Cassian's POV
It's obvious she directly feels drawn to me. That wouldn't let her leave so early. She's still standing outside, perhaps hoping I call her back.
That's proof of this connection between us, but there's still fear in her heart towards me. But she also wears this fear as a mask for her feelings. Her little actions want to deny that she enjoys the moment she spends with me, but her body wouldn't make that lie effective.
It betrays her by showcasing her lust.
But I also understand her from another standpoint. She's human, and humans don't have any primal connection they tag as "mate bond", so she wasn't used to this.
That's the big reason I've never been at rest. When is she supposed to understand and accept it?
"Elara?" I call.
I know she is still outside the door, and so I do not use a mindlink. She can hear me, but she doesn't want to answer. She's offended?
It seems I went too far in asking her to leave.
Perhaps I can ask her to come in?
I don't want to.
