Chapter 16 - A Living World

"Luo Li, you must remember, to master your Blood Tiger Martial Soul, you must control your Killing Intent. Only with the enhancement of Killing Intent can your martial soul unleash its strongest power at this stage."

Within the five-hundred-square-meter training ground, on the sturdy white stone floor, a nine-year-old boy stood, his body emanating blood-red soul power fluctuations. In front of him, a massive Beast Skull was placed.

The Beast Skull was enormous, resembling a turtle. It was overall a grayish-blue color, with numerous crack-like patterns of scales on its surface. The eye sockets held a pair of blood-red eyes. Even though the Beast Skull's owner was dead, its eyes still brimmed with a terrifying, cold, and bloody aura.

Its mouth was filled with a multitude of sharp teeth, like blood-colored thorns stuck inside. It was likely that this creature, when alive, possessed exceptionally powerful offensive capabilities.

Luo Li trembled as he looked at the Beast Skull. Behind him, a phantom of the Blood Tiger Martial Soul flickered. Facing the Beast Skull, perhaps influenced by Luo Li, it was also trembling, seemingly extremely afraid of the Beast Skull.

Large amounts of sweat soaked Luo Li's clothes, the blood-red soul power fluctuations on his body flickering incessantly.

Perhaps to outsiders, everything seemed normal, just a boy standing in front of a giant Beast Skull.

But in reality, within Luo Li's vision, a gigantic, bizarre creature was prostrating, its terrifying crimson eyes fixed on him. Those lifeless eyes contained immensely strong Killing Intent, as if capable of destroying everything.

"This child's Martial Soul, like yours, has undergone a mutation. And like you, the mutation has caused problems. You have innate level one soul power, while he, strangely, initially had innate level nine soul power, but later inexplicably dropped to innate level three soul power." Old Chen gazed at Luo Li with a serious expression. In his hand, he held a special deep blue stone. The stone was emitting a strange gas, entirely enveloping Luo Li and the Beast Skull.

Huo Yuhao didn't know what Luo Li had gone through, but he could sense that Luo Li's emotions were extremely unstable at this moment.

"Old Chen, are you planning to use this soul beast's skull to let Luo Li adapt to the Killing Intent in advance?" Huo Yuhao asked.

Old Chen's eyes flickered, somewhat surprised by Huo Yuhao's question, "That's right, that's my plan. This child is still young; he hasn't experienced real killing yet. But I'm letting him sense the true Killing Intent in advance with the Yin Demon Turtle's skull, which can lay a foundation for him to control Killing Intent in the future."

"This stone is called the Bewildering Stone. As long as you infuse soul power into it, it will release a type of hallucinatory gas. Once enveloped by this gas, it can cause sensory changes. Similarly, this gas can also stimulate the Killing Intent remaining in the Beast Skull. The combination of the two will produce a unique effect."

Hearing this, Huo Yuhao nodded in understanding.

Old Chen's teaching methods for him and Luo Li were very different, after all, their Martial Souls were different.

Perhaps Old Chen thought that Luo Li wouldn't become a powerful Soul Master in the future, so he taught him mostly knowledge-based subjects.

Whether it was knowledge about Soul Beasts, humans, or special existences in nature, there was a whole lot of it.

Huo Yuhao happily memorized this knowledge. He knew that although he was a transmigrator and had a god's-eye view, this Douluo Continent was no longer the world of a novel, but a living world. People were not just fictional characters described in words, but real individuals with flesh and blood.

This knowledge would always be helpful at some point.

If he considered himself different from others and refused to integrate with this world, acting particularly special, there would always be a day he would be unlucky.

Coming back to the matter, Huo Yuhao gazed at Luo Li's figure and, after pondering for a moment, said, "Old Chen, have you ever considered that the reason for Luo Li's two innate soul power fluctuations during his Martial Soul awakening is because the conventional Martial Soul awakening method isn't enough to support his talent?"

Old Chen's heart skipped a beat. "Tell me your thoughts."

