Elara's POV
The door opens, and his eyes are intense on me.
There's no expression on his face. I can't read him to say he's upset or if he isn't. It's not between, just far off a point I can judge. But this isn't planned. I came in my own free will.
He didn't ask me to come. But I'm here. He is supposed to be offended.
"You came here," he says.
He lets go of the knob, and walks closer to me. The sound of the door closing tells me my fate is sealed. It's just us in this room, and darkness is already invading us. As he closes the distance between us, I keep stepping back. His presence has a life of its own. I can feel it in my skin even when he hasn't touched me.
"You came to see me," he says again. "Didn't you?"
"Yes… No, but I want to leave." I find myself saying.
Just a single flop, and I'm done for.
He doesn't answer, except walking closer. A small amount of time will tell, but I can't bear to wait for that time even if it's just a few seconds.
