So, if you go to Shrek City in the future, you'll have to find your own way. Consider what I've told you today."

Huo Yuhao lowered his head, thinking about Old Chen's words.

Not to mention soul engineers, just deciding where to go in the future was a challenge.

If he chose to go to the Sun Moon Empire, everything would start from scratch. That meant he would abandon the development path of the original story, giving up a route he was familiar with. Of course, with the uniqueness of his Martial Soul, he might receive special attention in the Sun Moon Empire, but it was also possible that no one would care. Who could say for sure?

If he chose Shrek Academy, Huo Yuhao was also worried about a certain guy whose catchphrase was "You have chosen the path to death" plotting against him.

He had been a pawn for too long, and he wasn't used to being treated like a dog.

Even intimacy with his wife was restricted, which was truly laughable.

However, looking back at the original story, Huo Yuhao also understood some things.

Although Tang San had sensed the birth of a new star on Douluo Continent, he didn't initially realize it was him. So, when exactly did Tang San discover that Huo Yuhao was the new star he had sensed?

That was a question.

But overall, excluding Tang San, Shrek Academy was indeed one of the best choices.

Although Shrek Academy had a bad reputation, mainly due to its double standards, you couldn't deny that Shrek Academy's strength was truly formidable; it was an excellent backing.

In the original story, Shrek Academy helped the three great empires resist the Sun Moon Empire's attacks. In the end, although Tang San stopped Orange from further ruling the continent, the Sun Moon Federation in Legend of the Dragon King already showed who the winner was.

But even so, Shrek Academy still existed. Of course…in the end, Shrek Academy was still annihilated by two Godslayer-class fixed soul guide cannonballs.

That wasn't bad. Others had endured for tens of thousands of years before they finally wiped it out.

As for going to the Body Sect, don't be silly. No one knew where their sect was located; you couldn't find it.

"Forget it, I'll take things one step at a time."

Huo Yuhao, caught in his dilemma, decided to put his indecision aside, even though he already had a preliminary decision in his heart.

On the other side, Old Chen wasn't in a hurry to wait for Huo Yuhao's reply. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and immediately stood up in confusion, leaving the living room and heading towards the gate of the Maple Residence.

Usually, Dai Luoli should have arrived by now, but he's late today.

"What's going on? This child is usually quite disciplined," Old Chen frowned, looking at the quiet appearance outside the gate.

"Tap, tap, tap."

Suddenly, a rapid running sound came from the other side of the artificial stream. A little boy, about nine years old, hurried over, looking flustered.

Seeing him, Old Chen's expression immediately became serious.

"It's over, Grandpa Chen is indeed waiting for me." Dai Luoli noticed Old Chen standing at the door when he arrived on the arched bridge, and immediately showed a hint of fear. It seemed he was going to be punished with a spanking.