He was increasingly amazed by Huo Yuhao. In his opinion, Huo Yuhao seemed very good at drawing inferences from one instance.

Huo Yuhao recalled the situation from the original novel and said in a low voice, "The Blood Tiger Martial Soul is derived from the White Tiger Martial Soul. According to the Martial Soul Encyclopedia you gave me, this Martial Soul also possesses abilities related to mental power. However, from what I've observed, Luo Li doesn't seem to have manifested any mental power attributes."

"Go on," Old Chen said without any response, simply urging Huo Yuhao to continue.

Huo Yuhao paused for a moment and continued, "In order to make Luo Li truly unleash the full power of his Blood Tiger Martial Soul, he needs to undergo extreme levels of mental stimulation."

Old Chen chuckled, stroking his beard, "Actually, the high-ranking officials of the entire Duke's Mansion are aware of this. That's why I brought out the Yin Demon Turtle's skull to stimulate Luo Li. This not only allows him to adapt to Killing Intent in advance but also stimulates his Martial Soul to develop mental power attributes. However, it's evident that this approach hasn't been effective in any way. Luo Li can only utilize some of the abilities of the White Tiger Martial Soul."

Old Chen was quite impressed by Huo Yuhao's personal insights, as a soul master who wasn't even at the Soul King level, he had actually identified a problem that even Soul Kings found difficult to discern.

However, the issue with Luo Li's Martial Soul wasn't so easily resolved, after all, mental power properties were connected to the soul.

"I think that's because the level of stimulation isn't high enough," Huo Yuhao said softly, "Because mental power is connected to the soul, you, Old Chen, and the other strong members of the Duke's Mansion are probably worried about that, so you didn't choose a more severe method, right?"

Old Chen's pupils contracted, and he looked at Huo Yuhao with some disbelief.

Huo Yuhao looked at Luo Li and said in a low voice, "Actually, you can give Luo Li the choice, whether he wants to lag behind those two brothers he despises for the rest of his life, being scorned and ridiculed by the world, or if he wants to take a gamble, even if it means risking his life."

Old Chen fell silent. All along, his biggest worry had been that Luo Li wouldn't be able to handle stronger mental stimulation, which could damage his soul. That would be a major problem.

Yet, he had never asked Luo Li what he himself thought.

He turned his head to look at Luo Li, who was still gritting his teeth and persevering. The expression on his face became serious, recalling the aspirations this child had shared with him: to become a Title Douluo powerhouse.

Becoming a Title Douluo was incredibly difficult. There might be shortcuts on the path of a soul master, but only a very small number of people could take them. Most people still had to be grounded, constantly working hard to make progress.

Perhaps, it's time to ask this child what he thinks.

Old Chen thought to himself.

"What training methods do you have?" Old Chen asked, treating Luo Li like an adult in this question.

Even Old Chen himself couldn't help but feel a little amazed by this.

Ultimately, he could only attribute it to Huo Yun'er's teachings to Huo Yuhao.

Huo Yuhao knew that Old Chen still hoped Luo Li would choose to fight for his life. He said, "For example, taking him to a thousand meters in the air and dropping him, or throwing him into the vast sea, or putting him in a cage with soul beasts to fight, and so on."

Taking a deep breath, Old Chen looked at Huo Yuhao with a strange expression.

Where exactly did this kid learn these things, and how did he apply them?

He was really playing for keeps.

Some things involve spoilers, and I don't know how to explain them to everyone. For example, why the story is still at the Duke's Mansion, I can only say that what I'm writing now isn't random.

Also, although the male lead starts on the Shrek Academy route, that's too monotonous. Many fanfics are written like that. I'll definitely make changes later on, so everyone can rest assured.

I plan to write all the regrets from my last book in this one.

My book, Heavenly Eye Yuhao, is expected to be around two million characters long.

PS: Although Shrek Academy is annoying, with issues like double standards, it's undeniable that once you control it, the strong resources it can provide are truly substantial.

In the end, I hope you readers can understand, and thank you all for your support.
