"Nangong-san, are you hurt…?"
Asia rushed to Shuo's side, anxiously scanning him for wounds. Her hands fluttered over his arms and chest, searching for any sign of injury.
Shuo gave a helpless smile. "Relax, Asia. I'm fine—see? Not a scratch on me."
Asia let out a relieved sigh, her lips curving into a gentle, radiant smile. "I'm so glad…"
Shuo's tone softened. "Now that it's over, this place isn't safe anymore. Asia, why don't you come home with me? Stay for good." He wrapped his arm around her waist, drawing her close.
Asia's cheeks flushed bright pink, her body trembling in his embrace. "O-okay… Thank you, Nangong-san." Her voice was barely above a whisper, but the gratitude shone through.
The moment lingered—warm, fragile, almost dreamlike—until a familiar mechanical chime shattered the peace.
"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Ding! Sign-in character detected: Raynare. Mission level: Green. Objective: Eliminate.
Ding! Sign-in characters detected: Kalawarner, Mittelt, Dohnaseek. Mission level: White. Objective: Eliminate.
Huh. Fallen Angels? Looks like we've got more pests to deal with.
A rustling in the shadows. Four figures emerged from the trees—black wings unfurled, faces cold and predatory. Behind them, a dozen Stray Priests fanned out, eyes gleaming with fanatic devotion.
Shuo recognized them instantly. Raynare at the front—her features twisted with icy fury. In the manga, Azazel had only ordered her to monitor Sacred Gear wielders, but Raynare had always taken things into her own hands. She'd killed Issei outright, justified it as "mercy," and later tried to steal Asia's Sacred Gear for herself. In the end, her arrogance got her killed.
Now, seeing Freed's charred corpse at her feet, Raynare's eyes blazed with hatred. Still, she couldn't help but curse his incompetence for dying to a pair of "kids."
"Tch tch tch. Seems tonight is just crawling with annoying little insects."
Shuo smirked. "All I did was take out your trash. Didn't realize you'd be so sensitive."
Raynare laughed, sharp and mocking. "You really think you're something, don't you? And you—" Her gaze snapped to Asia, dripping with contempt. "We only took you in out of pity, witch. Now you betray us? Why don't you just die already?"
Asia flinched as if struck, her body shaking violently.
Shuo pulled her closer, his voice gentle but firm. "Ignore her, Asia. You've seen what they really are. Trust yourself. I'll always be here for you."
Asia clung to him, her fear slowly melting into reassurance. "Thank you… Nangong-san…"
Shuo turned back to Raynare, his tone icy. "If I'm not mistaken, Azazel only told you to monitor Sacred Gear hosts—not kill them. You wanted Asia's Sacred Gear for yourself and waited for a chance to steal it, because you knew she couldn't defend herself. Don't pretend you're doing this for some higher cause. Azazel treats you all like tools. And from what I hear, he's not even into your type—he prefers older, more elegant women. Sad, really."
Raynare's face twisted in rage. "Shut your filthy mouth! You don't get to speak Azazel-sama's name, you insect!"
"I'll tear you apart!" She raised her hand, signaling her minions. "All of you—kill him!"
The Stray Priests surged forward at her command.
Shuo leaned close to Asia, whispering, "Stay back. Don't let the fight reach you." He pressed a Flying Thunder God mark on her shoulder—just in case—and summoned his Zanpakutō.
He moved like a blur, a shadow among shadows. In a heartbeat, he was in the midst of the Stray Priests, blade in hand. A flash of black light, a chorus of screams, and then—silence.
Bodies fell in pieces, blood painting the ground. Over a dozen enemies, gone in an instant.
Raynare and her lieutenants stared, stunned.
"Wh-what just happened?!"
"How… how did he do that?!"
Raynare recovered first, barking orders. "Don't just stand there! Attack together!"
Shuo grinned, eyes alight with anticipation. "Perfect. I was hoping you'd all come at once."
He lunged. In a blink, he was in front of Dohnaseek—blade flashing, head flying. Without pausing, he spun behind Kalawarner and Mittelt, Zangetsu carving through flesh and bone.
Their screams echoed, wings and bodies falling apart.
Shuo planted his sword in the earth, turning to Raynare. "Just you left. Any last words?"
Raynare's face was bloodless, her voice shrill with terror. "Impossible! You're just a human brat—how could you be this strong? No! Die!"
She conjured a spear of light, hurling it at him in desperation.
Shuo moved first. Zangetsu flashed—her right hand severed, blood spraying. Raynare screamed, stumbling back, trying to escape.
Shuo advanced, relentless. "Let's see how long you last."
He struck again, slicing off her black wings. Raynare collapsed, her beauty twisted by agony and fear.
Desperate, she changed her tune, voice trembling. "Master, I—I was wrong… Please, spare me! I'll do anything, anything you want…"
Shuo raised an eyebrow, playing along. "Oh? Anything?"
Raynare forced a seductive moan, trying to tempt him even as she trembled.
He snorted. "Tsk. You're good, but I'm not interested in snakes. Go to hell."
"Getsuga Tenshō!"
"No—please, no—!"
The church split with a thunderous roar, Raynare's scream swallowed by the darkness. When the dust settled, nothing remained but silence and ruin.
The Stray Priests and Fallen Angels—wiped out, every last one.
