The Morning Came Faster Than a Blink of Eye.
Demien woke up because of a loud yelling that came from downstairs. Demien got up and his dark shining black hair was a mess, as if the sunny sky was darkened due to a rainstorm. He brushed his hair with his pure snow-like white hand to get a decent look.
Then Demien got downstairs and got a good look at his house. A big table was in the middle of the house which could serve at least five to six people. Right across the table, a small but charming painting of a forest held on the wall. It did bring a classy look to this small house, and at a corner of the floor some of his father's hunting tools scattered all around.
His mother Lucia was preparing some kind of dish but his father seemed to be not around. If he did, he would definitely get scolded by Lucia for leaving hunting tools inside the house.
Demien's mother never liked hunting, she always despised the idea of hurting animals. But due to them being poor she had to let her husband do his work.
Demien snuck behind Lucia and grabbed her by her waist and hugged her behind and said, "Good morning mother."
She looked at Demien with a loving beautiful smile and said, "Good morning indeed Demien." That caught Demien off guard, because his mother Lucia wasn't even a bit surprised at all. That made Damien doubt his hunting skills.
A hunter should always be silent and deadly at the same time. If you're hunting a rabbit you got to be quiet and fast as the rabbit itself, that's what his father had taught him. And just like his father, Demien was an excellent hunter as well, he could even surprise his father in sneaking, who was a hunter known in the whole kingdom of Rainharet. But how come his mother could sense he snuck behind her back?
"Ahh I give up mother, I can never surprise you, how can I even call myself a hunter." Damien tried to let go of his hands that were holding his mother Lucia's wrist but Lucia suddenly held his hands tightly and said with a smile, "You should never call yourself a hunter, my Demien, you are not someone who kills innocents, right?"
She turned around still holding Demien's hand and said, "But don't worry about surprising me, you already surprised me how well you've grown up. I couldn't ask more than this."
If some outsider saw this they would absolutely think these two were either siblings or lovers. Not because of the way they act but due to the similarity between them. Lucia's hair was the same shiny dark hair as Demien's and their skin that was like pure white snow, the ocean-like blue eyes. On top of that even villagers said an angel like Lucia is the only one who can give birth to a beautiful angel like Demien.
Demien smiled in an embarrassing way and scratched his nose to avoid his embarrassment. Lucia was looking at his face, as someone who discovered some kind of rare diamond.
Demien was lost in a whole another world itself, his mother's eyes were shining bright like a beautiful star in the depth of the night sky. He thought to himself, "Why is my mother this young and beautiful, huh come to think about it. There isn't anyone in the whole village who can slightly match her beauty. Even fresh young girls can't even get close to her."
Lucia released Demien's hand and got back to preparing the dish that she made before. It was a small vegetable soup with lots of ingredients. Demien saw some carrots, tomatoes, and some herbs were lying on the floor as well.
Lucia got a heavy pot of vegetable soup and poured it into a small plate on the table. Demien who was looking at the feast, immediately rushed over to the table and took a chair and sat down. From just the smell of it he could tell this was going to be delicious.
"Even the king himself can't enjoy this kind of meal that's made from my mother, he he." Demien rubbed his hands together after saying this and started eating like a beggar who hadn't had anything to eat in a while.
Lucia watched as Demien ate, with a smile. She mumbled to herself quietly, "Oh my sweet Demien." Her eyes were pointed at Demien all the time he ate. She didn't even look away for a single second.
After finishing everything Demien asked, "Mother, are you not going to eat today too? You never even once had dinner with me," in an angry but concerned tone. In Demien's whole 17 years of his life, he never had dinner with his mother Lucia.
But it's not like she doesn't eat anything. She loves to eat fresh bright red apples. Every evening after hunting Demien would bring a full bag of red apples to his mother. When he did this Lucia got really happy like a small child who received candy for the first time.
Lucia was a bit frustrated but her smile didn't change one bit and she spoke with a light-hearted voice, "Oh don't worry Demien, I had dinner with your father before he left to hunting."
"Ha ha every time. Mother, I'm going to go as well, first I'll head back to the village and then I can see what has been up to." Demien got up after saying this and said farewell to Lucia and headed to the inner village.
