Chapter 2 - The Day Damien Turned Seventeen

Young Damien was in his house, his bedroom was located upstairs of his house. The house was small but, compared to all houses in his village, his home was one of the kind itself. If someone asked to trade his house to a fancy high inn he wouldn't trade it at all, that is how much worth to him this house.

His bedroom was quite small but it had special warmth to it. A bed that can fit whole two grown men, yellowish colored bed sheet that symbolized the years of its usage.

Next to the bed was a bit old table, on top of it was the small candle that did whole lighting to the room, it was also the reason behind the warmth on the small bedroom.

Damien was laying in the bed with one leg on top of the other and his both hands were on his backside of his head. If someone else would have saw this, they would definitely think this boy is rather a genius or rather idiotic fool.

Damien thought, "huh, today was my 17th birthday. I'm almost a full grown man and yet I still don't have anyone to marry."

In his village age of 16th is the suitable age for marrying a woman. Many youngsters who have been thirsty on lust intend to marry at just 16th by siding the law onto their side.

So many friends of Damien got married at that age. They don't even have the slightest idea on providing their newly married bride, but just to fill their lust they intend to take that risk.

"Forget marriage, I don't even have a girlfriend. After all these years not at least one girl, am I that ugly?" Saying this to himself Damien thought about his past.

There were countless beauties in the village but not even single one dared to approach him. But when he tried to say even hello to a girl they would try to ignore him. After this his final conclusion was "maybe I don't have luck with women after all."

But it was rather opposite, even Damien's eyes were like blue shining ocean that can never look away. His hair was dark but it was a different dark than usual people, it was darker than the night hallow sky itself. These were all inherent from his mother Loria.

Damien was close to being half asleep just by thinking about this. He muttered to himself, "I'm fine being like this, I have everything that I could I asked here in my village."

Damien fell into sleep in his room, there still a blink of light coming from the candle. Just as the candle light about to disappear a figure came to his room.

As the figure came the light in his room vanished, the cold air was beginning to haunt the room. The figure walked towards the bed and just stared at the young Damien who was sleeping tightly.

The figure moved and sat on the bed slowly, as if the figure wanted to avoid wakening up Damien. The room was completely dark and cold at the same time. As the figure tried to wrap itself around Damien, the coldness of the room began to increase itself.

The figure patting Damien's head muttered slowly, "ohh my Damien, I don't know how you going to get through this, but you have to be brave my sweet Damien, from now on you will encounter many cruel and unfortunate things."

As the figure got even closer to Damien, even in his sleep he might have smelt the smell of blood. The figure's bloody lips were like a bright red flower blossom.

In a flash the figure slowly kissed on Damien's forehead and got up gently. Even after getting up the figure touched Damien's face in one hand, as someone picked up beautiful flower and admiring it.

"This world is cruel my Damien, you can' trust the people who say's they are good and righteous."

After saying this mysterious figure left the room and disappeared into the shadows.

As the mysterious figure left, the room returned to the warm room before, even the candle got light up suddenly as if this mysterious figure was the one held back it from lighting up.
